So I think one of my favorite bnha tropes in the history of tropes is Monoma secretly being best friends or having a crush on a 1-A student.

Monodeku is my favorite though because midoriya is the 1-A golden boy! And the idea that Monoma has a giannnt crush on the #1 student in 1-A is such a silly thing to me :)!

I also really like the idea that midoriya actively tries to befriend monoma despite how clearly he shows his dislike towards 1-A. They really are one sided rivals to loved and that's my favorite thing thing ever!! :D

Monodeku au where Midoriya is the star player on some random sport team and Monoma is the caption of the rival team.

monodeku au where Midoriya is an art major, and Monoma is a science major. they go to the same college and HATE each other. The two of them have one class together though, analysis.

They go throughout the whole year sitting as far away from each other as possible. Anytime they pass each other in the hallways it gets super tense. So, obviously, their analysis teacher has taken note of their animosity.

To try and curb the mutual hatred they get pared for an assignment. Through this project, the two of them realize the other isn't actually that bad. but! They both refuse to admit this so, they continue to act as if they hate each other while trying to get closer.

It becomes increasingly obvious to anyone who pays attention that the two of them are into each other but will never admit it. So people begin placing bets.

"Monoma will crack and confess first!"

"No! Midoriya will! He's so impulsive!"

things of that sort. The whole au is basically intense pining. Do the two of them ever get together? I mean probably but I like to think they're stuck pining for each other for the rest of their lives.

did you guys know that Midoriya and Monoma have compatible zodiac signs. they're literally canon.

I made a bunch of these so you can expect that this is all I'm posting for the next few days

please consider when Midoriya and Monoma are pro heroes:

Midoriya got a letter in the mail today. This normally wouldn't be unusual, seeing as he's a pro hero he receives fan mail all the time. This letter, however, in bright bold red letters on the front, says 'TOP SECRET, FOR MIDORIYAS EYES ONLY'.

He had assumed it was a letter from the hero commission regarding a new mission or something of the sort. While it was rather strange, they sent him a letter instead of an email, Midoriya took the letter inside with urgency.

Still, under the assumption this was a mission from the hero commission, Midoriya didn't take the time to find his letter opener. Pulling out the contents, this wasn't a mission. The pages were full of romantic words and cheesy date ideas. A pickup line here, a description of his face and where the author wanted to kiss there. Line after line, page after page, Midoriya was bright red.

And right there, at the bottom of the last page. In black ink it read, 'Love, Neito'.

This 'classified information' was instead a love letter from his dimwit of a husband.

au where Monoma and Midoriya become streamers/YouTubers, but none of their fans know that they're dating. So like picture their fan's surprise when they see Midoriya walk past Monoma's camera in his underwear.

The first time Midoriya sees Monoma wearing glasses he gets so distracted by the sight of it that he walks into a wall.

My top pair would obvi be monodeku! I forget why I originally first started shipping them but I slowly became obsessed with them :)!

Number two would probably be shinsou!! I really enjoy their dynamic both romantically and platonically :D

ANNND number three is todoroki! Which I know sounds strange but I really enjoy monoma finding the top members of class 1-A attractive. It's makes me giggle! I mostly enjoy them platonically but romantically they're fun as well :)

Monoma: I'm kind of crushing on someone but I'm worried about telling you who it is because I don't think you'll like it…

Shinsou: Just rip the bandage off.

monodeku au where quirks aren't a thing and Midoriya is a regular at this one arcade, so he is ridiculously good at all the games. One day some rando blond (who happens to be named Monoma) shows up. He's playing on Midoriya's favorite cabinet at the arcade so obviously, midoriya has to make fun of how bad he is at it.

Throughout all of his taunting he kept calling Monoma blondie, cause, yk, he's blond. After the game ends Monoma blows up at him.

"Would you stop calling me blondie I have a name for fucks sake, Its Monoma." a looooong intake of breath, then,

"If you think you're suuuuuch a hotshot [eyeroll], let's see you play." Monoma steps aside, motioning to the arcade machine.

Monoma scoffs. Midoriya then decimates Monomas high score and they go on a date. He ends up getting Monomas phone number.

"Under one condition," Midoriya steps up to play, "If I beat your high score, you have to go on a date with me."

(midoriya has been oogling monoma the whole time he played, he's very pretty)

Monoma isn't actually that scared, he's never been easily scared. But. He chooses to be scared so he can grip Midoriya's bicep. Midoriya is very muscular, and Monoma will take any chance he can get to feel him up.

Midoriya on the other hand is scared shitless. This boy, who strikes fear into villains with just a look, is screaming at footsteps. Midoriya is also the type to punch the actors and its terrible.

He would accidentally punch someone and then immediately start apologizing and crying. Monoma is trying as hard as he can to stifle his laughter, but he just can't.

"This isn't funny Neito! I could have seriously hurt them!" The employee is still in pain on the floor, they're fine of course, but they're going to have a bruise.

At this one haunted house, the two of them had lanterns that flicker on and off and can be turned off by the actors. One of the actors had turned it off, Midoriya screams "Don't turn it off you dick!" and the actor walked up, set their hand on Monoma's shoulder and goes,

"Yeah jerk, don't turn it off". Midoriya screamed like Wild e coyote.

Another hc I have is that when they're getting chased by the actors Midoriya is one of those people who jump onto tables or hides away in small places to get away from them. This results in him losing both the actor and Monoma more than once.

Monoma, the little shithead, uses this as an opportunity to scare Midoriya more. He walks around dragging his hands along walls and ominously saying Midoriya's name until he finds him. Monoma has been punched for this.

Monoma also loves to antagonize the actors (please don't be a dick to haunted house actors btw). The actors say something, and Monoma would just respond like it's a normal conversation.

Midoriya got so scared he once ran through a wall. It was major leagues cartoony, with such a clean, very Midoriya-shaped hole in the wall.

The only reason why they have so many walls put up in their lives is because Horikoshi knew that if these two theater kids interacted and became friends would get along like a house on fire.

Shoutout to my favorite traumatized blondes who put on a somewhat false persona to mask their guilt and/or inferiority who are sometimes depicted one dimensional in the fandom but actually are really complex!

MHA Fankid Quirk Experiments Part 3:

I did some more fankid quirk experiments for fun. Though I didn't even bother with giving them hero names or go into what I think they would look like. I mostly just wanted to get the quirk ideas out there asap. Maybe I'll edit this post later to give them hero names or describe what I think they would look like. For now, I'm content with what I have. I think I'm out of interesting quirk combo ideas for now. Izuku MidoriyaxMelissa Shield-

Hisoku (春足):

Pronouns: He/Him

Quirk: Orbital pull, this quirk gives Hisoku the ability to set his eyes on his target and set the target as his orbit and manipulate his own gravity to get to his target faster with great dexterity and precision. This quirk is a fusion between Inko Midoriya’s quirk and David Shield’s quirk.

I think while the quirk would make him run faster and jump higher, he does not get stronger. So his drawback is that he needs to be careful of what he’s setting his target on so he doesn’t get himself hurt or worse from the impact. The point of the quirk is that Hisoku is always ready to run to help those in need and catch somebody if they fall (within his weight limit).

Kani (火新):

Pronouns: She/Her

Quirk: Heroic spark, (based on a combination of Hisashi’s fire breath and Inko’s quirk) whenever Kani touches someone (or perhaps even herself), they would receive a boost of energy or confidence, making them more capable of handling challenges. This could manifest as temporary increased physical strength, mental clarity, or speed—basically becoming "fired up" to succeed. The more she has won in the past, the stronger her ability to "fire up" others, but as the stakes get higher, the effect becomes less pronounced. If she ever considers anything she did recently a loss, she’s back at square one with her quirk and needs to win more minor challenges so her quirk can help increase the odds of a battle as much as it can.

Once her quirk gets stronger, she won’t even need to touch people to give them a mental and physical boost. She can use her voice to give fired-up speeches that affect multiple people at once.

Tenya IidaxMei Hatsume-

Amami (天光):

Pronouns: She/Her

Quirk: Engine, like Tenya’s quirk, Amami has her engine quirk on the sides of her head (gives off the vibe of axolotl gills almost). However, instead of using the engine to propel herself faster, the engine acts as a generator to fuel a super-powered version of her brain. When using her quirk, her brain acts as a supercomputer and can create near-perfect predictions of potential outcomes and solutions for problems based on the information she is provided. However, since it’s based on only the information she’s received, her hypotheses aren’t 100% accurate thanks to unaccounted-for variables that could occur in her thought process.

The drawback of this is that if she uses the superpowered version of her brain too long, the engine overheats, and she gets massive headaches from dehydration. After that, she gets grouchy and doesn’t want to tell anybody anything until her headache is gone and she has something to drink something to refuel herself (grape juice, chocolate milk, or orange juice are preferable)

Tensakan (天目):

Pronouns: He/Him

Quirk: Camera, like Mei’s zoom quirk, Tensakan can “see” everything in an area within 5 kilometers. Even if he’s trapped in a concrete, empty room with no windows, Tensakan can still sense if there’s life outside his general area based on body heat. He can also project holograms of what he’s seen through his eyes like a projector. Though projections only work if he actually saw it. It doesn’t work if he only saw it through body heat when his vision was obstructed.

His other drawback is that his vision gets blurry if he uses his quirk too long and needs a mental break until his eyes clear up again. Apple juice, carrot juice, and orange juice help him refuel and get his vision back faster.

Ojiro MashiraoxToru Hagakure-

Akibi (晶尾):

Pronouns: She/Her

Quirk: Invisible tail, that’s it. The drawback is she can’t wear anything but skirts or dresses. It’s so she can properly use her quirk without being exposed and embarrassingly showing her backside. However, I suppose the other workaround Akibi could try trench coats or capes if she wants to wear pants.

Minoru MinetaxPony Tsunotori (I really, really can’t stand Mineta don’t get me wrong. I just had an idea and Pony was the best option for me to help bring that idea to life. Also, Mineta deserves a taste of his own medicine by having a daughter who’s just as perverted as he was! Karmic justice baby! Also, not for nothing, Pony is not really innocent either because she did make an insensitive comment to Shoji that aged like milk as the series continued. ((Doesn’t mean I think she deserves to be with Mineta because of it, I just think it would be funny for Mineta of all characters to call her out on her discrimination. XD)) I hate that the potential for the ship name, MinePony is so good but Mineta sucks so much. I’m doing it for the quirk idea though!)-

Nyumi (乳珠):

Pronouns: She/Her

Quirk: Bubble cannon, Nyumi’s horns look like similar to boba straws. Unlike Pony’s quirk, her horns don’t detach but her bubbly hair still does. She uses her straw-like horns as cannons to shoot her balls with more precision and force than Mineta does. When using her quirk the balls pop on impact and a sticky substance bursts out of the balls that cover more area than Mineta’s sticky balls do. However, she still can throw her balls regularly if she doesn’t need them to pop.

Neito MonomaxCamie Utsushimi (they literally never met but if she can handle Bakugo, she can handle Monoma. Plus, there’s so much quirk gene mixing potential with this pair!)

Eisha (映者)

Pronouns: They/Them

Quirk: Method Actor, with this quirk Eisha is able to copy the appearance and quirk of a person to an extent. The quirk activates when Eisha can see themself in a person and get into character before they take on the visual/audio appearance and quirk of their target. However, despite looking like the person they’re acting as, their appearance is just a projection with limited mass and it’s still them under the illusion. So even if a person touches them when they're using their quirk and it feels real, the illusion has about as much durability as Eisha does in their regular form. They can only copy one quirk at a time when they’re using their quirk, and they can only change to a different quirk once they let go of the illusion.

Even then they need time to refresh after spending so much time in character.  Like their father, Neito the quirk they copy is less powerful than the original. They can only use quirks that don’t require the years of physical training it would take to get to where the original is. The copied quirk only lasts about 5 minutes, but the illusion lasts longer as long as Eisha doesn’t break character or doesn’t take too much damage while in disguise.

dare i say that neito monoma would have been a great protagonist?

i feel like the fandom either hate or love monoma, and i'm not ashamed to say i love him. he's probably one of my favorite characters amongst the students

so allow me to yap about how i feel a monoma-centric rewriting of mha would go

it would have the same start as the canon focused on izuku. monoma learns early in life that quirks have a huge impact on the way people see you but he decides to become a hero anyway.

the story would focus on monoma accepting he cannot become a hero like All Might (or the most popular ones in general), that he has to use his own tricks despite how unheroics they may seem. it would put an emphasis on monoma's inferiority complex. he literally describes himself as a 'background character' (or something like that). then you'd also have the whole dynamic of neito having a quirk considered weak/useless/villainous and having to prove his worth to both himself and his classmates (that would be interesting if he was fighting against Todoroki or Bakugou).

Shinsou would be an important part of the story too because i love him and i wish we'd seen more of their dynamic.

and don't even get me started on monoma making fun of 1A. I feel like this could make an interesting point on unhealthy coping mecanisms. like, you just need vlad king (who would be the parental figure™ of the story) telling monoma that putting other down won't help him in the long run, that he needs to focus on himself and that popularity doesn't matter in high school (it sounds like shit but trust me it has potential). and then bam (pun intended) you get a parallelism with bakugou who's also working on himself.

as the story goes, monoma learns to trust his classmates and work with them. he accepts he needs others to succeed (yk the whole power of friendship team) and is proud to be alongside his classmates and friends during fights.

monoma canonically struggles with his grades, which could be an important theme related to his self-worth issues (like, he's the only one who failed the midterms so he feels bad bc he feels like he doesn't deserve his place in the hero course)

and last but not least, you could even draw a parallel between him and afo: afo steals quirks, and so does monoma. the only diference being that monoma is doing this to help people and works with others.
