Sharing this bc I need to rant about the absolute chaos the process of making this was

Basically, our teacher realized we had to make sth for a gallery she forgot about and decided we would quickly draw coal figures inspired by / copying Käthe Kollwitzes artworks*
Since I'm rlyyy behind on our current big/main project, I had to rush this coal drawing in like an hour. (other students had 1-6 hours) and well.. Rushing a life sized coal drawing is def not a good idea wkdhkwej
EXCEPT. That's not we're the chaos stopped. Not only did i forget my coal eraser at home, but i also realized after making the sketch that this WASNT coal, it was chalk, which u can barely erase... (It was 7am alr, i was too tired to notice i was using a different black stick than usually-)
Usually when i use coal, i apply a bit much at first & then use my eraser to create value, but now that obviously wouldn't work... Not only that, but by the time i realized you couldn't erase this properly, i was already done with most of the sketch...

*kind of like a collage, but instead of cutting them out we drew life sized version with coal. We also arranged them differently than in her artworks & used figures from multiple of her artworks.
Ik that online, "copying" other artists tends to be a bit controversial, but most art schools use it a LOT, since it's a great way to learn from more experienced artist! ("why reinvent the wheel if someone else already did it for u already?") It's just for studying tho and we don't pretend it's our original artwork/idea or sth... That would just be plagiarism LMFAO
Actually i wanna rant about this more at some point bc i do not like how the whole tracing drama influenced the online art communities view on learning from other artists...
I still do art I swear....I’ve just been super unmotivated to finish anything so I made a quick coloring page edit to force myself to finish something. I think it turned out pretty good considering the image was soooooo small.
I turned Prince Eric and his daughter into my two vamore characters, Tim and Marina....they work off of different vampire lore don’t question it lol

Also here's me in my favorite shirt I already had cause I wanted to appreciate it too.
They all turned out pretty different cause I was experimenting with this and still haven't quite figured out exactly how I want my sona to look. I particularly like the 3rd one!

Rhymesona designing!
i decided I wanted to try and make a sona for myself! I'm still figuring out the design, but my main idea is they're a cat hybrid & a ghost.
I also want to incorporate flowers in their design, but I haven't quite figured out how I want to do that.
Another idea I'm playing with is them having an artificial/mechanical body that she can posess, that would look somewhat different from their ghost form. & I might also give them a regular living form as well. I'll want to experiment more to differentiate them all visually
got afflicted with insomnia and impulsively replaced my pinned post and changed up my pfps for my blogs. Here's the one I made for this blog! will probably change more tomorow. or later cause i'll be tired
