Lorine and Songpup ♡
week 13 "a young rivira swims home, after a long evening defending her village. she is exhausted, but finds refuge outside her old home, resting against the outer wall. the flow of the lake has worn down the old wood and clay, and a soft moss clings to the windowsills and doorways. she waits for her big sister, clare, to return home from scavenging near the shores. shes out longer than usual, but lori knows her sister can take care of herself.. so she will give her a little longer, before she decides to go search. but as she waits, a songwolf pup glides over to her. she knows the pup is too young to be able to sing yet, but she finds them very cute. they have a little collar, so lori knows they must have a caretaker around here somewhere.. but she doesnt know anyone with songpups, so she decides the songpup can wait here with her for the night" -the historian, 204sd week 13! oh, goodness. im late as heck. rough week, i guess ><. this piece took me nearly 7 hours, somehow, and has 127 unique color values. ive never seriously tried a fully underwater piece, so this one was very tricky! im sorry if its not very clear. anyways, thank you for checking out my art! i hope you have a wonderful week c: ♡

week 9! Lost in Waterfell
week 8 "lila had been very young when she lost her home. the war had taken a turn for the worse, and it seemed like the whole village might be swallowed up by it.. her parents had decided to leave, for lila's safety. as they packed, they told her to go through the escape portal, and theyd be right behind her. no one knew where these exit portals lead.. it was a last resort, reserved for when there was no other options left. lila went through, to find a peaceful place.. colors she had never seen before, and rain much heavier than at home, despite there being no sky to speak of. there was no one around, so.. she waited for her parents. a couple minutes, at first.. then half an hour.. then hours, and eventually.. days. the rain never let up. she was cold, soaked, and hungry. she still prayed to lurielle to let her see her parents again, but she couldnt wait here any longer. she left her hidey hole, in search of help.. hopefully thered be someone here who could help her find her parents" -the historian, 204sd hi hi! heres the art of week 8! took me about 4 hours. quite late, because i overslept, but i hope you still enjoy it! im sorry its a sad one ;w;. but anyways, thank you for checking out my art! i hope you have a wonderful week ♡
The Knight's Reprieve ♡

week 34! a day late, because stress, and the freaking power went out again >:3, but i made it eventually! hope this piece makes up for it. im quite proud of how the lighting turned out. thank you for checking out my silly drawing, i hope youre having a wonderful weekend! much loves <3
Big Sister ♡
"sou had been wandering the frostburn tundra with their big sister for many years. she had taken care of them as far back as sou can remember- ever since their parents had 'gotten lost'. sou often wonders if theyll ever see them again.. kira is cagey about it, but she takes good care of sou, so they try not to bother her about it often.
the tundra is too cold to travel when the moon is out, so they can only travel during the day, when the cold of the moon is at it's weakest, and during the night, they huddle around a great fire for warmth. true thirian flame does not produce much heat, but its enough to keep a thirian alive in the tundra.. barely.
sou wonders why they dont live at one of the many villages they visit for supplies, but she tells them she doesnt think the tundra is a safe place to live, and she knows somewhere better- somewhere where water flows freely, and foilage grows as tall as buildings! sou dreams of seeing it someday, and cant wait to see it with their big sister"

So just yesterday on Sept. 4th it felt like any other normal day, I get to my dorm to video call family and instead of seeing my parents at home, I see them both in tears as my younger brother is laid in a hospital bed with tubes and oxygen and wires from several medical devices coming out of him. He had a normal morning but as he was dropped off to class he started to have chest pains, not one hour later he had to get picked up from school and soon enough he was rushed to the ER. After some xrays the doctors had said there were some holes in his right lung which had collapsed and had been giving him complications in breathing properly and gave him severe pain. He spent the night in the hospital, and earlier today he was taken for surgery to get a pump installed to help him breathe and get his body to recover and heal. I am so so thankful that things are going smoothly but he will be in bed in the hospital for the next several days, my mom is with him just about every second possible and my dad has also taken the week off of work to spend as much with them as possible. I am stuck across the country barely starting my year in college and have no way home, the best I can do is continue my studies but with no current income, I am opening commissions to work on between classes. I have been here the past two days since I found out about this news absolutely sick to my stomach unable to eat/rest properly trying to go through my day as normally as possible. I am Hispanic so my family is very close-knit and they mean the absolute world to me, especially my brother who has always been by my side and we do just about everything together, hell, he would always look up to me for everything and has been inspired to dabble in art because he saw me doodling all the time.
We still do not know why this happened suddenly, they tell us it can be common for athletes especially those who push their bodies to the limits, but my brother does not do any kind of sports. He is not unfit either, he is the healthiest person I know and always watches what he eats, so to have this suddenly happen was completely out of the blue. My parents will stay with him in the hospital for the next 5 nights until he can hopefully be released to recover at home. During this period we are not getting any income and with everything that's happened so far, the medical bill is going to be a nightmare.

I’ve never done pixel art before but I’ve worked with pearler beads ( maybe I’ll post some but it’s not mcyt related) and this was WAY harder because it is more detailed ( and the brushed kind of sucked lol) I am taking pixel art advice or apps for pixel art.

Introducing... Cassie Jackson's stardew portrait! Like before, I used this for the base!
This one was a doozy! I couldn't find any of Cassie's main features on the portrait maker (her downturned eyes, wider nose, and longer 4b-ish hair), so I did it myself! I do appreciate there being some different hair textures available, since they made a great reference for the texture and shading!
While it was a challenge, I genuinely enjoyed doing this, partly because I love Cassie as a character, and partly because her design is so different than what I used to draw.
I used to not be good at drawing different features, I really wanted to change that and be more inclusive with my art. With Cassie, I wanted to push myself both with drawing different features and writing a different kind of character! (I don't have many transfem characters, and I need to fix that. Cassie here is mtf, and she hasn't had any hormones or surgeries. I want to be able to properly write the experiences of a transwoman).
So, ramble aside, I am incredibly proud of this portrait!
Ok after quite a while, I made my boi kyle his own sdv portrait!
I used this to have a blank base to build off of. I was originally going to try and just build him using one of the portrait makers, but none of them had anything that I liked for his hair. And the facial hair just didn't work for me lol. So I decided to do it myself :3
I have a little bit of experience making sdv portraits, but I gotta say it's a lot faster when you've got a base and some good references. Pixel art is so fuckin hard man. Like each pixel has to be placed so purposefully, and you don't have a lot of wiggle room with what you're trying to show with those pixels, if that makes sense. I have mad respect for those who do pixel art!
I'll make him some more expressions soon, cause I wanna make an ask blog with him!
(I still have to do some research to figure out just what to do, and I've gotta finish Kyle's refs lol. I also gotta make another portrait for his friend Cassie cause she's important to the story)
please i can't be the only one who remembers that one pixel art dragon game with coolmathgames vibes where you start off as a baby and depending on what you eat changes your color, to then get captured by a wizard until adolescence where you escape and go through his tower. then you grow up fully to either be a nature dragon(green), fire dragon(red), or a healing dragon(blue) and are able to go to a town to do whatever you want to it. leave it alone, cover it in plants, burn it down, or kill everyone by stepping on them only to revive them into zombies that constantly follow you. you finish your playtime as a dragon by making either the castle or a cave your den and are then playing as a knight to either kill the dragon or give it a flower.
