just remembered superheroes exist i have so many fanfics to write about so many characters
writing an olympic kataang au rn and i swear im putting way too much rock climber lingo in it but this au is a little treat for me so i'm letting it slide
current fan creation landscape is kinda like if you went to a party with a homemade cake and everyone takes a slice and silently thumbs up at you with no attempt to start a conversation except for occasionally some guy sits in the corner with a tape recorder critiquing the cake as though he was a restaurant critic and another guy is handing the cake to an uber driver like "yeah i need you to find a restaurant that makes cake like this so i can have more of it" and the only person that's talked to you in 30 minutes is a very sweet little guy who was like "hey i liked your cake" and then ran away apologizing for bothering you the moment you said thank you.
i will never stop being so grateful that tumblr and ao3 exist because without them i never would’ve had a place to share my writing and i never would’ve known how many people would resonate with it 🤧 feeling overly emotional about it today for some reason but thank u so much to all the lovely people that engage w my work it is so flattering to me 😖😖😖
to be honest, in my head i've been imagining that the admin of this account is a literal fish who somehow got a phone and a tumblr account and i'm ashamed to admit that my first thought seeing this was "how did the fish get into a sorority"💀

i've heard so many different, crazy stories of fanfic curses in different places, and so, i figured why don't we compile a bunch of them, all in one post?
so... fanfic writers of tumblr, what is the worst occurrence of the fanfic curse you've ever experienced?

to all of my lovely readers i promise i have not forsaken you!!! i've been super super inactive for the last week or so and i haven't updated via a03 in a minute so i just wanted to hop on and explain myself:))
i just started two jobs at once to pay for uni & rent and it is absolutely kicking my ass!!! i had to work 24+ hours over 2 days last weekend just so I didn't get double-booked between the two jobs, and in general, i'm super exhausted literally all the time right now 🤧🤍
hopefully this tiredness is not permanent!! i'm still learning how to balance my time around the jobs, so right now, i'm in a bit of a schedule-adjustment period as i figure out how to make time for myself & my hobbies while still working:)
this is pretty much why i haven't been active on tumblr & ao3. over the next week, my work schedule is going to cool down a bit, so i plan to keep at my WIPs and hopefully both release some ao3 updates & make some tumblr scheduled posts so i can keep on top of my fic promo:)
you can expect a new chap of the teenager in the iceberg and a new kataang wish (2023) - inspired oneshot, if happiness were a tangible thing, it would be you, a gift fic inspired by/ for @antizutara coming out in the next week or so!! i promise i am doing my very best to write more as the days go on:))<3 thank u for all the love and hi to the new cool ppl who have followed me even through i dropped off of the internet for a sec hehe!!<3

it only just occurred to me that i could use notion to plan out my fanfic writing and just UGH LOOK AT THE BEAUTY!!^
i can put all my fics together and keep track of pairings & how complete they are!!!
AND give them all little covers!!!!

i for one would love to see it even if it isn't fully done:) i loved the concept when i saw the original post, and i'm sure people would be happy to give some ideas or inspo for the final act!
i've had a couple bouts of writers block now where i've just flat out asked for inspo from people and for whatever reason, bouncing ideas off of people is always super helpful for reviving my writing-brain for a particular fic.
if you don't like uploading unfinished work, i totally get that, but i'm sure lots of people would love to see it and give you some help with that final act:)

I have not posted it yet sadly 🥲 It’s about 75% written at this point, but I’ve hit a wall with the last act and I am STRUGGLING to finish it. I take so much pride in finishing all of my fics, so if I reach a point where I’m struggling this hard I get scared and end up not posting lmao. But it’s nice to hear that there are people still interested!! Maybe I should consider posting it and people can help give me ideas with the ending haha

actually crazy to me that i have over 150 pages worth of fanfic that i've written only over the past few months on google docs but i complain when i have to write one (1) essay for a class i don't like.
i'm a hungry little clout goblin but in the way that i jump in excitement when i get an ao3 comment because it is validation that other people have seen into my obsessed fandom brain and enjoyed what it produces
