Romantizing Life - Blog Posts
Perfect days do not exist. Perfect moments do not exist, but this one is damn close. Or, well, as close as I can get with my massive amounts of cynicism and jaded world view. But, it remains; the sky is a gentle blue, tinged with yellow from the Western sun. The air is warm but not hot. The lake looks as if it was made from silk, gently rippling under the faintest of breezes. There are ducks and people in the park, all admiring the day under the shade of trees and screaming of cicadas. I have a book in my hand and a song in my ears. An ice cream truck is driving past as I write this, and I get to go home to a pair of cats and a cup of tea. The bluffs are on the horizon, accented by the occasional wind turbine and water tower. This moment is good, this day was good. Despite all the bad moments, there are good times. Nothing us perfect, but because of that I will always savour the sweet, maple-sugar taste of a peaceful, pleasant moment.
I just need someone who loves classics as much as I do. Who is as enthralled with the idea of reading out loud to someone you love as much as I am. Like??? Getting to read to someone I love? Getting to read out loud? Listening to someone I love read? And we're both genuinely interested and having a good time! Whyyy is it not normalized?
And hand written love letters! And just old school, romantic love. Like really old school. Bring me flowers with secret meanings. Kiss my hand before my mouth. Chase after me without harassing me! Care about the little things! And let us read to each other!

Something that brings me great joy: birds can literally be dragons if I want. Dragons can have feathers. Dragons can have a beak. Dragons... can just be birds... and they come in lots of colors and sizes. some live in cities. some hunt. some are super smart. some are fluffy. the world is such a magical place*

*This is sounds crazy, and I can barely put this thought into words, but its so real to me. magic is real, but people learned how it works, so its science.
what if we could understand magic and still have it feel special? life is so rare, and im here to enjoy it all (100% not disregarding science, love science, im just saying its so SPECIAL you know??)
