Rip to this part of my current Sangihun wip. I didn't take it out fully but I had to change part of it to fit with the flow of the whole thing
last night i annotated sang-woo’s apartment (for fic purposes, but there’s some funny ones on there)

how you can see the forty years of history right under each word of their conversations.
how, even after his death, gi-hun hangs on to every word sang-woo says.
how sang-woo spends all of the games trying to avoid his past. how gi-hun continues to drag him back to it. how it ends with him in gi-hun's arms.
i love to think about what could've gone differently with them. what could've given them that happy ending that they so desired.
i love to think about the moments they've stolen over the years. the ones they don't talk about. the ones that they told themselves were accidents.
i love how intertwined they are, most of all. no matter what, they always will be.

i think sang-hun from karma/악연 is just the sangihun lovechild
sang woo x gi hun
so, when they're all sitting together and sharing their names in the fourth episode, ali reveals that he's been under the assumption that gi-hun's name is ssangmun-dong.
which means that whenever gi-hun started praising sang-woo by calling him the pride of ssangmun-dong, he thought... oh, i need to sit down for this...
this is what happened right
au where sang-woo takes gi-hun’s hand, and they go home without the money.
during the ride home, nobody speaks. gi-hun still isn’t ready to put everything beside and needs time to think.
they go their separate ways for a few weeks, to process what had just happened to them.
finally, gi-hun visits sang-woo’s apartment, with the hope they can sort things out, finally heal, and work their lives out as they were meant to.
he calls through the tiny apartment, but is given no answer.
he looks through the rest of the house. no return when he calls out sang-woo’s name.
the only answer he’s given is a body, hanging from the bedroom ceiling.
sang-woo’s body.
even in another universe, he wasn’t enough to stop sang-woo from taking his own life.
