So I’ve seen a a lot of people still wondering if Rise of the TMNT can be saved.
There’s is a lot of hope, especially with the boom of fans joining the fandom after the movie dropped last year, people making more art on tumblr, twitter, tik tok, and so on. But also a a lot of doubt, especially after JJ Conway’s post on twitter.
BUT…I still think there is a chance…a GOOD chance. WITH ORIGINAL CAST AND CREW! Why?
We live in the internet. Information is more then easy to get out now thanks to social media. There is all kinds of ways to get the word out to people. Let’s abuse it. 😎
Fans have brought back shows before.
We need a MAJOR push through social media, more fans, more art, it’s up to us…and I think we can do it!
Fans convinced Netflix to bring Sense8 back for a finale
Fans convinced fox to bring back “Futurama” after it was cancelled in 1999.
Hey Arnold got the jungle movie thirteen years after the show was cancelled
Animaniacs got a 3 season revival 22 years after it stopped airing.
Brooklyn 99 was cancelled in 2018, and the fans convinced NBC to pick up the series.
Arrested Development was canceled after 3 seasons, but AFTER it was cancelled, it grew an audience and they made it come back!
Fans saved the original Star Trek in the 60s with letters.
They did it. Why can’t we?
So what can we do?
Well…
1. PETITIONS TO SAVE RISE that we can all sign…
PETITION 1 (The strongest one, but the more petitions signed, the better!)

PETITION 5! (Make an ROTTMNT season 3)
2. Pester Nickelodeon and Netflix on social media (THE BIG ONE Y’ALL, THIS IS THE MOST DIRECT AND IMPORTANT)
Be polite, be non-toxic (don’t be rude or mean, the boys would not want that, and the Nick/Netflix won’t listen), but be LOUD, PASSIONATE, AND ANNOYING! Ask for DVDs of the show/movie, and then BUY THOSE DVDs!
MAKE SURE TO ASK FOR THE FULL ORIGINAL CAST AND CREW TO COME BACK, INCLUDING ANDY SARIANO AND ANT WARD.
Sample DM/Letter (but try to come up with your own. Too many repeats and they will ignore it)
“Dear Nickelodeon/Netflix/Viacom, I can’t tell you how much Rise means to me, and I really love that you put the show on air. But it was not fair that the show was cancelled before it got the chance to reach the audience it deserved, only because of a few bad reviews and a lack of advertising. The show is great, there’s tons of fans, tons of art, and people, including me, want so much more! Please bring it back! We want the original crew to come, Flying Bark, for the show to get it’s full second season restored, and it’s five season run like it was originally intended. People hated the 2012 TMNT when it came out, but it got it’s chance and now there are people that love it. Why can’t Rise of the TMNT have the same? It’s clear that the creators love their work and there’s a growing fan base for it. Rise just came out at the wrong time, but it deserves it chance to shine.”
The more personal you made the letter, the more you say what Rise means to you, the better.

Ask for Rise Season 2, another season, another movie. Just keep asking!

One of the key reasons Rise did not do too well because it was unfairly review bombed before people could give it a chance…so get out there on tik tok, IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, and ESPECIALLY youtube.
Make reviews! Analysis! JOKES! Support other content creators! When the Rise Reanimated video comes out, share it like no tomorrow!
No one paid attention when How to Train Your Dragon came out, but word of mouth and people saying it was good, made it the success it was. Let’s repeat history!
Anytime there is NEW RISE CONTENT on Nickelodeon’s YouTube channel, watch it, share, spread it.
Share this post on social media, across various sites, use the information here to spread awareness about how people can help and what they can do. Be relentless! (Like Leo in Lair Games)
Ask influencers to review, react, and give RISE a chance without placing judgement.

One last thing to remember: DO NOT harass fans for enjoying other versions of TMNT
Even though Rise is the first and only TMNT I have ever loved, I don’t believe in shaming other fans for looking forward to, or enjoying other TMNT series. Gatekeeping like that was what stopped Rise from (heh) Rising as high as it should have. All Rise fans are welcome, and all TMNT fans are welcome. Rise deserves to reach more fans, it deserves another season, and it does not need to knock down other TMNT series to do it. Show them your love and your need for more Rise, without making other TMNT fans feel unwelcome.
Share, spread the word, give it your best shot! A village can move MOUNTAINS! SO let’s do it.

Just a reminder? that Leo doesn’t actually think he is worthless and useless.
Yes, he has his moments of self-doubt, and he struggled to find his place in the team, but he is perfectly aware that he is Good. That he is skillful and athletic and smart. In fact he thinks he is awesome even when he is not, like his humour.
He just sparks joy all around. I know people like the ‘hides the Pain under the smile’ type, but Leo has a normal amount of issues. Like Raph, Donnie and Mikey.

Ha so this is all going to take some explaining, enjoy a little essay behind my thought process and uh, what exactly went down
And first thing first, I promise this timeline will be safe!

So back in.. I want to say early April? I had an idea. What if Little Leo there grew up, only to have to care for yet another Little Leo. I thought the idea was stupid yeah? Very far fetched very out there so I just sorta let the thought loom.
However the thoughts never really left and kept getting stronger. So I began thinking, what would cause a second apocalypse that would cause that Leo to go back in time once more?
I could have done the Kraang, but that option just felt very overly done to me..? A bit too boring? Many other people have explored possibilities with the Kraang wayyy better than I ever could. I wanted something a bit different.
So one day in the middle of the night I shot up with, an idea, the goddamn goopy thing. Perfect.
More of what exactly what went down in that whole area will be explored later in the week! (tomorrow and wednesday...)
Anyways so cool! Apocalypse 2! I figured I could get away with showing the same amount of detail of the apocalypse as the movie had. If the movie got away with just 4 minutes of the apocalypse and some crew member info, then I could get away with a chunk of a comic.
Though if you do want a better idea of what that whole apocalypse was like, feel free to ask! Theres no way im drawing all of what happened in comic form.... I also recommend this video for an idea of what the whole ordeal looked like!
As for how Leo managed to go back in time through Mikey, mannnn did that scene go through so many drafts in my head. At one point I was considering making a new "Casey Jones" character to sorta rewrite the movie but have it end all the same, though that just was a bit out of my skill/character range, so I went with the most easy option for me. Mikey did a little bit of a portal interference, therefore I did not have to rewrite anything about the movie! And by rewrite I mean make a whole tiring comic-

The only thing that scares the Krang.
I love how chaotic @somerandomdudelmao Donnie is. Honestly I be scared too if I had to go up against that.
I also believe that Leo looks genuinely concerned in the first image and once he hurt Donnie, especially with the sweat droplets on his forehead. Of course it can be argued that he expressed these emotions on purpose, having shown his acting skills in previous episodes, as well as being the face man.
Futhermore, with the head cannon of Leo being the medic, makes it highly unlikely Leo would intentionally injure one of his brothers, let alone Donnie as a softshell turtle. If The hc was canon, then Leo would have grown up treating his brothers' injuries, even if they were never that serious. However, since Donnie is a softshell and bruises easilier, all of his brothers would want to be more careful to not hurt him.
Thus, makes it more probable that Leo did not intentionally hurt Donnie.
An ongoing debate within the fandom is whether or not Leo fell on purpose during the episode Lair Games
Leo: Donnie? Donnie are you okay?
Donnie: You did this! You’ll do anything to win! My ankle! My moment!
Some people have said that Leo might have fallen on purpose in order to win due to his competitive nature while others have said that Leo looked too surprised at Splinter declaring him the winner of the event to have fallen on purpose.
Splinter: Purple hit the ground first! Blue wins!
Other arguments used for Leo having not fallen on purpose are that the fall most likely hurt for Leo as well as Donnie & that Leo would never intentionally actually hurt a family member considering how important family is to Leo. A counter argument for this have been people saying that Leo didn’t mean to hurt Donnie by falling & that was the only part that was an accident.
However there is a piece of evidence that might mean that Leo did not fall on purpose & that is his family thinking that he did do it on purpose.
Mikey: And that’s when Leo fell, or did he?
April: So you think he did it on purpose?
Mikey: [Nods]
Donnie: It was Leo! He did it on purpose!
Leo: I’m only talking to you to set the record straight, I didn’t do it on purpose! I mean how could I? I had half a fridge on my chin!
Donnie: I’m sorry can I have a moment?
In the episode Lair Games most of the Hamato Clan seem convinced that Leo fell on purpose with Donnie & Mikey even saying so & April arguably taking Donnie’s side in the interviews. However a running gag within Rise is that whenever one of Leo’s family members try to make assumptions on what Leo’s doing we’re shown Leo doing basically the opposite of what they’ve just said.
Raph: Hey! Where’s Leo?
Mikey: I’m sure wherever he is, he’s trying to save us
Raph: Leo probably talked his way straight into Big Mamma’s dungeon
Whenever Leo’s family tries to predict what Leo will do, Leo’s family is almost always wrong whenever they try to assume Leo’s actions. In contrast when Leo tries to guess his families actions, he is almost always right.
Leo: Look I bet the only reason we’re here right now is ‘cause Donnie inputted coordinates of blah blah blah
Donnie: After inputting Shredder’s previous coordinates on the X-Y-Z and D for Donnie axis, I have calculated that this is the sight of our final resting spot. I mean go team?
Leo: Mikey Razzed his Tazz
Mikey: Whip-o-Rama!
Leo: April finally used her crane license
April: ‘Why would you get a crane license April?’ BECAUSE THIS!
Leo: And Raph is going to put it all together in a plan to defeat that led head with this mystic collar
Raph: Wow Leo that’s remarkably accurate
Raph: He’s back. Prepare for Operation Fire, Hanky, Tickle, Collar!
Leo: Yeah!
It is a slight running gag in Rise is that Leo is able to predict his families actions to a near perfect degree but whenever his family try to predict or assume Leo’s actions they are almost always wrong to a near comical degree, meaning that Leo’s family assuming he fell on purpose in the episode Lair Games might actually be evidence that Leo fell by accident instead.

Rise Ramblings #664
There are two concepts that I really appreciate in Rise of the TMNT, of which, helped to set the Rise boys apart from other iterations.
Before the start of the show, the Rise boys:
1) Already met their lifetime bestie, April O’Neal.
2) Have already journeyed topside, thus it’s no big deal.
The fact that these concepts are already established from the start helps to take away the typical stresses from the turtles’ story. Instead, the stage is set for the specific type of adventures and hijinks the Rise boys do get into, such as discovering the wonders of the Hidden City and the people that dwell therein.
I believe that there are two people we can thank for helping the boys understand the world around them.
First is Splinter and his lackadaisical parenting style.
Since he was a more relaxed father than his other incarnations, I’m sure that these boys were free to explore the world at an earlier age. Most certainly, many of their childhood adventures landed them topside, thus allowing them to have experiences that their other versions were unable to have.
The second person is April.
What does April have to do with their upbringing?
Well, I’ll show you.

Five years from the start of the show the boys would have been 8, 9, 9, and 10. What great ages to meet their first real friend!
Growing up with April would have had a huge effect on their social development; they’d be adapted to speaking with people outside of their immediate family, they’d learn about society through first-hand experiences and not just from tv or books, and they would have gotten used to the world around them by April acting like a bridge between the sewers and topside.
This is why by the start of the show, I believe, the turtles were already so well socialized!
