A/N: Hello everyone! Welcome to my new multichapter story! This is a Canon Divergence I've been refering as "Failed Inquisitor Shin", where her master was Barriss Offee and Shin is now being haunted by Trilla's ghost. Here is the beginning, and if you want to read the whole story, the link will be at the end!
The green lightsaber pierced through Shin’s abdomen. It burned like a thousand stars. The pain blinded her, even as the weapon was swiftly removed from her. She dropped her own weapon – an old, broken red lightsaber – and clutched the hole in her front. She felt the disgusting sensation of the naked air entering the scorch hole on her back. As her brain was screaming, still processing the fact that she had been stabbed by a lightsaber, all her muscles locked up. She tried to stay in the fight, to reach for her lightsaber again, to stand up. Her hand closed around nothing. Her legs shook under her weight. She fell on her back.
A fresh wave of pain hit her. It was so intense it made her sick. She would have puked, if she could remember how. All she could do was roll on her back, searching for light. There wasn’t any. The light of the nearby streetlight was obscured by thousands of tiny black dots exploding, like firework, in front of her eyes. Through the blurriness, she thought she saw someone looking down at her. Then, a voice echoed in her ears.
“Well, well, well, Wookie. Looks like you’re in trouble this time.”
Shin did not stop to think that it was impossible, that the owner of this voice had died a decade before, at least. Instead, she passed out.
A/N: Hello everyone! I'm back with a new multichapter story, this time it's a cowboy AU! Here is the beginning, and if you want to read the whole first chapter, the link will be at the end!
Sabine wiggled in her saddle as she struggled to find a comfortable position. She had been cleared by the doctor back in Lothal but that didn’t mean that she didn’t feel any pain anymore. The knife wound in her abdomen flared up every so often, especially after a long day on horseback. That was also why she rode behind Bo-Katan, so her partner didn’t notice that she was uncomfortable. And anyway, they were almost at Nevarro.
The city’s entrance was marked by a rectangular arch. In the letter Bo-Katan had received, they had been instructed to cross the town then follow the road into the mountains. Sabine didn’t know what to expect out of Nevarro. The town seemed animated enough, with people going about their business on either side of their horses. She spotted a group of children rushing out of the school. She heard the sharp ringing of a hammer falling on metal coming from the direction of the blacksmith. Jolly music echoed out of the bar. It seemed a typical mountain town, with ranches spread out all around it.
A notice board by the sheriff’s office caught Sabine’s attention. She recognized most of the wanted posters on there. Once upon a time, she would have gone hunting for one. But since the accident – Bo called it an accident; Sabine thought it was just the risk that came with the job – they hadn’t taken a single job. Right there in the middle was the wanted poster for the White Wolf. She had been this close to getting them too, she thought bitterly as her horse walked on by.
They left the town and Bo took a right, up into the mountains. They trotted past fences. Wine seemed to be a prominent Nevarro business, if all the vines were anything to go by. Each vine had been grown in the same T shape, all side by side, so they looked like rows of dancers holding hands.
Sabine and Bo climbed higher still, until they reached a plateau, the entrance of which was marked by an arch. Mudhorn Range was written on top. The ranch was made up of large pastures for the horses, a stable some ways away from the main house, which sat in the center, at the end of the dirt road. Beside it was the barracks for the stable hands.
They approached the main house. It was one-story, rather small for a ranch home, with a porch shadowing the front door. A little pond sat near it. When the two bounty hunters arrived, a little boy stepped away from the pond. His face was shadowed by a hat so big it looked like he had huge pointed ears. He was holding a little frog he had probably found in the pond, as the amphibian struggled to jump out of his grasp.
Bo-Katan climbed off her horse and turned to the boy.
“Your father’s here?” she asked.
“Da,” the boy yelled.
A/N: Hello everyone! I know I'm already posting a multichapter fic, but how about another one at the same time? This one is inspired by the show High Fidelity, in which Sabine and Shin are exes. It is 100% Wolfwren though, so don't worry ;) Here an extract and if you want to read the whole chapter the link will be at the end.
Ezra looks around the gallery. Yeah, it’s empty. Like I hadn’t notice. But it doesn’t matter if the place has white walls and all the light you would want, rich people have no interest in the art I’m selling. It’s too rebellious for them.
“Can I do anything to help?”
I sigh.
“You can sit by the door and pretend to be a security guard.”
“Awesome! I can do that.”
He’ll be on his phone as soon as he finishes his coffee. It means I’m free to start mulling over my exes again.
There are good ideas, and then there are bad ideas, and then there are terrible ideas. And then, there are ideas that suck so bad they might as well be black holes. Dating Leia was one of those ideas. Because we all knew, myself included, that she had this thing going on with Han, but they kept breaking up and getting back together, and I thought there wouldn’t be anything wrong if I inserted myself in the middle. I was wrong. Black hole idea.
Rey was too good for me, let’s face it. There’s a moment where, no matter how angry or bitter you are about your ex, you have to recognize the truth. I’m not delusional, just sour. Rey was too good for me. There, I admitted it. But Shin…
I can forget the others. Not forgive them, but forget them, sure. Or, at least I could when I was with Shin. We were together for three years, before she dumped me. A year later, and it still stings like a slap. She just up and left, threw three years of our life together down the drain because her father convinced her to. Her father convinced her to leave me and she did, and I didn’t even try to stop her. Rey may have been too good for me but I was too good for Shin. I realize that now. That’s why I’m planning my two hundredth painting on the theme of betrayal. Because I’m over it.
A/N: Hello everyone! Welcome to the beginning of my new fanfiction! This one is a kid fic with a side of unexpressed feelings and a serious situationship. Here is an extract and if you want to read the whole first chapter, the link will be at the end!
A circular white room had eight small rooms around three fourth of its circumference. Three circular tables, children sized, occupied the middle of the room. One stormtrooper was already down. The other was firing toward one of the rooms, his blaster set to stun. Without wasting a second, Sabine shot the stormtrooper down. Quiet returned to the experiment room. Sabine assumed the two troopers had been for her, but whatever was hiding in one of the rooms had taken this as an opportunity to rebel.
“CE-2208, what have you done?” the scientist called.
Sabine pushed her forward, toward the only occupied room. All the rooms were plunged in the dark, so she couldn’t see what was hiding there. A blaster shot rang out toward her. She felt it a second early and deflected it with her vambrace. Reaching out, she Force pulled the blaster out of CE-2208’s hands. She saw a pair of small, children’s hands in the light, fighting to hold onto the stolen blaster. Sabine frowned.
“Hey, I’m not here to hurt you, okay? I want to help.”
“Don’t make her come closer,” a girl’s voice replied.
“Alright.”
She pushed the scientist to the ground roughly. Then, she raised her hands as she approached the child.
“My name’s Sabine. What’s your name?”
“CE-2208.”
“You don’t have a real name?”
“What do you mean?”
Sabine stopped at the edge of the room – a cell, really. A cot without sheets or pillows, or even a plush. She could see CE-2208’s arm peaking in the doorway as she hid in the corner.
“You can come out. I won’t hurt, I promise.”
After a second, the girl stepped into the light. No older than eight. Dark brown hair down to her shoulders. Soft green eyes, almost blue in the artificial light. She looked at Sabine with hesitation. Sabine felt like she had been struck by lightning. The shape of the eyes. The cheekbones. The nose. It was her. But it also wasn’t her. The shape of the face. The jaw. The chin. The anger.
“What are you?” the girl asked as she looked at Sabine’s helmet.
Sabine snapped out of her shock. She whirled away from the girl like a storm and rushed to the scientist. She grabbed her by the collar of her jacket.
“What did you do?”
She shook her hard. Her anger was only held back by panic.
“My job.”
A/N: Hello everyone! I just posted the sequel to last week's one-shot, "Casual" that everyone was asking about! Here is the begining and if you'd like to read the rest, you will find the link at the end.
“You have an appointment at 10:30 tomorrow, so don’t be late.”
Sabine frowned. She tugged the phone against her ear using her shoulder then flipped through her schedule.
“Er… no, I have a flight at 9.”
“I reassigned it to someone else.”
Sabine’s frown only deepened. Shin had promised her that she would not use her position to mess with Sabine’s, even if it meant they couldn’t see each other all the time when Sabine was flying far away.
“Why?”
“You told me you had ideas you wanted to share with my father. So, I got you an appointment with him.”
Sabine’s eyes grew wide. While she had a few suggestions, at best, she didn’t think they were worth an appointment with her boss.
“Are you serious?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
A pause. Then, Shin replied, with a slight confusion:
“You do have ideas, right?”
“I mean, yeah, a few.”
Shin sighed.
“Doesn’t really matter anyway.”
“What does that mean?”
“It’s… well, he saw us at Bounty last week and he wanted to meet you. I told him you had some ideas to share but I’m sure it’s less about that and more about meeting you.”
Sabine pursed her lips. They had been dating for three months now, and while everything was going great, she hadn’t expected to meet Shin’s father – her boss – so soon.
“Is it going to be a problem?”
“No, no… I guess he’s just curious.”
A/N: Hello everyone! I just posted a new surprised one-shot inspired by the third episode of Acolyte. The demand was really big on Twitter and honestly the idea had me racing to my keyboard. Here is the begining and if you want to read the whole story the link will be at the end.
Sabine stumbled back into bed, wishing for death. Despite having puked whatever bile was in her stomach before even taking her breakfast, she still felt nauseous. She had been feeling terrible for a couple of weeks now, on and off, and while it had been easy to ignore at first, whatever sickness she had caught had been building ever since. She curled up under the blanket. She didn’t have a fever, but light cramps twisted her abdomen, and laying down in a fetal position helped.
She felt the bed dip beside her and turned around. Shin had been making breakfast for them. It was early. They were supposed to go on a mission. Shin brushed a strand of pink hair away from Sabine’s forehead.
“It’s back again?”
Sabine nodded.
“I can call the others, tell them we have to sit this one out.”
Sabine shook her head.
“You go. Help Ezra and Ahsoka. Maybe it’ll be like last time and it’ll have passed before we have to leave.”
Shin pursed her lips.
“Maybe you should take the day off this time? Actually go see a doctor?”
“It’s just a stomach bug, don’t worry about it.”
Shin looked skeptical, but after brushing Sabine’s short hair again, she returned to the kitchen. Sabine remained curled on her side, trying to figure out what had happened in the past few weeks which might be causing her sickness. She couldn’t think of anything. They had all been very busy putting out remnants of the Empire wherever they could find them. And anyway, wherever she went so had Shin. If it had anything to do with a planet they had visited, then Shin should have been sick too.
Sabine rubbed at her stomach where the muscles were cramping. She closed her eyes and focused on herself, feeling her body within the Force. Something had changed, she could feel it. She couldn’t explain it, but it felt like the Force was at its strongest in her stomach, like there was a knot there. What kind of Force sensitive parasite had she caught?
She lost track of time, dozing off until she felt the bed dip once more. Cracking her eyes, she found Shin looking at her with concern. No one would believe it – and Shin didn’t want anyone to know – but she was caring to fault when she loved someone. If Sabine asked her to stay, she would cancel the mission and cuddle with her in bed until Sabine felt better without a word of protest.
“Are you feeling better?”
“A little.”
A/N: Hello everyone! I just posted the first chapter of my bew multi-chapter story. It's a cooking AU. Here is an extract and if you want to read the whole chapter, the link will be at the end!
“Hello?” a voice came from the front.
Sabine brushed her mouth with her hands, then her hands on her jeans. She left her sandwich aside and picked up her notebook. She didn’t know what to expect when she stepped out of the kitchen. Certainly not a woman her age, with shoulder-length hair. The bottom was dyed platinum blond but she hadn’t bothered dying them again, allowing her natural dark brown to take over. Her green-blue eyes looked over Sabine as she walked around the counter and came up to her to shake her hand.
“You must be Shin Hati. I’m Sabine Wren.”
Shin’s handshake was firm.
“How long has this bar been in your family?” Shin asked.
“Oh, just… my parents started it and I’m hoping to continue it.”
Sabine pursed her lips. Perhaps opening with how close to ruin this place was wasn’t the right way to begin the interview. She motioned for the nearest table.
“Please, sit.”
They sat opposite each other and Sabine flipped through her notebook until she found the right page. She had written down a few questions and what little information she thought Shin would need.
“I was really surprised when I saw your email. I mean, you’re like an actual cook.”
Shin frowned.
“Aren’t you looking for a cook?”
“Yeah, but I mean, I thought I would get applications from fast food people, not Calodan. Why the change of career?”
Shin seemed to chew her words before she spoke them, a small wrinkle between her eyebrows as she focused.
“The way I see it, it isn’t a change of career. I would still be cooking, right?”
“Oh yeah, absolutely. I’m looking for someone to replace my friend as soon as possible. I’m not firing him. He isn’t quitting either. His help was always temporary and he got the job he wanted, so…”
Sabine trailed off. She really wanted Shin to take the position. Wren Stronghold had a reputation for being a good bar, but outside of regulars these days, they didn’t get a lot of customers. She figured if anything could turn that around, it was good food.
A/N: Hello everyone! My new E-rated one-shot in which Sabine flies private jets and Shin is her client/boss is out! Here is an extract and if you want to read the whole story the link will be at the end!
Sabine primed the plane for their descent then turned on the seatbelt sign and turned on her mike.
“This is your captain speaking. Due to tornado sightings ahead, we will be taking next chance we get to wait out the storm. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this detour will cause.”
It was never enough for those rich business people she carried, but Sabine had been taught right, and she would be damned if she caved to money when safety was concerned. The plane dipped toward the dark gray clouds below. The sun would be setting soon too. It would have been a nightmare to navigate a tornado corridor at nighttime.
Sabine was pulled out of her focus by commotion coming from outside. She heard the flight attendant arguing with another woman, their client. Sabine pushed one earphone off her ear so she could hear them arguing more clearly.
“Why is the door locked?” the client asked.
“Security measures, ma’am. Now, if you’d follow the captain’s orders-”
Sabine sighed. She’d thought at least the client would wait until they had landed to throw a tantrum, but apparently not.
“I need to speak with the captain.”
“You can’t-”
“I owe this plane, don’t tell me what I can or can’t do.”
Sabine rolled her eyes and took off her headphones. She better intervene before the situation escalated.
“Keep her steady,” she instructed Ezra.
Her co-pilot acknowledged the order with a nod. Sabine unbuckled her seatbelt and stood up. The cockpit was small, and in two steps she had reached the door. She unlocked it. Both the attendant and the client turned to her.
“Captain, she-” the attendant began.
Sabine shook her head.
“It’s alright. Go take your seat, I’ll handle it.”
The flight attendant slid away from between them, leaving Sabine to face the client. The woman had jaw-length blond hair and was wearing a gray suit, the jacket discarded on her seat and the sleeves of the shirt rolled up. Her green-blue eyes were hard with a furious glare.
