Drawing from the day @staugustinebutnotreligious and I really dug into our band au.

Kageyama is singing a background note to retune one of his strings during a song (he trusts his perfect pitch) and hoping no one notices. Hinata is gobsmacked, definitely notices, and is definitely helping by stopping his drums all together in the middle of the song to let those background vocals shine through.. yeah >:3

I know we were all just talking/thinking about how Hinata and Kageyama don't develop as well without being on the same high school team, but I do like the idea of Seijoh Hinata and the unbridled hate-fueled tension that could lead to. Idk cannon Kagehina can't be beat but there is something about more extreme rivalry and borderline enemies to lovers ya know?

There's something about knowing Kagehina will grow old together. They get to push each other to be their best, even when their bodies begin to fail. Maybe even when their minds fail. There's something about such strong men, literal international athletes, becoming as fragile as little kids again togetger. Never giving up on their competition, but having to learn how to stop and take care of each other. Slowly forgetting how they met, but trusting each other regardless. I don't know man I might have to write something heart wrenching.

Finished my band au wip! It's meant to be them as the band looking over their high school selves.

NEED a creature feature Kagehina au immediately. Sick and tired of zombies being the go to apocalypse scenario. Give me horrifying beast beyond imagination terrorizing their small town, causing some rag tag teens to step in. Give me Hinata with a metal baseball bat. Give me protective Kageyama. Give me hijinks. Give me 80s soundtrack. Give me chase scenes in the woods. Make em suffer for it

Kagehina wisdom tooth removal headcannons because my mouth ouch just woke me up and it’s too early morning to go back to bed:

Hinata-

- gets his top two removed when he is twenty due to them being at risk of squishing his big ass upper teeth into each other

- during the fasting pre op he just pouts and stares forlornly at the fridge (bro is pitifully rubbing his stomach like a colonial woman on her fourth baby during the Oregon trail)

- the second- and I mean SECOND- he takes the first calming pill he passes the fuck out. Bro has to be bodily shaken the morning of to get him out of bed

- while sedated he just stares blankly at the ceiling with his crazy eyes terrifying and traumatizing every dentist in the room

- Kageyama and Natsu are in charge of driving him home after (because heavily drugged Shoyo cannot be controlled by one person) and Natsu films literally the entire time

- once settled in at home he mostly just clings to Kageyama’s side and naps

Kageyama-

- bro gets all four with high risk of complications way later in life than most people because Lady Luck hates his ass (it goes fine he just isn’t allowed to blow his nose for a few weeks because his sinus gets bumped)

- during the pre op fasting/meds/waiting he is extremely paranoid and meticulous. He does every step perfectly without complaint is hydrated the exact maximum healthy amount possible by the time he goes in

- he somehow bribes Yachi into being his driver so Hinata won’t throw up from nerves and she spends the entire operation sweating bullets in the lobby

- shockingly friendly when drugged as it lowers his trust issues and makes him forget how threatening his smile can be (bro is giving Bruce from finding Nemo the whole time)

- he chats the dental assistant’s ear off when he’s being wheeled out, which makes him bleed a bunch and he’s stuck using the gauze for the rest of the night instead of as needed

- Hinata is waiting at home like Kageyama is at war. Drugged Tobio finds this baffling and is quite shocked to see his husband

- He sobers up fairly quick, though he still manages to humiliate himself in the mean time. The embarrassment sends him into a pouty rage and he can only be soothed with very fancy protein shakes and groveling for days

I have an ongoing Kagehina playlist with @jetjaw and I feel no one has ever been as correct in song choices for them as us, but I can’t talk about it without ruining my long term schemes to trick the entire fandom into agreeing with them via numerous online personas and several kagehina themed projects. So I’m having really normal thoughts about that right now…

Anyway! We all know how this relates I presume.

This fic is pretty smutty so be warned and no children, but it is a work of art and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Can’t sleep and tummy hurty but Kagehina always got me.

You ever think about how the entire team tried to snap him out of his nerves, but the one who did was Kageyama? You ever think the one constant in his goals for volleyball is Kageyama? You ever think about how people had shown him all the love in the world, but it wasn’t what he wanted? This piece is inspired by the idea of the group getting invited to a prestigious award show and/gala and taking the opportunity to do a photo shoot in their outfits for the night! Photo shoot concept: Tsuki “walking in” on the others

@jetjaw gave me prompts for the outfits and I ran with them. These are the ideas behind them:

Tadashi: funky 70s inspired fit

Yachi: SUPER BAGGY man suit (I took inspo from zoot suits and added some pink accessories)

Tsuki: oh please he never gets out of that damn shirt

Kageyama: office siren/pencil skirt (I steered away from the office theme but it’s in there)

Hinata: no shirt only tie

The first years band au I came up with @jetjaw is my guilty pleasure Haikyuu au. Like.

Should Yachi have extreme mommy issues that aren’t at all in line with how the series portrays them? Hell yeah pile them on. Is Tadashi the gayest fuck to ever live? Duh of course he is! Are Kagehina super messy and angsty and dramatic? Yes because it’s fun.

It’s completely inaccurate to their characters but sometimes my brain wants a bit of drama. Pizzazz even.

I am deeply enchanted by Hinata and yet I mostly follow kageyama posters and my best friend is a kageyama guy. In some ways I think this is me being true to my Hinata roots because that boy is obsessed…

Hinata realizes his queerness for the first time after focusing on his dream before anything else for his entire life. He isn’t ready to have feelings for Kageyama, but time ticks ever closer to the day he will be.

Finished that band au wip! There’s a lot of lore with this au…. Not gonna make a fic for it but I’m gonna slowly tell what @jetjaw and I have been planning…

For now here’s the basics:

They form the band in high school, but don’t really really take off till their young adults (though they have local fans in school)

Tadashi is the frontman on guitar and lead vocals, as well as the main lyricist for the band. He has always dreamed of being in a band, though he doesn’t have the raw natural talent some of the others do. He’s the one who brings everyone together at school. Him and Tsuki are still childhood friends, he’s school buddies with Yachi, he meets Kageyama in music class, and he rooms with Hinata in their school’s dorms.

Tsuki only picks up the guitar to have something in common with the only friend he tolerates, but ends up being very good at it. He’s the lead guitar, and he secretly loves it, though he never quite shakes the aloof persona. They know he loves them though, or he never would have let them talk him into that tongue piercing…

Yachi was taught piano as a kid, and it quickly became another outlet for her mother’s overly high expectations. She secretly gets into alternative music, synth, and fun keyboards to have a small sense of rebellion. As well as being the keyboard player, she becomes the producer, brand manager, and all around mom of the band. Everyone at their stuffy ass school thinks she’s suuuuuper emo for her hair and eyeliner. (None of them have ever seen an actual emo)

Kageyama is a youth symphony player, taught the bass by his grandfather. When his grandfather dies, he picks up the electric bass to breathe new life into the grief-tainted hobby. He composes a lot of their music, and is generally ridiculously skilled. Of course he dabbles in piano like the dramatic genius he is.

Hinata is the drummer, and undeniable heart of the group. When they meet at school, he’s the only one familiar with the local music scene, and opens up his rich-ass sheltered-ass friends to a freer creative approach. Though he didn’t play any instruments at all at first, Kageyama assumed he was a drummer from how many overly complex rhythms he’d tap on his desk in their shared class, and quickly resolved to get Hinata properly playing. Though he starts out a bit of the weak link, his passion and commanding presence completely transform their sound.

Cue the next several years of melodrama, exaggerated teenage culture, and pining wayyyy too far into their twenties.

I FINALLY got a new chapter of my Hinata Spiderman au up!!!!! This thing is my baby my precious my life and soul…. But like it’s whatever…. You don’t even have to read it it’s nothing….

Anyway:

Hinata Shoyo gets bit by a radioactive spider. Now he must balance a double life while family, school, work, tutoring, and the mystery of his father’s past explode around him. If he has a super slow burn romance with a guy from school along the way that’s nobody’s business. (Everything is a vessel for kagehina)

Chapter 2: Gift giving

It was weird. Kageyama was weird. He was always so damn stingy with Shouyou, especially where food was concerned; wouldn't even let him take a bite out of his meat bun, or share one of the octopus sausages from his bento. So, Shouyou was more than a little justified to feel suspicious when Kageyama started suddenly showering him with gifts.  It didn't stop at the food, no. Though, thankfully, it also didn't move on to more protection gear.  Instead, the next thing Kageyama gave him was a rock.  “It reminded me of you,” he said one day, dropping something into Shouyou's already waiting palm. “Add to the collection in your head.”
