"And what do you sacrifice?"
"Calm. Kindness. Kinship. Love.
I've given up all chance at inner peace.
I've made my mind a sunless space.
I share my dreams with ghosts.
I wake up every day to an equation I wrote 15 years ago from which there's only one conclusion: I'm damned for what I do.
My anger, my ego, my unwillingness to yield, my eagerness to fight, they've set me on a path from which there is no escape.
I yearned to be a savior against injustice without contemplating the cost and by the time I looked down there was no longer any ground beneath my feet.
What is my sacrifice?
I'm condemned to use the tools of my enemy to defeat them.
I burn my decency for someone else's future.
I burn my life to make a sunrise that I know I'll never see.
And the ego that started this fight will never have a mirror or an audience or the light of gratitude.
So what do I sacrifice?
Everything!
You'll stay with me, Lonni.
I need all the heroes I can get."

Craig Mazin explains all the events that happened in the first episode and the podcast delves into the accuracy of all the events portrayed in the episode. It's a really great mini series and very relevant in our time when our entire planet is fighting this invisible war of bringing the truth to the surface. The series is a stunning, detailed and emotional retelling of a horrific event that most of us chose to ignore blissfully and has shaped modern history. It reminds us, how humanity is our worst night mare and best hope.
Yeah, an utterly fabulous movie. I also loved Harry’s pidgin French as someone who speaks French, that was hilarious.
this movie single-handedly saved this year
holy damn now I understand why Donna slept with all three guys?!?!??
and why the guys fell for her so quick??
literally every person in the movie is a bisexual dream
young Tanya? I’m in love.
Sky got older but daaaamn he got better
the songs were so good
Colin Firth during Dancing Queen cleared my skin, watered my corps and cured my depression
young Bill could get it, like, any time
the guy checking the passports at the dock is way too relatable
the girl in the first row in the church when Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried were singing together is me
Aunt Sofia is so badass, she’s like the Grandma in Mulan
when Harry said he’s spontaneous person I literally snorted loudly
so many great references to the first movie
every single outfit Cher wore was Iconic™
Bill and Harry doing the Titanic pose during Dancing Queen
the way they cut Sophie and Sky singing One of Us in the beginning was so beautiful and smooth and probably my favourite scene in the whole movie
this:
Sophie: Sky!
Sky: I haven’t told anyone!
Sophie: I only told Sam.
Sam: I only told Bill.
Bill: I only told Harry.
Harry: I told many, many people.
seriously Dancing Queen was so good and fun I almost started clapping and cheering when it ended before I realised I’m in a movie theater and I shouldn’t
the dance in Waterloo!! young Harry didn’t get too much screen time, but that was breathtaking
I honestly didn’t want the movie to end. I just wanted two more hours of it
JUST DO A FAVOUR FOR YOURSELF AND WATCH IT
