If this post blows up or something I’ll make a part 2 going more in depth about more of it’s lore, but for now I only put down the lore relevant to the main story (without spoiling any major story plots) 😁 but anyways.. this story and lore is still a WIP and things are subject to change BUT this is the gist :3

Free Tarot Readings !
g’day all! i’ve been doing tarot for about a year now and to help myself improve i have decided to do some readings for those in need. here are my guidelines! rules/guidelines: - please give me your name! if you aren’t comfortable with giving your full name you can just use your initials. - one question per ask! i am only pulling one card for each question (for now!) - please do not DM me! i will not give you a reading if you DM me, please use my ask box! - i do not answer law/medical related questions. - please give some feedback! if you have not given me feedback i won’t read for you again. feedback not only helps me improve but it also helps me reach others. please tag me in said feedback. i also can help with dreams! if you have had a dream and are unsure as to what it means feel free to send an ask about it! i may take some time for me to get to your question, please understand that tarot can be rather draining and i sometimes need breaks! i will eventually get around to your reading!
✨Connecting with your Tarot deck✨
Regardless if you’ve got a new deck or revisiting a deck you’ve not used for a while, it’s a great idea to connect with it so it can become in tune with you.
The more you connect with your Tarot deck the more it’ll connect with you!
Here are some ways you can connect with your deck:
Interview your deck
This is a really great way to get to know your deck, how it can help you, why it came into your life at the time it did etc. there are loads of deck interview spreads to choose from! I’ll do a post about that.
Put it under your pillow while you sleep
This is a great way to put your energy into your deck, and you can develop a subconscious bond with your deck too. I highly recommend connecting with your deck this way!
Take them with you EVERYWHERE
Even if you don’t plan on using them, take your deck everywhere with you. The more your deck is with you the more it’ll connect with you.
Meditate with your deck
Especially if you do meditation anyway, sit and meditate with your deck. Visualise your energy going into the deck ✨

The Drowned and The Path of Stars.
Both somewhat inspired by the Netflix series, Hilda. The Draugen captain was so cool looking, and the deer fox home was so beautiful.
The Stranger, The Corridors, and The Eye.
Inspired by The Magnus Archives. The Corridors being Michael and Helen’s hallways.
The Artist, The Scholar, and The Astronomer.
The Artist is creativity and expression, The Scholar is curiosity and dedication, the Astronomer is patience and observation.
The Forest, The Mountain, and The Armor.
This is where I start making up new cards. The forest is a balance of finding wonder and losing your path. The mountain is perspective. Armor is vulnerability and guardedness.
The Fool, The Lovers, and The Universe.
The Fool is my character from the role playing game Under Hollow Hills. Skadi is the Hobbled Hound and a carnival barker.
Used Catradora as a pose reference for The Lovers because that IS love.
The Devil, The Star, and Strength.
I’m no tarot aficionado, but I interpreted strength as solitary strength verse group strength. The Star is an owl-wolf if you can make out the eye, feathers, and talons.
The Wheel, The Sun, and The Magician.
My Pride got me drawing lesbian lions.
Judgement, Justice, and Temperance. Because nothing says Judgement like a looming goat face in the sky, and nothing says Temperance like a nice pot of tea. And Justice is a fragile thing that needs to be defended. I had fun with the color schemes on Justice and Temperance. Judgement was an early one where I was still being restrained with my use of color.
Quarantine Tarot Cards. Most don’t actually follow the deck, because I did this for fun not for professional accuracy.

Ukrainian Night Tarot
I’ve been searching for a Ukrainian Deck since I started reading cards, so you have no idea how excited I was when I saw Mariya Tobischek (dvodushnyk // oldgodstemple on ig) doing art for the cards. But now the kickstarter for the whole deck is live.

Absolutely, I love doing readings!
This is the entire thing! The top part is confirming your twin flame, and the bottom details your connection.
These top two, the Ace of Wands and the reversed King of Wands, are saying that through efforts on both parts, this might be a twin flame relationship- but like all relationships, it will need work. It also sounds like D is a loving person, who cares very deeply for you!
The bottom two, the reversed Four of Wands and the reversed Chariot, are saying that while the feeling is most likely mutual, now is not the time to build on this. A twin flame relationship is possible- and the connection is there! But baby steps, my friend. Baby steps.
What do readings entail?
Typically, tarot, but if asked, I can do runes or oracle cards. I would ask though that we stay away from past life readings- I’m not great at those, and y’all deserve the best- and that askers give me a specific question. I’ll develop an FAQ soon!

I do indeed do free readings! Faeries are my specialty.
Why he is helping you: the Three of Wands
Building a firm foundation- more patience and planning are needed before all pieces are in place.
He wants something from you, most likely. He’s getting all his ducks in a row first.
How he found you: the Two of Wands
Awaiting results from something you have started. Be certain the end result is really what you want.
You are likely working on something he would see completed. I can pull another card, but I would rather talk privately about this one- make sure this is something you really want to know.
How he feels about you: the Nine of Swords
Keep quiet and listen; you will find out something that will help you better your life. A cycle of completion follows a job well done.
This can be read one of two ways: 1) he’s not quite ready to interact with you yet, but he wants to help you with this project. When he is ready, you’ll learn something from him, or 2), he feels no attachment to you. You’re a means to an end.
Try to get a better understanding of his motives. If this endgame of his doesn’t harm you, you might let it play out. He’ll probably move on, or maybe he’ll teach you something anyways for your trouble. But, if his endgame will harm you in any way, you need to get rid of him.

Deck Interviews and why they are Important!
Hi guys, it’s Mai, and I happen to have a special post today!
Today we will be learning why deck interviews are important- for tarot and oracle cards. You see, every deck is different. Even tarot decks. Even mass produced decks! Each deck has its own individual personality, and I don’t think a lot of people realize this.
Each time I get a new deck of any divination card, I conduct a simple deck interview:

As you interpret the cards, write it down, like you’re writing a paper for work or school. You’ll find it’s easier to understand when it’s not “reversed magician, upright 3 of swords?? What????”
Remember, each deck is different. My Silmarilion Oracle deck is a very pessimistic deck, but it gives you straight facts. My demonic arcana deck (by @crimson-chains and @kaizuart ) is very eager to please, but might try too hard sometimes.
(But seriously go look at the art for the demonic arcana deck it’s gorgeous)
I learned these things about my decks by asking them. You won’t get anywhere with them without making an effort!
I find that working one at a time is best, if you’re kinda busy, and tbh, runes are pretty easy to learn. Once you get the hang of runes, move on to tarot; it’s like paper runes!

So i feel like runes are calling my name and i want to learn about them... but im also still learning tarot and i have a long way to go.
Fellow witches, any advice? Should i study both at the same time or is it best if i learn tarot first and then runes? Whats your experience?

hello my witchy folks, I just had a quick question: does it matter at all where you buy a tarot deck from?
I want to buy a Rider-Waite deck as my first to learn, but being a college student, Amazon is the best and cheapest option for such a purchase, but for some reason it just seems a little weird to me to buy something like this just from amazon. I would love to be able to support a small business instead, but there aren’t any new age stores near me and obviously, as i’m in college, i don’t have many funds at the moment. I kinda doubt this matters, but I just wanted to know other thoughts on it and if I’m just being crazy or not.
