Spoilers for Tokyo Debunker EP. 7!!!
Holy Christ what the hell-
Okay, firstly,
Amazing. Loving this.
Secondly,
You're telling me this mf has been feeding other mermaid flesh, taking their blood, and injecting it into himself as a form of immunotherapy???
I genuinely had to pause for a second when Yuri said subca. Subcutaneous immunotherapy cuz I was like "wait this has been explained before"
Lmao everyone else just goes psycho but THIS guy specifically gets to go
Flesh Kraken Mode
Imma read the rest now. Brb
Tokyo debunker episode 7 spoilers
Don't like that. Don't wanna do that.
Firstly, absolutely crazy reaction time. Secondly, LOVE the design of Jiro's chainsaw. Third, Yuri's panic is hilarious.
MAN, I WONDER WHY. I WONDER WHY THERES A MASSIVE INCISION ON HIS ABDOMEN.
Hmm.... HMM.... Dionysia house... Also, Why is Moby such a dick??? Like dude, why are you even here??? Not ur students, not ur concern.
Yeah, still don't trust him one bit. He did still lie about when the curse activates, and what happens when it does, so he is NOT off the hook yet. He's so unbelievably suspicious.
Spoilers for episode 7 of Tokyo Debunker (typing suggestions wrote this this time)
I love him. And the tree is getting better!!! Yay!!!
I'm sorry, but the whiplash going from "we're breaking into a hospital" to "the love tree is healing" to "slacker and paralegal talk ramen" is killing me.
"oh, I'm just a clerk. The manager is over there." And he points to a fuckin cat. I swear Cats are like the lizard people of Darkwick Campus. Students are chatting in the hall like "I hear we're having a sub today" "I swear to God if the sub is another goddamn cat I'm gonna lose my mind" "c'mon dude, we both know it's gonna be a cat, don't kid yourself."
Tokyo debunker spoilers for episode 7!
Wow, every chapter is like a freight train I swear-
SO! FIRSTLY;
So, the Kudan either means MC is the tragedy, or MC will stop the tragedy. Likely stop, as it says Champion SINGULAR, but this is... It's clearly pointing towards IS. And by pointing to, I mean explicitly stating it. But this game has also explicitly stated several things that turned out to be lies, so still.
Sorry, I love this shot, cuz u have an actual member of the staff walking around giving a tour, being trailed by a curious girl, a salty-as-hell teenage boy in a lab coat with toothpaste colored hair, and Frankensteins apathetic monster who looks like a serial killer from a horror movie ten minutes before they decide to go serial killer.
First of all, missing injection needles??? That clearly has very much to do with us. Like that's absolutely a concern, considering undocumented injection is kinda the name of the game here.
Secondly, can't wait to break into a hospital after hours to steal shit. Truly a great idea. That won't get us in trouble at all.

Spoilers. Again. Tokyo Debunker 7.
What is this, the Phantom of The Opera? I mean I suppose it's useful, but catacombs feels like a bit much. Just put a Galaxy express down there or something.
... So, hold on. If that's the case, why did a demon take Luca's brother? And why do demons make pacts? For a side effect, Luca's demon seems pretty adamant on killing him. Actually, why would Luca be so confident his brother isn't dead? And that the demon is keeping him somewhere? Whatever, loving the exposition either way, not loving that Darkwick literally did lie about the ghouls, but i'm loving the exposition.
Spoilers for chapterrrr 7? Of Tokyo Debunker
Hm. Alright. Gimme a second I just watched an episode of White Collar my brains going kinda slow-
Jiro really is one hell of a character
And one hell of an amnesiac. Wdym he doesn't remember???
So, so far, we have 2 students with O negative blood, given an undocumented injection at Darkwick General, who proceeded to kill themselves, get back up, and kill themselves again.
(I should also mention that he hasn't actually opened the report Leo handed us yet, and I am very much anticipating MC getting yelled at when he does.)
Because Darkwick sucks. Hell, seeing as Luca is a ghoul, I'm pretty sure even the method of getting ghoulified was a lie. And Professor Nicholas absolutely WOULD do something like that. Whether to test the exact limits of his anomalous medicine or something entirely different- look, her first mistake was assuming any member of the Darkwick staff was at all morally sound.
And that was just the first 2 chapters! I got, like, 8 more to read right now! I will be back!
Man they weren't lying the rates in this game are fucking mean
Four accounts, a ton of pulls each, only SSR I've gotten at all so far and it's a damn WARDING CARD.
I mean, it's Sho, so I'm not like inconsolable, I mean look at him, but I am ANGRY. THE CHARACTER CARD TvT PLEASE
It would seem people disagree with my theory that Haku is the traitor.
All I have to say is that you are in for a rude awakening. He has you all wrapped around his little finger and I am living for it >:3
Genuinely don't mean this is a demeaning or derogatory way, if I end up being proven wrong then I will take all the tomatoes to the face, and you may all feel free to mock me and bully me for the rest of time, and I'm not calling anyone dumb or naive for not agreeing with my theory cuz that would be dumb and naive of me, I'm just saying.
One day, somewhat far in the future, I will get my vindication. You'll see. YOU'LL ALLLL SEE.
This theory is far more out there but I have one more- MC might end up being a renegade/revolutionary as well. This one probably won't come to fruition but so far it seems like they've at least planted seeds for the idea.
(pls don't take this as me saying 'dont disagree with me in the comments'. I love getting to hear opposing arguments. I am just a very passionate person when it comes to theories)
... Huh.
Hold on. Every ghoul made a pact with a demon. Every ghoul survived a pact with a demon- whether from devouring them or in Lucas case, accidentally tricking them.
What the hell did Kaito do. He's a ghoul. With a Stigma. He made a pact. I mean, obviously I'm curious about what pacts everyone made, who wouldn't be, but how did the stumbling held-together-by-a-piece-of-twine boyfailure that is Kaito manage to beat a demon, whether in wits or strength? Idk man maybe he's the traitor lmao. I'm only half joking. Still dead convinced it's Haku but wouldn't Kaito be a funny twist?
Dude.
Did all this in 12 days and I still can't fucking pass case 57 r u kidding me
... This entire time.
I have been spelling Tohma's name wrong. This entire time. AND NONE OF YOU TOLD ME???
C'mon, there's like, at least three of you, and NO-ONE THOUGHT TO TELL ME ITS SPELLED TOHMA???
I'm not going back and correcting my posts cuz that would be absurd but it's now written in stone forever that I absolutely suck at reading.
For future reference, for my own sake, Tohma as in... Tohmatoes. not as in Thomas. Never as in Thomas.
Tokyo debunker spoilers for Episode 7!!!
Twas rejected. Like immediately. No hesitation. Damn. Tall dark and more tall did not want MC to have his number.
Do not trust him one bit. MC is already late to give Yuri the file, now she's prolly gonna end up giving him a piece of paper with the words "rot in hell Frankenstein's monster" on it. Directed at Yuri. To piss him off.
Big fan of whatever this is.
"you a cop?"
First of all, BITCH.
Second of all, GENUINELY SUCH A BITCH.
Third of all, why would Jiro???? Do that??
Not a very Ha ha thing to say tbh. Like. ???
Yuri is gonna kill herrrrrrrrr especially with whatever tampering Leo did to the file she's so deaddddddd
Just finished chapter 14 of episode 7 of Tokyo Debunker! So! Spoilers for those!
OkayokayokayokayWAIT hold on.
First of all, Yuri can't tell his tea lol loser, THE CURE DIDNT WORK. I knew it. That would be too easy.
Secondly, pls do not inject her with possibly lethal random anomaly juice. That would be very very bad actually.
Thirdly, they REALLY hate Frostheim, huh? And the General Hospital. And lack of money. And. Work. And- okay do they like anything actually
Why even would her curse be an allergen? That seems way off-base. It's absolutely not. An allergen would have her coughing and sneezing and feeling weak. She seems fine.
That's all I had to say. Just before I forgot. Besides that, say hello to the funniest screenshots I have thusfar taken in this game
Batshit crazy. I wanna show my friends cuz it's funny but I just absolutely can't cuz they'd assume I'm playing PORN: The Game.
Wait. Hold on. Hold up.
Nvm. I was thinking "then what the hell is Ruis?" Then I re-read it and realized he said anomalous illnesses.
I had a sneaking suspicion this won't work. Will that end up being because MCs curse isn't technically an "anomalous illness"?
Okay I feel like I've been playing this game and posting about this game for too long without any sort of actual opinions so I'm gonna now talk nonsense about The Traitor™
First of all, we know very little about this traitor. We know it's a ghoul, (obviously,) we knew them B4 we met Taiga, Taiga knows we know them, it's been brewing for a while, and objectively that's kinda it. Like that's pretty much all we know.
So, what does that mean? We can cross out Subaru and Zenji, anyone from Obscuary, anyone from Sinostra probably and probably any of the first years too, meaning Sho, Leo, Ren, Ritsu, and Lyca. And Luca too ofc, since he's a transfer. And Kaito. I mean look at him. He's a mess.
Who does that leave? Jin and Thoma, Alan, Towa and Haru, Haku, and Mortkranken.
Yuri has too obvious of a god complex to make him being a traitor creative or a twist at all, and Haru is stretched way too thin for that.
Jin, Thoma, Towa, Haku, Yuri and Jiro.
Jiro seems like he's being held together by a piece of string ngl, and he doesn't seem to be focused enough to make a careful and calculating traitor.
Jin, Thoma, Towa, Haku, Jiro.
Towa, as aggressive as he may have been before as evidenced by his dialogue with Ed, is currently obsessed with love of all forms, cares deeply for Haru, an anomalous dog, and even an anomalous tree. He may be capable of betraying everyone, but it doesn't seem like he would.
Jin, Thoma, Towa, Haku.
Jin is rich, has a powerful Stigma, has status, and clearly is far more concerned about himself than others. On top of that, he appears bossy and unconcerned, with more than enough time to plan traitorous activities. But he's also been seen saving Luca, Kaito, MC, and some random kid, then saving Luca and MC again, then slapping Luca for putting MC in a potentially dangerous position. Also, with how often Thoma and MC enter his room, it would be next to impossible to hide possible 'plans'.
Jin, Thoma, Haku.
Thoma is suspicious, seemingly loyal, regularly has midnight rendezvous with another captain, and wears a monocle. He also has a powerful Stigma, as we have literally seen him use it to level a building. Ngl, he would make a convincing traitor. But there is one more option that seems, storytelling wise, far more compelling.
Haku.
Firstly, he's one of the few people Taiga would know MC knows. He was there when Taiga nearly threw her off the train. And honestly, the fact Taiga remembered him enough to not have to ask who he was is kinda concerning in of itself. What's more is that Haku's reaction wasn't "don't do that, it's gonna kill her" but instead "I don't want to see that, I don't want to have to tell the academy," and "I'm not tryna swipe your prey."
Secondly, what house is Haku in? That's right, Hotarubi. A house for the creative and those value individuality and difference. We know Subaru is an actor, and Zenji plays the Biwa. But what of Haku? To my knowledge, he doesn't have an exclusively *him* artistic hobby. You can't exactly make traitorous plans without a bit of creativity though.
And yes, Zenji does usually follow him, which would usually make it difficult to get plans made, but what do we learn nearly as soon as we walk into Hotarubi? The students there are extremely respectful of others privacy. And with Haku actually being able to see Zenji, he's probably about as easy to hide things from as any other student.
How did Haku act when he saw Lyca stuck in that cell? He didn't seem very surprised. Pretty much the first thing he said was that it could happen to any of the ghouls. He was also the only one to know about the Hotarubi teahouse, is one of two people so far in Darkwick to own a skeleton key, and remind me how he reacted when MC said they need to stay out of trouble for the Gala?
Haku: "So the fate of the Gala depends on whether or not is Ghouls stay out of trouble? Oof."
That alone isn't very suspicious, I mean all the other ghouls get into trouble like it was what they were born to do, but when Zenji says it'll be a paradise in no time, Haku says "Hey now, don't put words in our mouths." Also not too suspicious, but it would be pretty damning foreshadowing.
And what about his Stigma? We still don't know it. All the other ghouls we either see their Stigma in action, know exactly what it does, or just never see/hear of it. It seems pretty pointed that Haku is the only person who MC asks and she *conveniently* gets cut off while asking.
Plus, the juxtaposition of The game starting with Taiga trying to kill MC and Haku saving her, and it possibly ending with Haku being a traitor and Taiga being the only one that knew, would be really satisfying.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something more, and I'll add it here later if i am, but first I have a character design thing about Haku to point out.
Look at these characters' eyes. Look closely. Now this is gonna seem like a bunch of complete nonsense I'm about to say, (stay with me here,) but I'm gonna say it anyway. Firstly, Jiro. Eyebags, rectangular eyes, looking away from the camera, that little highlight in his eyes is very small, and he doesn't seem to be squinting at all. Tired, fairly stoic, non-sociable characters have eyes like that. His eyes are also red, usually a staple for characters that are either seen as dangerous by others or secretive.
Leo, on the other hand. Firstly, the highlight is on the other side of his eye. From what I've seen, the only other character like that is Yuri. By the looks of it, in this case it means a character is shady. Or it means nothing. Case by case. The shape seems fairly ubiquitous, if a bit lidded, but the *color* of his eye? Yellow is the most common eye color for snakes.
What does this mean? On its own, absolutely nothing to do with the topic. This way just a segue into mentioning Haku's eyes.
His base expression alone seems to be of fear. His eyes are sharper than others, both his irises and his pupils are practically needle width, and, much like Leo's, his eye color is that of a snake.
Look at him. His irises don't even reach the bottom of his eyes. He was built to look suspicious and psychotic.
(smth I used to confirm my obvious suspicion ↓)
(I tried to look up stuff about the knot earring he's wearing, I swear I looked it up before and it meant luck, apparently it's a Buddha Knot..?)
I still don't know how to end these, so... Lucky summoning!
Spoilers for episode 7 of Tokyo debunker
Oh my christ-
How the hell did they get a mermaid???
Love the medical exposition for how curses work. Don't love that MC how to touch a corpse.
Oh my god, he showed emotion. "Too" doesn't mean him?
Same, MC. Same.
... Bro-
Tall dark and chronically ill may be my new favorite character lmao; he is *constantly* spacing out.
Love that Yuri's thoughts on people's nickname for Jiro isn't "that's so cruel and untrue to who he is" but "that's so fucking idiotic it's Frankenstein's MONSTER"
Didn't expect to see him shirtless tho.
Anyway; listen to Great Vacation by Dirt Poor Robins. And Love Me Not by Ravyn Lenae.
(the only reason I got 2 done in a day is bc I got a fourth SR card yesterday :3)
Spoilers for episode 7 of Tokyo debunker
First of all,
"Cheater" I love him. His boyfriend is annoying, but Sho is awesome.
Secondly,
Someone's gonna spread a rumour that he was eating a person, won't they... Just a hunch.
They care so much :') they're so concerned it's killing me. Also it would seem Tokutaisei is EXTREMELY obvious with her discomfort lol.
Bro hears footsteps from behind him and immediately pulls out his swords r u kidding me
again, no way this works, but PLEASE LET THIS WORK.
There's a good chance the reason it doesn't work is related to Yuri's presumed lack of understanding regarding the curse, since the only way to cure it would be for her to forget it, which seems less and less possible with each chapter, but I'm really excited to see why it ends up failing.
Nearly forgot to tag this lol. Also R U KIDDING ME. FINALLY SOMEONE OPEN TO DISCUSS AT LEAST SOMETHING REGARDING THE CLASH AND HE DOESNT EVEN REMEMBER IT???
Tokyo debunker EP 7
WOW. Okay. Turns out the false sense of security thing DID work on me.
I was so shocked I forgot to screenshot the comic panels-
As soon as it starts, Alan watches a zombie commit suicide. What the FUCK- and then it cuts to Mao just going about her day??? Lovely dialogue, but DUDE.
Speaking of the dialogue, Salacious isn't *exactly* the word I would use for Lyca. Pretty sure he's the furthest thing from it, actually.
In other news, they're back to treating MC like the most precious thing on earth. Lyca doesn't seem to get it tho. Which, fair. So far it's been Jin, Towa, and Ed. And Haku. Not sure if Zenji counts. With Ed and Zenji tho that just seems like how they act.
If MC gets pulled away and can't eat lunch with Lyca and Subaru I *will* kill someone.
Spoilers through EP. 6 of Tokyo Debunker!!
Okay. Wow. Hm. First of all
Love how they actually stand up for her LMAO.
Second of all, TEN MONTHS??? she only gets ten. Months. R U KIDDING.
Third of all,
Is she okay??? Is this gonna be a reoccurring thing from now on??? Is it bcuz she was thinking of Kyklos? (Just realized they never said the name yet in-game, ngl I skimmed the wiki a bit B4 playing. You'd think I'd know what happens in the story, but somehow the wiki contains very few spoilers.)
Also,
This is cute. This is adorable. AND HE BIT HIS ARM SO SHE COULD GET AWAY! Curious as to how he didn't get injured from that, but still.
Also, little bat Ed.
Second appearance of Bat Ed. I feel like a kid at a candy store rn with these silly little goobers and all the loreee.
Not liking Darkwick recently. Seems, uh. Seems pretty corrupt. Ngl. Not a fan.
:3 aw. Tokutaisei; The Ghoul Tamer! Best there ever was.
Also liking the funky little outfits they show up to the Chancellors office in. Look schnazzy. Just realized I've never actually seen that word spelled out before.
"not compatible" my ass. MC is gonna compatible the FUCK outta those ghouls.
"humans and Anomalies are not compatible" I know it's only been like half an hour since I played this part but I JUST got what he meant by that within context.
Stay close to the ghouls if u turn *because you would be an anomaly, and thus not compatible with humans.* I'm so dumb.
Though I can't believe Ed actually thinks humans and Anomalies aren't compatible. Have you *seen* some of the shit humans have domesticated?? They got elephants and whales doing tricks, anomalies are nothing. And Ghouls are still just special people!!
Also love him practically blackmailing the Chancellor.
One more thing!
There's no way that works. We got a week until Episode 14 drops, there's no way this isopropyl alcohol does Jack shit. Not a chance. Love that they gave the mad scientist a DNA earring tho.
Oh yeah, and happy Subaru's Birthday everyone! Apparently he literally won an award for his acting before. I would attach that screenshot too but the app only allows ten 😞
As per usual, spoilers for episode 6 of Tokyo Debunker
Okay so uh. What.
Alan, Rui, Ed, Towa, Jiro. Starting to think Towa may have actually murdered that dude.
Yes, that scene with the tree was sweet and I loved it, but the scene with him and Ed was CONCERNING.
"to think you of all people would grow so fond of something so small and weak. Tell me, what inspired this change of heart?" Plus his sheer strength and powerful Stigma, yeah he could totally kill someone. And judging by Eds words, the old him probably would've as well.
No clue what's going on with Barometz. Apparently Lyca is deathly afraid of any and all girls that aren't MC though.
Ed is a little bitch I've decided. "The plainest of them all" bitch I could kill you with garlic powder don't even. "Not a whiff of sensuality" ????? What does that even m e a n
At the very least I'm glad the others can point out sexual harassment??? Lmao.
I mean... Aroace mc? I'm kidding I swear I know this is practically an otome- I just think it would be really funny if that was what he meant. Also I'm Aroace-
Oh yeah, more instances of MC being treated like the most precious thing in the world.
Also, I like to think that Lyca gets his insults directly from Subaru. "Moth-eaten Casanova" "blond gigolo" those don't seem like words most people on the campus would ever use, and Lyca knows literally one other person he could've learned it from.
Just find it really funny that the kind and apologetic pushover Subaru is probably calling the other ghouls names like *that* behind closed doors with someone he trusts.
That's all! I spent 6 bucks on gems for this game to get to VIP 2 and it got me to like VIP 1½... I'm gonna have to wait like another week to get all my milestone gems istg TvT I should've googled it first
Just watched a team-building tutorial for Tokyo Debunker. Pls help.
Turns out, before watching that, I made possibly the worst choices for which character cards to level.
... I chose debuffers. That need to die. To debuff. I'm gonna jump- IM AT LEAST 200 LIMIT BREAK FRUITS IN THE HOLE AND I DONT EVEN *KNOW* HOW MUCH EXP FRUITS, IM GONNA JUMP
Spoilers for episode... 6? I think? Of Tokyo Debunker.
Okay. So. 10-20 is a LOT of information. Christ.
First of all, not very important just kinda funny, MC is so desensitized to everyone's flirting that Rui goes "sweet dreams, cutie!" And she's just like "oh, okay." Which I find hilarious
Secondly, there was something about his curse he didn't want to discuss. Whether out of secrecy or just embarrassment, I don't know, but either way.
I also find it *really* cute that when she's called in about Lyca, he's like "nope. I did nothing wrong, it's not my fault, leave me alone." And as soon as she starts looking sad about it he immediately switches up and goes "ugh fineeee I'll TRY to double think before I resort to violence next time."
Darkwick might've killed Neros. Ngl. Wouldn't be surprised.
Also, my timeline as is seems to be
1. Lyca gets taken to Darkwick
2. Murder
3. Clash (because of murder) (happens during Gala?) (kills Zenji?)
4. Houses defunct
And that's about all I got for the timeline.
Speaking of; the suspects for the murder.
I believe it was Alan, Towa, Jiro, Rui and Edward? Alan has already killed someone, but that someone has 2 eyes so I think we can rule him out. Towa, I want to rule him out but without knowing why he's a suspect that feels like the wrong way to go. Jiro I can't really speak for bc I've met him like twice in game so far. Rui as a suspect would've either been a horrible accident or just prejudice from his curse. Ed seems like he would murder someone. And not care. Just a hunch. But idk if that's enough to convict him.
So basically I have no clue. I wanna say either a freak accident involving Rui, or Ed did it on purpose, but what the hell do I know.
Had to Google what gigolo meant cuz I thought it was just like a clown but the actual definition makes it so much funnier r u kidding me. Lyca's basically saying "fuck off harlot" Everytime he speaks to Rui I love this
Also I can count like 4 times now that the story has treated MC like a precious stone and I love it sm. Haru in the bar, Zenji saying how much Haku and Towa talk about her, Jin slapping Luca for leaving her alone in Vagastrom, and now Rui making them both part-timers but having Lyca do all the work while MC just relaxes.
Also, call me crazy but I am not a fan of Professor Nicholas. He seems suspicious and idk why. Like why was he so eager to leave as soon as he saw MC? Is it because he was caught slacking and getting drunk while meant to be researching her curse? Lol
Also I don't think the drinks being technically non-alcoholic makes it any better. Especially if it's anomalous plants that make u tipsy instead. Isn't that just like... Liquefied drugs? He's serving drug tea. No way that's more legal than serving them alcohol.
OH, AND WHY DOES EVERYONE ALWAYS GLOSS OVER THE CLASH??? like I get story wise it's for "suspense" and "mystery" but CMON.
Any. Time. She tries to ask about the Clash it gets shot down IMMEDIATELY. Like I get that it's a "sensitive topic" or wtv but like dude, if we're going to hold the Gala again, the thing that presumably started the clash, shouldn't we be researching it so we at least know what NOT to do???
That's all I have for the next... *Looks at calender* month, probably. These take so fuckin long. The cases I mean, not posting. LIKE LOOK AT THIS
ONE. I GOT ONE ENEMY DOWN. 810 THOUSAND POWER AND I GOT ONE ENEMY DOWN.
Help. There needs to be like. A battle calculator for Tokyo Debunker cases. Someone make this happen. I. Don't know code.
Like I need a site where I can input my cards and their levels and gear and whatnot and the case I'm on and it just spits out where to put what. Pls
Okay, so I found the thing I was looking for if anyone can explain this *rummaging through bag*
THIS. WHAT IS THIS.
They never mention it again, nothing ever happens with it (to my knowledge, though I've only played up to Obscuary) but it seems PRETTY IMPORTANT.
It happens right after the veil turns into a ring, Romeo shows up and so does this... Whatever it is.
It's real. It's there. Everyone can see it. Luca is even wary about MC for a bit because of it. But nothing. Actually. Happens.
How did it get there? Why was it there? Why did it disappear when the chancellor arrived? Why did Luca say it was our fault? What even is it? Where did it go?
It appeared right after Romeo shot his bullet and Luca used Ignaim. Ignnaim? Iggnaim? Ignaiim? Pretty sure there's some double letter in there.
Was it the rings way of protecting MC when it stopped being the Hera's Snakes? If it happened right after Luca used his stigma, is it connected to him?
Most importantly, why did literally no-one mention it? Right after it disappears, the only one to ever even remember it existed is Luca, and he gets over it pretty quickly.
Kaito never mentions it, and Romeo quickly recovers to chase after Kaito, (though I don't think he ends up being allowed to,) but it seems like a pretty damn important thing to ignore.
So, my question stands, what the hell was that?
So. Genuine question about Tokyo Debunker lore.
What's the difference between demons and Anomalies? Can anomalies become demons? Can demons be created by fear/want like Anomalies? What do they need when they say ghouls are made when someone devours a demon?
I ask this because I have a theory that Kyklos may end up becoming a demon and making a deal with MC. Problem being that I can't seem to find any clarification on the former questions.
So... Any clarification is welcome and appreciated. Please help. Also I swear there was a scene with a massive demon/anomaly behind MC as the veil changed to a ring; what ever happened to that?
Tokyo debunker spoilers... Again.
OM MY GOD I WAS SO RIGHT. JUST STARTED THE CHAPTER IMMEDIATELY, BOOM, THE FUCKERS ARM FELL OFF. JESUS CHRIST.
Okay- I still have a bit more available to read so I'm gonna put this in my drafts, but first, just gotta say, I love Lyca with all my heart. Brb
Okay yeah there was only one more- jeez it's gonna take a while to get the others 😮💨
Okay! So- first thoughts, absolutely love Lyca, dog boy is so cute and kind and kdjrbfejjfbdbd he's the best.
More than a bit concerned about Moby's requirements with aiding in the Gala. Reminds me of Crowley from Twisted Wonderland. Pathetic, demanding, and in love with blackmail.
Rui is. Concerningly flirty. NGL. He's cool and all, but I am not a fan of how much he keeps ignoring Lyca >:( that is my son and u will respect him.
Vampire guy is. Um. He might have depression ngl. Or some hysteric psychotic version of such.
Also- they felt the need to censor a missing arm but somehow they didn't feel the need to censor ANYTHING in chapter 2? Or Taiga eating a like dove? No?
Genuinely tho Lyca is so sweet, not surprising bc he spent so long with Subaru, but seriously MC gets a trauma flashback and immediately Lyca is like "nope. Sit down. I wanna stand, sit down." He's so sweet.
Anywho, that's all, I will be back in like a year (or however long it'll take for me to do the next case and read the next section. Knowing the cases, I may have underestimated when I said a year.)
TOKYO DEBUNKER SPOILERS THROUGH HOTARUBI
Okay, so, that was worryingly normal.
The mission went off nearly without a hitch, Zenji is a ghost, Lyca is getting released, Subaru's bit "secret" is that his power isn't exactly what he said it was, Haku is probably the Traitor but besides that he didn't do anything concerning, I just.
No disturbingly visual depictions of gore. No incredibly immoral actions taken by any of the characters. Just a charismatic celery stick, a shy ex-actor, and an eccentric ghost.
Something terrible is going to happen next episode. I can feel it. This is like the calm before the storm. The storm of gore. And murder. And was that a vampire? That was a vampire at the end there.
I'm scared. I'm excited, but I am so incredibly on edge. Either the writers realized that the first few chapters were a bit much, (god I hope that's not what happened,) or this is fake and something terrible is going to happen. I really hope it's the second one.
I love this game. I can't shut up about it.
May I just say- as a new Tokyo Debunker player, (as of last week,) currently in Hotarubi episode (have been for half of that week, pls help me I can't fail these cases anymore I wish Taiga just threw us out that window-) I am extremely scared to keep playing.
I mean, Episode one, scary, episode 2, horrifying, episode 3, Haru almost died, episode 4 was sorta tame if you ignore... Taiga's existence.
But between the lack of gore in EP. 4 and the lack of gore in EP. 5 (that I've played so far) I am extremely worried for what is to come. This feels like the calm before the storm.
My guard is constantly up I am so prepared to have a corpse or two hurled at me while playing this game I refuse to fall for a false sense of security ALSO PLEASE HELP ME PASS THESE CASES I CANT SEE "DEFEATED" ONE MORE TIME HOW THE HELL DO I WIN THIS 50 IS KICKING MY ASS
oh yeah and Tumblr is now my personal sounding board for Tokyo Debunker related thought hijinks
Tokyo debunker spoilers up to EP. 5 ish (far as I am right now)
So! That traitor Taiga was talking about. I have some theories. Of course, it's only been a chapter since I heard about the traitor, so it's probably all horribly wrong, but they are theories.
I'm bad at mapping out my thoughts, so let's start with who I think WOULD be the traitor, then narrow down who COULD be the traitor.
Actually, first I wanna ask what the hell traitor means *exactly.* (How to do italics on Tumblr still eludes me)
I'm going purely off memory here, though I did the chapter maybe the day before yesterday so it should be fresh on my mind, but I don't believe Taiga specified literally anything about what he means when he says Traitor. Whether he means a traitor to the school, the ghouls, or all of humankind, we don't know. (Or at the very least I don't right now.)
There's only two things that seem clear to me. (Besides them being a Ghoul.) One is that, whatever they're a traitor to, it's quite significant. Taiga seems entirely unbothered about burning down everything he's worked for after all, as if he thinks it's going to happen anyway.
Two is that, and take this with a grain of salt because it might just be conjecture, MC already knew the traitor by the time she had that "conversation" with Taiga. Though this is taken entirely from his phrasing of "keep letting him fool you".
So who *would* be the traitor? Out of everyone in the game I've met so far, not many of them come to mind. Well, that might be a lie.
In Frostheim I can only think of Thoma. (I'm like 80% sure that was his name.) Kaito and Luca seem too good natured, despite Kaito's cowardice and Luca's eagerness. Jin doesn't seem concerned enough with... Well, anything, to be a traitor. He gave away a yacht, for Christ's sake. What kind of Traitor does that for someone they met like a month ago??
Thoma on the other hand seems to fit the bill almost entirely. He's calculated, doesn't share his thoughts much, has a connection with someone high up, seems loyal enough, fits the bill almost entirely. Hell, he even has late-night rendezvous with someone (a convicted murderer no less) from an "opposing" dorm. The only real problem seems to be that his schedule is filled.
That, and the fact that I have yet to see any real reason or reasoning for him being the traitor. Circumstantial "evidence" doesn't exactly make a completely sound accusation, after all. Traitors seem like that because they're advisors, not the other way around. Cause and effect, right?
What about Vagastrom? The only one I can't see as a possibility is Sho, I mean what kind of Traitor goes back on his friends scheme to help someone he barely knows get a lesser reprimand?
Alan is already suspicious, as much as I love his character. I mean he literally killed a guy, (who is somehow still very much alive,) and is, again, having nightly rendezvous with someone from an enemy dorm. AND HIS DORM RUNS A FIGHT CLUB, I mean c'mon dude. Besides that, however, (and his clear bloodlust,) his, yk, general disposition, seems to suggest otherwise. Not sure about him.
Leo, however? Oh he would absolutely be the traitor. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain he spread the Frostheim rumours, though it's been a few days since I read that episode. Plus the spying/eavesdropping, antagonizing Alan, hearing that Vice Captain would need to be nice to MC and immediately trying to rob her of all credibility, that scheme in general, antagonizing Subaru, and most of all, suggesting that Alan let Takeru kill the Honor Student just cuz.
Or I have a theory he might be Sho's demon, but that has very little support and is kinda a reach.
Problem is with Leo being the traitor; he's too obvious about it??? He's bitchy even to his friend, he seems to regularly tell MC to come to Vagastrom with no explanation for the express reason of eavesdropping on his Captain, he antagonizes people left and right, (Alan and Subaru,) and outright suggests complacency in murder? The intent purpose of a traitor is to be trustworthy. Leo might just be your run-of-the-mill jackass. Ashamed to share a birthday with him. (Also he's not a fucking Gemini, he's a Taurus, I would know I LOOKED AT THE CONSTELLATIONS-)
Ahem. Anyway, what about Jabberwock?
Ren is a first year who, honestly, doesn't seem to give enough of a damn about the school to be a traitor in any right. He's also clearly not cold enough to be a traitor, he all saw him with Calamari. That boy's just tired.
Towa... Not entirely sure what his deal is yet, but like. "What are you doing, Dandelion?" "Hm... I'll go ask Haru if it's okay." "Do you need help, Dandelion?" "Okay, I'll save you." "Dandelion. What should I do next?" "What do you need, Dandelion? Tell me." "I'm strong enough. Why won't you ask me to do it?"
He's like Floyd if Floyd didn't resort to violence, was actually a good person, and was far more mellow. He's like a lanky, flower eating puppy with Haru as his favorite person. He's literally a sheep. I mean, look at his eyes. Fluffy, calm sheep. Either I'm incredibly naive and easily fooled, or he's not the traitor type. Knowing me, could be either.
And Haru? Haru is too busy. Like all the time. Stressed, well-dressed, and under duress. (Well-dressed because Peekaboo is practically an accessory.) He is worrying far too much about Jabberwock to worry about schemes.
Then there's Sinostra. Ritsu, is again, far too openly self involved to be hiding much of anything, and Taiga's attitude makes it seem like this Traitor has been at the school for a bit by now. Ritsu is a first year.
Romeo? Firstly, he already has shady shit going on. The explosive powder? The secret room, the kidnappings, the debt collecting, his whole thing is debauchery. A traitor would at least be subtle with it.
I sincerely doubt Taiga would admit to being a traitor. I mean it's Taiga, so who knows, but you get what I'm saying.
Hotarubi would be next. I'm only halfway through the episode, so forgive me if I interpret things as suspicious that get explained later, but I feel like the only one I can openly say is free of suspicion is Zenji. He has enough going on, and Taiga would have to know he exists to be able to say he's a traitor.
Haku, I'm gonna be honest, is extremely suspicious. Sure, it might've just been explained why, the existence of Zenji I mean, but his general disposition is just off-putting to me. He's also the first person MC met in the story, (if you ignore Taiga having tried to throw us off a bus) so it makes sense Taiga would say "keep deceiving you".
It would also feel like a good parallel NGL; to have the story start with a hostile character and a kind, guiding character, only to end the main plot by having the "aggressive" one be the only one who had caught on to the traitorous nature of the "merciful" character the MC had trusted so.
Then there would be Subaru. I can't say much about him decisively since, well, I'm not done with the Hotarubi episode yet, but he seems almost unwaveringly secretive. He lied about why Lyca is locked up, (at least from what I gathered from that interaction,) he sympathizes with the anomalies, (not a crazy position on the issue, but suspicious nonetheless when surrounded with people who see no problem with ripping them to shreds,) and overall seems almost too trusting... And trustworthy, honestly. He also noticed Leo quite quickly and seemed very quick to come to the (reasonable and true) conclusion that Leo would start some shit, which is weirdly observant tbh.
Okay, so that was one long paragraph, but there is one more house I've met so far, in the week that I've been endlessly playing this game. Mortkranken!
As this would've been the house me and my friend would've been in if we hadn't both placed Hotarubi in the quiz, I may be a bit biased when I say I doubt the traitorous ghoul is in Mortkranken, but nonetheless.
First of all, Yuri's god complex, while likely a common trait with renegades and treasonists, (I googled synonyms bc that same word over and over felt too monotonous, r u proud of me) doesn't feel like enough evidence of ill intent, especially not within a doctor. His whole job is kinda helping people stay alive.
Jiro(?) doesn't seem too reasonable of a suspect either tbh. Sure, they said there's rumours he woke up in a lab one day or WTV, but he also seems to have his own shit going on with illness or smth, and honestly he seems more like the type to go with the flow until he finally gets out of school than the type to pay attention to "the clash" or interdorm/schoolwide drama. (Also I still feel bad for us having blown up his prototype but yk. Prolly better than snorting it, so I'd call that a win.)
Um. Anyway those are my opinions. This took like two hours to write and it's midnight RN so sorry if it gets incomprehensible towards the end (or in general) but I am tired. As usual, this is just the app I use to scream into the void about my opinions when Notes App isn't doing it for me.
Tldr; possible suspects are Thoma, Alan, (?) and either living Hotarubi ghouls. With that said tho it's definitely Haku.
I'm so tired.
