Kamado freezes at the surprised voice, turning his head slightly as a flash of blond catches his eye. Before he can raise his staff, however, Teru was already next to him, somehow having teleported himself over. He probably did, with his kokujodai. “Kou! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? You’re still carrying that staff, huh? Your Kannagi put up a pretty good fight before he was knocked out for a while, did you teach him that?”
“Wait a second—"
“Do you still cook? You always liked doing that, right? Oh, do we share the same seals? Isn’t that neat, Kou? It’s like we’re twins!”
“Teru-nii, just a—"
“You’re taller now, huh? You’d be my height if we were still alive, mom always said you and I were too alike to be two years apart in age, maybe she was right, maybe we’re twins in nothing but souls—woah!”
His brother doesn’t have time to finish his sentence when a flimsy arm like appendage made of sharp bone comes flying at them, sending them sailing across the boundary and slamming into a wall. Immediately, Kamado is upright, staff in hand and cloak flaring out behind him, lightning crackling in the air. “It’s coming back over here!”

To the Minamotos and Kou enjoyers, do you sometimes think about the fact that Kou and Teru took on the roles of “Mother figure” and “Father figure” respectively of the household?
Do you sometimes think if Teru were to die, the family would lose their oldest son, their protector and the “father figure” of the household, but they would still have their actual father, an absent one, but one that still exist?
Do you sometimes think about the fact, that if Kou were to die, they would lose ALL the “motherly figures” that they have left in their household?
Do you sometimes think about the fact that the only “motherly figure” Tiara knows is Kou?
When she is asked who is the one in her house that does all the “motherly stuff”?
The one that cooks.
The one that cleans.
That make sure everyone is doing well, eating well, well rested and takes care of them while they’re sick.
The one that makes sure everyone gets up in the morning and gets ready to go to school. She thinks of Kou.

both mitsuba and akane are supernaturals that hate themselves for it. kou and teru are exorcists who are trapped from being with those they love due to their jobs and families.
but i think mitsuba and kou have a more positive outlook on their relationship and future. they both believe - and are trying - to reach a future where they can be together.
meanwhile, teru and akane are far more realistic/pessimistic. teru has a much colder view on supernaturals than kou does, and i think that's definitely gonna be something he has to get over if he ever wants a chance with akane. akane sees himself as a monster, wanting - for most of the series - to just be a normal human. they don't see their relationship as something that's even possible, stopping them from persuing or even thinking about the other.
both pairs are barred from being together by forces they can't control. there's a lot of self-loathing in all four of them, i think. poor babies :((

Of course it wasn't you, and you know it can't be you but it still hurts like a bitch. You lay on your bed staring at the ceiling as you try to process what Minamoto Teru had said earlier when you asked him for help in rescuing Aoi and finding number 7.
"He likes Aoi-chan," though after his words he play it off as a joke but you know he meant it, you knew deep inside your guts that he meant it, from his body language to the way he looked when he said those words.
"It makes sense now, but Akane-kun wouldn't like it," turning to your side you hug a pillow and hid your face in it, drowning yourself in your thoughts that is slowly being filled with insecurities that you had pushed away before.
"If only I was smarter or maybe prettier, would he-"
You stop yourself before you could even finish, cause deep down you know he still wouldn't look at you or see you the way he does to Aoi- because you're not Aoi.

Terukane hair explorations for my detective auuu
Ive began editing the first chapter hopefully it will soon be done (who knows) Little headcanons: Terus hair gets curly and wavy under like any moisture or when he wakes up. He finds it really annoying to tame and usually just brushes it out once and goes on with his day. Akane has very spiky and thick hair and his mom usually had to find some way of dealing with it. As he's grown his hair has developed into a preemptive meditation. He enjoys styling it in the morning so he can decompress before his day. (aoi also said she liked guys with wavy hair)

do you plan to change anything about the miraculous/miracle guardian order? i thought the whole “haha you know have to use a miraculous” thing-a-majig for akane was interesting! perhaps the kwami are the seven mysteries with the clock keepers being guardians? now that the kwamis are said to have actual personalities outside of the whole akuma stuff, it’d be great to see it develop? what are your thoughts on it? 🌸
I have changed quite a bit but at the same time not too much. I want to prioritize scarcity to amplify Teru and Akane's miraculous' story weight.
The miraculouses in this AU are basically near shore anchors created by the gods to allow the presence of the far shore. These charms allow the yielder to harness a temporary supernatural form by the combination of the soul inside. The holder gains equal access to both planes of existence.
I enjoy the current jshk timeline and took inspiration when designing the miraculouses. Right now, the seven pillars (seven mysteries) are seven temples that bridge the near and far shore. Each possess a miraculous that anchor's their existence. These miraculous's however are of a much lessor degree than Teru's and Akane's. They offer little abilities but for the most part just allow regular humans the ability to see supernaturals.
Teru and Akane's miraculous's are created by Sakura and the demon inside Tsukasa who are the gods of creation and destruction. Sakura represents the bridges to the near shore, and tsukasa represent the far shore.
These miraculouses are a drop of Sakura and Tsukasa's power but are fundamental in reestablishing any near shore issues to balance the two planes.
In this story Sakura and Tsukasa aren't present much outside of the antagonist's main goal. (I wonder who that could be if Teru is in adrien's place....)
For more specific details on Nene and Amane: - miraculouses require souls to maintain power and the ability to fuse with the holder
-Nene was a kanagi long long ago who never was assigned a death date. She had to be forcibly taken out of existence by Sakura. She uses Nene's soul to create her miraculous.
-In this timeline the demon who possesses tsukasa kills amane. He use's Amane's soul to create his miraculous.
-These miraculouses are only given by the two gods when existence is truly at risk. They do not have a physical temple or act as anchors.
--- To answer your last thought I honestly have not kept up much with the miraculous lore after season four haha. I think it does make sense to have plagg and tiki to have a bigger presence than just a clutch to the butterfly miraculous. I always love it when you interact! Thank you for the note <3
