The Joker (MK1)

This is the full version of my Joker design I made MK1 a few months ago. It was inspired by Regime Joker (Injustice: Gods Among Us), Heath Ledger (Dark Knight), Jack Napier (Batman TAS), and Pennywise (IT 2017). How does it look?

What If............................... The Joker Reformed?
What If............................... The Joker Reformed?

What If............................... The Joker Reformed?

This is an Elseworld's idea I recently had after rereading "The Killing Joke". I'd always wondered what would've happened if The Joker did take up Batman's offer at the end of the story, and I eventually came up with a story in which Joker does agree to let Batman rehabilitate him. At first, Joker just spent the first few months in Arkham Asylum actually complying with the doctors and guards. But he eventually does escape, terrified of change and just wanting to do his old dance with Batman. Realizing he needs to keep a closer eye on him in order to make sure this does work, Batman secretly has Joker moved into Wayne Manor, confining him to a single room and forcing him to stick to a specific schedule. If he even deviates once from taking his medication, he's going right back to Arkham. Alfred hates this idea, but sticks by Bruce's side out of loyalty. When Barbara and Dick eventually hear about this, they initially think that Bruce has lost his mind and that Joker must be playing him. But Bruce does manage to at least talk them into leaving him alone. After a year goes by with no intrusions or deviations, Joker is allowed access to certain parts of the manor, such as the dining hall and living room. Alfred is always there to make sure nothing happens, watching Joker like a hawk and flinching at the most minor actions. Alfred utterly despises Joker, as aside from Joe Chill, he is the primary cause of Batman's suffering. He killed Jason Todd, crippled Barbara Gordon, and has dogged Batman to the ends of the earth in order to forever play his maniacal game of cat & mouse with him. However, Joker is 100% serious about reforming and just wants to be allowed to show that he can change. One night while Batman was out chasing after The Riddler, Riddler ended up getting the jump on Batman and knocked him unconscious, trapping him inside of a 100 acre mirror maze littered with dozens of laser beams that fire randomly every 20 seconds. What Alfred and the others were unaware of was that Joker knows Batman is Bruce Wayne, he just never cared. When Bruce radioed for Alfred to send in Nightwing, Joker overheard and snuck into the Batcave ahead of everyone. He then stole the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh costume, hotwired the Bat-cycle, and sped away. While Batman was running through the maze and dodging lasers, he ended up getting burned on his left arm and was trapped at a dead end. Before the lasers could finish him off, Joker came crashing through one of the mirrors and destroyed the laser beam with an explosive Batarang. He then tended to Batman's wound before grappling them up to Riddler's control room. The two then defeated the Riddler and duct-taped him to the signal for Commissioner Gordon. Impressed with Joker's heroic action, Batman eventually started to teach him how to be a vigilante. It turns out that Joker was more adept at this thing than he was even aware of. It'll still take a while for him to earn the trust of the rest of the Bat-family, but he's happy as Batman's new sidekick. Batman & The Joker: The New Dynamic Duo.

Impostor Joker

Impostor Joker

Before he had his unfortunate encounter with The Joker, Winslow Heath was simple businessman who worked for pharmaceuticals company. He had a girlfriend named Beth who he was planning to propose to. One night while having a romantic picnic on a rooftop, The Joker showed up, riding a jet pack. He was being chased by Batman, who quickly caught up and tackled him to the ground. In order to distract Batman, he tossed a Joker Gas grenade at Winslow, who quickly started to succumb to the gas. Fortunately, it turns out that Winslow and Beth were stoners/drug users, and the drugs in their systems were able to stop the gas from killing them. Unfortunately, the gas put Winslow in a state of paralysis, and he was put in Gotham Hospital. He wasn't in a coma, though. He was fully aware of his surroundings, he could hear everything happening, but he could move or speak. 2 years later, they decided to run a brain scan on Winslow, and that's when they found out that he was conscious. Using advancements in medical science, they were able to restore him to full function. Admitting their negligence, the hospital gave Winslow a huge cash settlement. Using this money, he was able to set up his own pharmaceutical company, and soon became rich enough to rival Bruce Wayne and Simon Stagg. However, Winslow had a lot of time to think while stuck in his glass coffin, and he grew to greatly resent Batman, blaming him for bringing all of this misery to Gotham City. Seeking revenge against the Dark Knight, Winslow was able to get his hands on the recipe for Joker Toxin, and used hired a mad chemist named Dr. Kaligari to convert it into a non-lethal drug that they called "Joker Juice". It comes in a gaseous form contained in small, pill-shaped capsules. Crack it open, sniff it, and your hair turns green, your skin turns white, and you go crazy for about an hour. He then handed it out different citizens and orchestrated mad mob riots in different parts of Gotham. After a cop killed one of the Jokerz, more people started to buy the Joker Juice, and engaged in a coordinated attack on the GCPD. After several cops were killed in the riot, an impostor Batman rose up and told all of Gotham's citizens to defend their city by dressing up as Batman and killing any other the Jokerz they could find. Before long, the entire city engaged in a month-long war between the Jokerz and the Guardian Batz. In order to pull off his master plan, Winslow built an amusement park for citizens to have fun in to distract themselves from the carnage. However, this was a trap. He and Dr. Kaligari had developed a version of Joker Juice that made you destructive and violent, and had rigged to park's lampposts to spray the gas onto the crowds. Before long, the entire park turned into death arena with both Batz and Jokerz trying to kill each other all over the place. The Impostor Batman had led an army of Guardian Bats to lay siege to the park, and he strolled through the park, brutally slaughtering Jokerz left, right, and center. Batman chased the Impostor Batman into the Hall Of Mirrors, and was able to unmask him after a fight. It turns out that Winslow Heath was both the Impostor Joker, and the Impostor Batman. He'd orchestrated all of this to show Batman how his battles with the Joker constantly destroy Gotham, and the lives of everyone around them. Winslow then revealed the other reason he was doing this. After he was poisoned by the gas, Beth disappeared. It turns out that she'd taken the same drugs that night, and they also stopped the gas from killing, but also put her in the same "Glass Coffin" state. Batman didn't see her, and she was left there paralyzed for god knows how long. I wonder what it felt like when the crows ate her to death. Batman then tried to arrest Winslow, but he lost him in the crowd of Jokerz and Guardian Batz. No one has seen him since, but who knows where he is, or what he's planning.

Neo Joker

Neo Joker

Before she met the Clown Prince of Crime, Marian Drews was a depressed, self harming bank teller who had nothing to live for. She'd often cut her wrists in full view of everyone else, just to see if anyone cared enough to stop her. Then one day, she met the love of her life. The Joker robbed the Bank that she worked at, and pointed a gun at her head. Suddenly, she wanted to live. Instead of killing her, The Joker handed her a sack and told her to load it with money from the vault. Halfway through this, he started to call her Harley. Already terrified, Marian just went along with it, afraid that if she didn't that he would kill her. As soon as they left the bank and escaped the cops, The Joker handed her Harley's old costume and told her to put it on. It turns out that the original Harleen Quinzel had left Joker's crew a few months ago, and Marian had a striking resemblance to the former psychiatrist. As soon as they got back to his Ha-Hacienda, The Joker bandaged her wrist wounds, and then buried his head in her lap and began to cry. It was then that Marian realized that The Joker wasn't a monstrous demon, just a deeply damaged man who wanted someone to love him. Just like that, she became his new Harley Quinn. Sometime during their partnership, she modified the costume and made it look more like a Roller Skater than a Classic Jester. One night after The Joker broke out of Arkham Asylum for the umpteenth time, Batman chased him to a medical warehouse and force fed him a bottle of unknown pills. These pills had a rather unexpected effect on The Joker, restoring him to his former sane self. Returning to his identity of Jack Napier, he tried to propose to who he thought was Harleen Quinzel, but Marian rebuffed his advances. She loved The Joker, not Jack Napier. Before she could force makeup on Jack's face, she was kicked in the face by Harleen Quinzel, who had come to save her "Puddin". While Jack and Harleen were trying to make Jack the new councilman of Gotham City, they used very corrupt means in order to prove that Batman is the worst thing for the city. They used a combination of Clayface and Mad Hatter's mind-control tech to mind control all of the super villains of Gotham to go on a rampage and destroy a library that Jack had recently built in Backport, and all to prove that Batman can't solve every problem. Meanwhile, Marian decided to become the new Joker while Jack was gone from the role. She then found a warehouse where Jack was stashing all of the villains and the mind control tech. Cutting a deal with the Mad Hatter, she and Jervis mind-controlled the villains in order to go against Jack's orders and destroy the city. After attacking Wayne Manor, they managed to steal the blueprints for a giant freeze ray constructed by Thomas Wayne and Baron Von Fries, Mr. Freeze's father. They then found the ray and used it to freeze all of Gotham City, and gave the GCPD an ultimatum: either Jack turns back into The Joker, or she lets everyone in the city die. After a strained alliance between Batman and Jack Napier, Jack turned back into The Joker and battled Neo Joker within the caves where the ray was stationed. When the walls collapsed, Jack tried to sacrifice himself by driving the Batmobile into a narrow causeway and ejecting Harleen Quinzel onto one of the motorcycles, telling her to go and get Neo Joker. Fortunately, Jack survived and Marian was captured after she and Harleen had a fight. She was then taken to Arkham Asylum and became one of it's newest inmates. However, she got what she wanted, as Jack’s pills wore off and he become The Joker once again.

The Joker King

The Joker King

As far back as he can remember, Douglas Tan was obsessed with The Joker. He decorated his room in every piece of Joker merchandise he could get his hands on, and tried to research as much about the Clown Prince of Crime that he could. Unfortunately, his parents saw his fascination as an “Unhealthy Obsession”, and they tried their best to distance their son from anything Joker related. They got rid of his merchandise, deleted all of his hard drives containing information, and even sent him to multiple therapists. Doug was a lot like his father though, as when he sent his mind on something, he’d never let it go. He later joined a Jokerz gang, as he saw it as a prime opportunity to spread chaos in The Joker’s name. However, all the Jokerz did was petty vandalism, loitering, and they sometimes even fought other Jokerz. After being sent to prison for the umpteenth time, Doug had an epiphany, and thought he finally knew what The Joker’s message truly was. No matter what you do, nothing matters. Everything ends eventually, no matter how far your legacy reaches past your death. Wanting to spread this wisdom with his fellow Jokerz, he began proselytizing to these people, and became their messiah in a way. After finally getting out of prison, Doug and his friend Pally Otchee went around recruiting Jokerz from other cities, planning on having all of them converge on Gotham. Once he had them all meet up in the Gotham Cemetery, he secretly sprayed them all with hypnotic drugs using hidden misters in the trees. He then convinced all of them to wear bomb vests and to suicide bomb themselves all over Gotham in order to destroy it in the name of The Joker. During the ensuing chaos, Doug headed to the hospital to kill the family that abandoned him, since his father was in a coma after Doug elbowed him in the face. He was stopped by Batman Beyond, but Doug managed to incapacitate him by constantly knocking him on the head in order to keep him delirious. His then took Batman to a construction site, and planned to hang him from the top. Batman managed to escape from the noose, and he along with a couple other heroes tried to stop Doug, who had completely lost it, and had gone full Joker crazy. His sister then ran on the scene, and Doug took her hostage. An explosion caused Doug to loose his footing, and he wound up toppling over the side of the building. His foot got tangled in a rope he was standing on, and his head ended up getting banged on the side of the building, killing him instantly. At least he died with a smile on his face, like a true Joker.

The New Joker

The New Joker

As a child, Marquis Jet's school bus was held hostage by The Joker, and he wound up taking a joy-buzzer to the head. Due to this severe head trauma, Marquis would end up developing violent and sociopathic tendencies. Sometime later, his sister would become the new Batwoman, and he would use his new skills to advance in the business world, and was soon the executive vice president of his mother's company. When his family was kidnapped by an escaped Professor Pyg, he escaped his bonds and saved his mother by stabbing Pyg to death. This singular event finally pushed Marquis over the edge, as later that night when his mother returned home, she found him with a bloody smile smeared across his face.  His mother then sent him to cryo-therapy, but he would end up escaping his cell, killed multiple people, and violently took over Wayne Enterprises as it's new CEO. Tired of the doom and gloom of Gotham, Marquis gives a speech, proclaiming that all he wants is to put an smile on everyone's faces.
