Torment Nexus - Blog Posts

supposedly the opt-out prevents data from being shared even from reblogs but i do not trust a word of it. ive seen enough corporate loophole-speak in my day to take my chances with something as permanent as machines learning how to imitate my shit.

tumblr has broken my trust repeatedly with shit like this tbh. ill figure out something else to talk about, i guess.

im gonna be using #torment nexus for anything related to stupid stuff that makes my blood boil. hopefully shouldnt be too much and might even be fun times of silly (existentially horrifying) tech developments going wrong

art posts deleted. art sideblog deleted. this is now a funnypost personal account. the torment nexus will not win today.

Goodbye Art Tumblrs

i am deleting all of my art here forever. you dont get any more until never, probably. Patreon if you want it. Might start posting stuff there. not even tier-locked probably. until they start doing AI shit too. Hell world torment nexus nightmare realm. we are in the darkest timeline.

my countermeasures probably won't affect reblogs, so i ask of you. if you have reblogged my art: delete it and reblog this instead. I am dead serious i will be extremely upset if my shit gets scraped enough to make even a semi-accurate model of my art.

...save for those with which we partner.

cool. real cool. fuck this. tomorrow i am going to nightshade all of my art (and Glaze it too) and replace every single image on my blog with those versions of it. i might not even opt out just to poison the AI well more (should be opt-in anyway, pricks).

fuck you all. in fact, i might just delete my art sideblog. i'm not gonna post any new art at all actually. I'll pivot to other sites for that. thanks for making this place even more of an uphill battle to have fun and share things on.

Hi, Tumblr. It’s Tumblr. We’re working on some things that we want to share with you.

AI companies are acquiring content across the internet for a variety of purposes in all sorts of ways. There are currently very few regulations giving individuals control over how their content is used by AI platforms. Proposed regulations around the world, like the European Union’s AI Act, would give individuals more control over whether and how their content is utilized by this emerging technology. We support this right regardless of geographic location, so we’re releasing a toggle to opt out of sharing content from your public blogs with third parties, including AI platforms that use this content for model training. We’re also working with partners to ensure you have as much control as possible regarding what content is used.

Here are the important details:

We already discourage AI crawlers from gathering content from Tumblr and will continue to do so, save for those with which we partner.

We want to represent all of you on Tumblr and ensure that protections are in place for how your content is used. We are committed to making sure our partners respect those decisions.

To opt out of sharing your public blogs’ content with third parties, visit each of your public blogs’ blog settings via the web interface and toggle on the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.

For instructions on how to opt out using the latest version of the app, please visit this Help Center doc.

Please note: If you’ve already chosen to discourage search crawling of your blog in your settings, we’ve automatically enabled the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.

If you have concerns, please read through the Help Center doc linked above and contact us via Support if you still have questions.
