Now I'm down bad crying at the gym.
Florida!!! Is my favorite song ever I think?!? (I’m saying this after listening to each song but this time I might be fr)
secret gardens in my mind
“I Hate It Here” collage part 2
lunar valleys in my mind
“I Hate It Here” collage part 1
does it feel alright to not know me?
@taylorswift @taylornation OMG TAYLOR SWIFT MOTHER THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS MASTERPIECE! THE LYRICS 😭🙏🫶👏
So is she referencing reputation vault tracks with the line in Guilty As Sin?
“I keep these longing locked in lowercase inside a vault”
Or maybe Folklore/evermore vault tracks? (Because even though those won’t have TVs, there are probably still songs that were written for but not added to those albums
Just a thought
No specific order, these are my favorites
Guilty As Sin?- the end of the bridge where it’s just this beautiful chorus of Taylors singing in harmony, kinda like in Don’t Blame Me but like this beautiful dreamy version of it, and the long drum fill before perfectly jumping back into the original rhythm? Literally makes the whole song
So High School- this is a rock song, this is something that if I heard sung by a young Paul McCartney, I’d believe was a Beatles song. Incredibly clever lyrics and such a fun, happy song
But Daddy I Love Him- The parellels to Love Story are so incredible, and with one of the catchiest choruses she’s ever written! Also love the lyricism in this one sooo much, the epitome of girlish and yet badass at the same time
Peter- the first one I attempted to play on piano and sing just to feel that chorus in my chest, I’ve never experienced the relationship between Taylor and this muse but I can still feel the yearning in that chorus’ melody
Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me?- this was actually the first one that made me cry (I was stoned of my rockers for the first listen, it was celebratory) I couldn’t believe how transparent and real she was being, and it was so sad to think that she feels like a monster because that’s how people have made her feel. It’s such a great song
I Can Do It With A Broken Heart- once again the transparency, I’ve never experienced another modern artist who was so deeply telling about their personal and intimate experiences. It is the most fun song on the album and the lyrics are so hilariously delivered. It’s like Bejewled (Taylor’s Version)
The Black Dog- I love the premise of the song, what a great thing to write about! Incredible lyrics, I love how she can just make normal conversation fee so natural in a melody. She just took a single thought she had, “how do you not miss me in the black dog?” And then sang it to the first chord she played, and made it a chorus, and THEN tells a whole imaginary story of what she sees when she puts herself in the scenario as a bystander. “When someone plays the starting line, and you jump up, but she’s too young to know this song” it’s just a whole train of thought set to a melody, and the end of the chorus is equally significant, closing the thought out so we’ll “old habits die screaming” there is so much volume in that statement. Easily a masterpiece
Those are my favorites and a few words about them sorry there are 2 extras!
happy 1 week of TTPD!!🤍 if you see this reblog with your top 5 songs!

so long, london
guilty as sin?
florida!!!
who’s afraid of little old me?
Knowing that she was depressed as FUCK when I saw her in Houston makes me very happy that I’ll see her again in New Orleans now that she’s much happier
So High School is…a rock song….it’s a rock song.
She dipped that quill in a glitter ink bottle for this one
I also think the songs are in an order of each “era” of her life with him. Not necessarily lyrically, but as far as style, it sounds like each album in order from Rep and on
The Tortured Poets Department: TTPD, like a prologue?
My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys: reputation vibes with hints at “This is why we can’t have nice things” ? It’s like the grownup version of it?
Down Bad: Lover vibes, even in the vocals? Reminded me of Cornelia street a little, I don’t know why exactly (I’ve only listened through once and I’m not finished at all)
So Long, London: FOLKLORE VIBES with the harmonies!! It reminded me of a mixture of closure and epiphany!
… But Daddy I Love Him: I was thinking, if the pattern continues it’ll have evermore vibes with some little guitars AND THE GUITARS STARTED so yes evermore for this one
So will Fresh Out The Slammer have Midnights vibes? Has she been dressing for revenge lately?
Love Story is how she imagined not getting to marry the love of her life would feel like, while But Daddy I Love him is how the scenario actually played out all these years later
