edward was always the quietest member of their family
his gift meant that he never needed to ask a question of anybody in their household, which cut out a considerable amount of conversation
when he did speak, it was always soft and quiet, as though he were afraid of being overheard
he only became quieter and more internal as their family grew
he was always happy to join in with the others and seemed fairly happy, but he never felt the need to be as loud as the rest of them
even jasper, shyer than the other three, spoke more often than edward
until the day he first spoke to bella swan
that day, he had raced home and run straight into the living room where his adopted mother was reading a book
he couldn’t help but let his joy burst forth and he talked non-stop for at least ten minutes about the swan girl, relaying every aspect of their conversations
esme beamed the entire time, glad not only that he had found somebody that he liked so much, but that he was bold enough to share it with her
when he had calmed down, he tried to retract a little
“sorry… i didn’t mean to load all of that onto you.” he mumbled
“edward, darling! you can read my mind so i know that you know that’s not how i feel about it at all. i’m thrilled for you!”
he smiled sheepishly and ducked out of the room, but esme swore that he heard him singing under his breath
from that day on, there was a change in edward
esme didn’t know if it was because he couldn’t read bella’s mind and became more used to speaking aloud but he was almost as talkative as his siblings
no scene in any Twilight film will ever be as hot as Dr. Carlisle Cullen’s first appearance and that is literally just a fact
I've finished re-reading Twilight, and omg, I forgot Tyler went to Bella's house on prom night, to pick her up, thinking she was gonna be his date! The level of delusion!
Also, I can't wait to read this on Midnight Sun so we can hear Charlie on the phone with Edward "Hey Edwin, there's a guy named Tyler here, says he's Bella's date... You kids need to sort this out on your own, I have a game to watch!"

i know we all like to clown on our emo king Edward Cullen here but listen when he took his first and only love to this stupid highschool dance and she’s all like 🥺 “i’m too clumsy to dance” and he just lifted her up on his own feet and danced with her so she wouldn’t get hurt and it’s just so fucking soft he never had the chance to put all his 19th century moves on anyone and now he has this beautifully awkward girl he loves more than anything and he just wants to dance with her and no you know what nothing is a better love story than twilight

people in this town…dr cullen is a brilliant surgeon who could probably work in any hospital in the world, make ten times the salary he gets here we’re lucky to have him lucky that his wife wanted to live in a small town he’s an asset to the community and all of those kids are well behaved and polite i had my doubts when they first moved in with those adopted teenagers and all i thought we might have some problems with them but they’re all very mature i haven’t had one speck of trouble from any of them that’s more than i can say for the children of some folks who have lived in this town for generations and they stick together the way a family should camping trips every other weekend just because they’re newcomers people have to TALK
