I sent that ask about Malleus's treatment being unfair and now that it's over I'm going to make my point more clear, since it seems it wasn't last time.
Malleus's crimes:
-Putting people to sleep on a wide scale
-Less injuries that a *sports* tournament (according to Epel)
The other overblots' crimes:
-Attempted murder, including targeted murder and wiping out *all life* (aka murder on a wide scale)
Malleus's consequences:
-Accidentally killed his own father
-Physically maimed
-Magically disabled
-Losing the entire foundation of who he is and having to rebuild his identity from scratch
-The trauma of his actions
The other overblots' consequences:
-Riddle was socially shunned for a while (and even this is shown mostly in other media, not the game)
-The trauma of their actions
Meanwhile the other overblots say that Malleus deserves further punishment (to which Crowley thankfully points out they have no right to speak) as does a fair chunk of the fanbase. How does this make any sense? Might I also add that the only ones who ever apologized for their actions are Riddle, Vil, and *Malleus.* So why is it that Malleus is seen as being so much worse than the others? Why is Malleus called a monster, a living disaster, and the enemy of mankind (all things said in canon) and nobody else has anything similar said about them? I'm not arguing that there shouldn't be consequences, I'm arguing that the scale of it does not align with twst's previous messaging and themes. Whether or not Malleus's consequences are fair in general is one thing, but in comparison with our previous standards it's wildly unfair. And yet people are still calling for more, and fans are being rude to Diasomnia fans about it. It simply doesn't add up.
As for Silver, nowhere did I say Silver should pay for his father's crimes. I said that his *father* never earned the right for his image to be restored because he stood idly by against what he thought was wrong. Silver shouldn't have to be used to restore his *father's* image, when that image doesn't align with who Silver is.
Dear Anon,
I was writing a well thought out and sincere response essay to your initial take, but since you're back and doubling down I'm just going to tell you why you're wrong.
WARNING: The following response is pretty rude. Malleus gets everything he had coming to him and here's why. . .
"Thank you for your take."
And yes, saying that Silver should not have his heroic moment as a knight in shining armor because that armor was worn when committing war crimes IS devaluing Silver based on his father's sins. Being a knight in shining armor is completely in character for Silver (AS A FREAKING DISNEY PRINCESS), and the fact that he is doing a good thing is meant to CONTRAST with his father who did bad things, NOT absolve said father of wrongdoing. The same tool that was once used for evil is now being used for good. IT'S POETIC!
Yuu, meeting Georgina: Hello, Ma'am, how are you doing today?
Georgina, blinks: I'm fine, thank you for asking. *looks at Jade* I thought you said she spoke abrasively.
Jade: She does.
Yuu: My mom told me to be respectful when greeting new people. As I see a queen is speaking and gracing us with her presence, how can I not?
Georgina, starts laughing: I see what Floyd was taking about now.
Jade, leans towards Yuu: Are you trying to flirt with my mother, Miss Yuu?
Yuu, smiles: I'm not trying, I'm succeeding.
Jade, smiles ominously: Cease.
Yuu, matches Jade's smile: Make me.

riddle doesn't let it stop him. a simple biological process shouldn't deter him from getting things done, especially one he has to deal with on the regular. you knock on his door asking to come in, and he almost sends you away until you tell him you have some hot tea for him. you enter the room to find him at his desk, slightly hunched over with one arm wrapped around his middle as he works on an essay. he's clearly in pain, but as long as he's not dying, he sees no reason to break from his studies. you try urging him to take a nap or just lay down for a while, but maybe it's best you leave before he impulsively beheads you.
ruggie plays up the whole thing. he can handle it just fine, but since you're so worried about him, why not take advantage of it? he's just so exhausted and in so much pain, you wouldn't make him work while he's in such a state, would you? he pawns all his chores onto you, and every time you look at him, he groans very loudly and dramatically to remind you how much he's suffering. he's not really trying to make it believable, because he knows you'll do what he asks anyway.
azul finds it very unfair. he never had to deal with this in the coral sea!! if he could, he'd spend the whole week in bed, but he unfortunately has a business to run, and no matter how many times you tell him that it can do just fine without him, he's not budging. he's well-stocked on anything he might need, but if you want to bring him chocolates then maybe, just maybe, he'll indulge his cravings this one time.
floyd, as a moray eel, can change his gender at will; but he doesn't really feel like it, so he'll just suffer. he doesn't make it a big deal, but he hates how his mood swings are so much worse than usual. he becomes way clingier too, which is saying a lot. if you want to visit him, you should make sure you don't have plans for the rest of the day, because he's not letting you go, unless you promise to come back with food.
jade, like his brother, could easily get out of it. in his case, though, he just wants the attention. why go through all the trouble when the chance to have you fretting over him is right there? oh dear, he's so frail and weak, if only there was someone to cuddle and pamper him, he moans as he rests his hand on his forehead. truthfully he doesn't even feel a thing, but you don't have to know that. what matters is that all your attention is on him.
kalim insists he's fine—he's been through way worse than a little period, don't worry! he says as he's writhing on the ground in agony. he requires cuddles but is a pain to sleep beside, because he can't figure out a position that isn't incredibly uncomfortable and he's constantly moving around. cries way easier, so make sure you have tissues on hand. even so, he still likes to curl up in bed watching sad movies, and you're going to keep him company whether you want to or not.
jamil also says he's fine, but unlike kalim, he actually is. mostly. sort of. his solution is to just ignore all the side effects until it's over, no matter how bad they get, because he still has plenty of work to do and time waits for no one. he's been through worse, don't worry, he can handle this easily. he'll brush you off if you tell him to relax, although maybe if you want to take over a couple of his chores, he won't complain...
silver tries to sleep through it. normally this isn't a problem, but his body decided bleeding wasn't enough and cursed him with the inability to sleep as well. he curls up in bed, groaning and trying desperately to keep his eyes shut. he tells you not to come see him, not wanting you to see him in such a state, but of course you don't listen. he thanks you for worrying about him, but really, you don't have to stay if you don't want to...although if you try to leave, he looks very dejected.

hello!! sorry to chime in suddenly, but i saw a lot of cool nickname analysis and wanted to add my own two cents! it's fascinating to me that floyd doesn't actually use "apex predators" as nicknames for any of the characters so far (other than sebek, but like if you DON'T look at sebek and think 'croccodile' then you're doing it wrong). (1/?)
[Referring to this original post!]
As far as I know, no official reason for this has been stated in the game or shared by other characters. If I had to make an educated guess on why Floyd generally doesn’t give apex predator nicknames, I would say it’s because of his own selfish need to surpass others in strength.
In his Beans Day Camo personal stories, Floyd reveals to Epel that he wants to take on strong opponents (like Riddle), because he finds it to be exciting. In the Lyreless Brawl event itself, we see that Floyd refuses to follow Vil until Vil demonstrates his own strength and executes a flipping technique that catches Floyd’s attention. From these points, we can see that Floyd very much has an interest in overtaking powerful foes and learning new things to improve his own combat capabilities.
If Floyd were to nickname others after apex predators, I feel like that would come across to him as “I’m confessing that this person surpasses me in strength” every time he speaks their nickname, which hurts Floyd’s own pride. As we can see in his Beans Day Camo personal stories and in the Lyreless Brawl story, he’s willing and able to learn new things if it means enhancing his own abilities--but in calling others apex predators, it implies that they are naturally “above” him (because it is “in their nature” as the top of the oceanic food chain) and that, no matter how hard he tries to catch up, he won’t be able to. In this sense, granting an apex predator nickname to someone else would be relinquishing one’s own strength and confessing to their inferiority.
I think Floyd likes to leave the possibility of surpassing others “open” by not giving names that acknowledge another’s power. That way, there’s always a glimmer of hope that he can train and overtake them. It’s a matter of pride.
TWST Ramble: Kalim
This isn't much of an analysis bit it is more me rambling about a few things I've noticed from Kalim(our sunshine boy) overtime I don't see much fan content on.
He's surprisingly inventive: What I mean is judging from a few personal stories, especially his laboratory one it shows how despite being unable to cook usually, Kalim was almost masterfully able to prepare and cook every bit of food with magic alone. Yes Ruggie directed him when he needed to, but the point still shows that Kalim is more capable than we think. Another is during his dorm uniform's personal story. When his two dorm mates accidentally let out a flock of seven coloured birds, instead of defaulting to Jamil he knew silver always had birds and animals around him so he took the white birds and used them for the parade, using his own Unique magic to coat them in the colors with the light reflecting through the water
He seems like he's been stunted: What I mean by this is that Kalim looks like he's been stunted in his growth his whole life. With being given everything by his parents, and even with jamil holding back from actually trying his best in a way stunted kalim's growth both as a magician and a person. Which brings me to-
He's a very fast learner: Despite his naivety, and his upbringing, when he is forced to try and learn on his own to solve a problem without jamil, Kalim absorbs the information ridiculously well and adapts to it quickly. There's two showings of this, the first was with poison, seeing jamil being poisoned Kalim drilled himself to be able to spot and recognize most poisons. And on to the second example, during the Halloween event last year, after only one lesson from rook, Kalim was able to act like a wild wolf so convincingly he managed to scar jack to the point where even after realizing it was Kalim his tail was still between his legs out of fear. And then he acted so well he drew a genuine complement from Jamil, even shocking him at how well he managed to do.
He's not that airheaded: While we all know Kalim is airheaded, and doesn't observe things that well. I think we as a fandom often forget how observant Kalim actually is. The biggest example to date is how Kalim always knew Jamil wasn't a good person and expected jamil to betray him much sooner. And tell me if I'm wrong about this, but i think Kalim might have even noticed when Jamil acted worse than he actually was when he was with him.
So yeah, all in all I think we as a fandom sometimes forget Kalim is actually more than being a ball of airheaded sunshine, he has layers to him than we usually think of.
People hate Kalim for attention. I stand on that

So i’m making my own TWT ocs, and i was wondering on how you came up with the unique magic for your characters?? It’s the only thing i’m having trouble with :p
basically i find a gimmick the character they're based off of has,
example being Pan having the ability to shapeshift like how Panic was able to shapeshift in the Hercules movie or Peyn's being a draining spell cuz Pain was the one to drain Hercules of his immortality
or other times i look to see if the characters have a song or a song associated with them like yzma's cut song "snuff out the light" or Kronk having "lets groove" as his song
the ones that dont have anything to them like leo and the manta twins, i just pick something that relates to their personalities or their names
for incantations and spell names i just take lines or songs from the movies they're based from like Zero or Hero (Zero to Hero), Snuff Out The Light (same title as yzma's song), Let's Groove (same thing), Every Last Drop (what Pain says when he gives the potion to Hercules) etc
i’m on an insane grind rn
What. Was he not like. Heartbroken? Sobbing denying it like ehat.

Welcome back to “Leona being bitter on the web”
You cannot get me to stop making fun of that Cater sprite it’s so funny YOU CAN SEE THE RED IN HIS SCALP. Also I didn’t expect Riddle as a DJ and the mental image of Riddle turning up to a rave playing Mozart is funny to me. Also I’m a firm believer Idia can jojo pose and nooooo this is definitely not a new hyperfixation no wayyyy (I say as I physically can’t stop thinking about it and making references to it)
Also the ninth one is a reference to the event that came to Eng today

The more you try to make me feel bad for Jamil the worse I will treat him. If you demonize Kalim for him? Forget it buddy I’m going to start a campaign against Jamil and start spreading misinformation
I hope Jamil’s life gets worse and I hope thousands of bad things happen to him I hope Kalim shoots him with a thousand arrows and he bleeds out I don’t care I don’t care I AHHHHH
I'm not going to hold your hands when I say this. No, you don't deserve it, I'm going to pull your ears and SHOUT OUT LOUD: I'm TIRED of this fandom being UNABLE to interpret a text.
Kalim doesn't need to become a macho man who protects Jamil from everything, and he's not a "uwu boy" either. No, Kalim is a child who was emotionally neglected by his family, and INFANTILISED by them AND BY JAMIL. Do you know why Kalim is so incompetent? Because even Jamil doesn't let him TRY to act like a person, in the Lab Card he even says that HE CANNOT USE KNIVES TO COOK.
And God, why are we ignoring how much Jamil abused this ignorance? Jamil's outburst was fair, but it EFFECTIVELY makes Kalim act more childish and useless and also cuts away a lot of his own freedom.
Kalim has shown COUNTLESS TIMES, during the events and in the main story, that he is not helpless, stupid or incapable of learning. But it seems that when you see Jamil's point of view, which is not 100% reliable because duh, you completely ignore that Kalim accepted being used by Jamil because he thought it was okay if it was Jamil. You forget how much Kalim was tortured in his childhood, and even though he went through a lot, he is still treated as stupid and imbecile. Kalim is very capable, he improved his magic in a matter of months, he can easily make contacts and has the sense not to reveal who he really is to strangers. Besides, his kindness got many characters out of trouble.
JAMIL'S FANDOM MAKES ME WANT HIM TO DIED HARD AT THIS POINT.
It took Tapis Rouge to remind me that I actually really like Jamil's personality and his interactions.
