First of all, rip to William Finn, that legend is missed
But I wanted to introduce y'all to my
Falsettos binder
An entirely hand written book of all the (dialogue? Lyrics?) of the entire musical.
Based on the revival 'cause that one's my favorite.
We got: in depth analysis of every bit of significance in nearly every line. Dumb thoughts of mine. And memes.
[I'm not exaggerating when I said I went through eight packs of sticky notes]
The point
A probably incorrect timeline based on a few dates and hella real world assumptions
Pencil/colored pencil drawings featuring every character's musical assigned colors and me-assigned chess pieces
Depressing watercolor paintings
A cobbled together study on the chess pieces used in "the chess game" cause they look so strange and are never used again
An extensive study on the cube which I used to build the whole thing functionally in the real world
What I call ✨ notes on a scene✨
Which is commentary and observations of every bootleg production I've seen.
There's also an In Trouser analysis in here somewhere, but alas, I have reached the image limit.
Perhaps you can tell I'm just slightly feral for this musical and had a bit too much free time a couple months back.

William Finn died today and I never got a chance to meet him and tell him how much his work has changed my life and I think that’s a wound that’s gonna hurt for the rest of my life.
For the People who were wondering what song the hat was in
I may not write something as profound or emotional as others on here but to me, William Finn was an amazing writer who changed my life and whose work has gotten me through tough times. He will be greatly missed and I hope we all carry on his legacy with dignity and pride. For, he is a man who faced adversity and still stood as himself. He is the kind of representation we need. Someone who just told it how it is in the best way he could.
Rest in peace. You were an amazing author and I will feel your influence for years to come.
bill finn's work has truly changed my life. he is by far one of the greatest composers of our time. his ability to so honestly write about the human experience is incredible. he has created so many heartbreakingingly beautiful pieces about love, loss, family, and identity. falsettos has been my favorite musical for years, i truly cherish it and hold it so close to my heart. what bill has done for the queer and theatre community is nothing short of groundbreaking. hearing of his passing has been absolutely devastating. wishing peace to his friends and family. may his memory be a blessing♡
