a little universe I’ve been playing in where mice are the human analogue and dinosaurs and other anachronistic extinct creatures are their regular fauna
"The magic system is never fully explained" yeah that's how life works. Imagine having a story set in modern day America and the characters have several pages of exposition on combustion engines and telecommunication networks before we get to the plot
One of the funny things about LotR is that almost every people in it professes to disbelieve in the supernatural, but because they live in a fantasy world their baseline for "natural" is so jacked up. The Rohirrim are like, yeah, there's a wizard in this tower and ancient tradition that we have no reason to doubt says this mountain is full of ghosts, but walking trees? Short people? I don't think so. Galadriel is like, "Listen I heard you describe what I do as magic and look I just gotta clear some things up, okay." Gondorians are like, yeah, of course the Enemy has spectres of men who lived long ago and never died and can now fly above us and incapacitate us with just their voices. This is just a fact of life, okay? But shut up about this magic weed that makes comatose people better. That's an old wives' tale. Royalty? Press X to doubt.
The people group in Tolkien's work who seem most receptive to magic and least restricted by their own notions of what it can do actually seem to be the hobbits. And they use it to avoid meeting people they don't want to talk to
I enjoy when sci-fi backdrops try to split the difference between presenting futuristic cityscapes and acknowledging that they wouldn't just tear down all the existing infrastructure by keeping the old buildings but having random high-tech shit sticking off of them, like the buildings themselves have cyborg implants.

What are some chronic illnesses that can only occur in a fantasy setting?
The most important thing to remember when adopting a domestic dragon is to get one that fits your personality and lifestyle, since hoarding is only a common practice in some species. If your Cerulean Light-Wing Wyvern begins hoarding bottle caps, it is because your house doesn’t have enough room for it to fly around and comfortably spread out over a number of roosts. It is however, perfectly normal for the Ivory Guard Drake to keep a pile of bones and trinkets that the people it chases off drop near its primary resting spot.
If you have a hoarding dragon, you first need to stop thinking of their gathering as dealing with a problem, and see it as another need that your companion has to be met.
There are a few ways that people will recommend “dealing with” a dragon’s hoarding instincts, the first of which being to ignore it and hope they satisfy themselves, which NEVER WORKS. When young dragons find something that they like, their mind will tell them to claim it as theirs, which can be extremely dangerous if they get things that aren’t designed to be gnawed on like knives or batteries.
The second way is borderline animal abuse, but is the most common method that I’ve heard people trying. Asserting dominance and forcefully dispersing your dragon’s hoard is only going to distress them, especially if you shout or make big, erratic movements as you do so. This will make your companion fearful of you, and more snappy with strangers that come into your home, especially if they are forced to share couch space or stand back while things they want to be theirs are touched and potentially taken by the stranger. This should go without saying, but never get physical with a dragon when you are upset with it. They are faster, sharper, and more specially aware than you are, and even then, they have feelings and do not deserve to be a punching bag for any reason.
The third method, and the best one by far, is to calmly redirect your dragons hoarding to an unobtrusive location in your apartment, house, or property. Most common pet breeds are perfectly happy to pile their selected items in a little closet, especially if you give them a cozy dog bed. This method can take a minute to get through to a dragon, but once they understand that you aren’t stopping their hoarding, they’ll be much calmer about the situation. If you use this method and your dragon takes something dangerous or that you need back, just talk to them. Dragons are intelligent creatures, and if you talk them through why they shouldn’t eat your balls of yarn, they’ll likely understand.
Of course, every dragon is different in their personality and what they even want to hoard, so this whole deal is extremely flexible. If your dragon likes shiny things, trade coins and fun rocks for your TV Remote. If your dragon collects bones from squirrels that get a little too cozy in your backyard, then take the bones and clean them when your dragon is taking a nap. If your dragon doesn’t show any interest in hoarding, then don’t try and get them into the habit for likes on your videos of your “sweet baby pet” trying to claim a statue that’s three times its weight and nearly killing itself by dropping the statue off of a table.
If anyone has any trouble figuring out what all of those boxes and lines mean on the Dragon Breeds website, then I’m more than happy to make a follow up to this guide telling you how to properly pick your draconic life companion, with some information on the bigger breeds as well.
Small domestic house dragons have become the norm. Here is a guide on how to deal with the hoarding instinct of your little one.
Okie so not only have I gained more horses(I have a problem) I have decided to actually use these guys in my book that I’ve been working on and thus have remade them into centaurs for my story so that’s fun
I feel like it should be known, to my friends I have more Breyer horses than that which would be normal
These are just doodles of all of them since the shelves they are on is a mess also I turned them into my OCs hheheheehehe
Just loving the adorableness of Ninma and Narul.
Hello everybody! Life has been hectic and I haven't been able to post here in quite some time. However, I have just finished the second edit of my WIP, Testaments of the Green Sea. I'm currently waiting for my editor (that is my partner) to finish their own read over of the manuscript.
Way back before everything went haywire, I commisioned a piece from @faeporcelain. It turned out amazing but I somehow failed to ever actually post it here for y'all to see it!
This is their rendition of my two MC's Narul and Ninma. Please go check out some more of their things, I really enjoy their style.
I'm not there yet but when I am satisfied with my edits, I would love to find some beta readers. And I would love discussing more about my story. Few things make me as happy as answering random story and worldbuilding questions. I used to post here relatively often, I might start doing that again if everything else in life permits it.
realizing i should prolly post more sketches n shit on tumblr.,. i reckon ill make a tag for it.
this is my current wip for my fairy caste size chart/reference (this is castes like eusocial insects not like people). I think ill ramble more about what ive been cookin up so far when i post the finished one., but essentially i realized i cant give my character azalea an updated design until i have at least a decent ref of the different fairy castes and decide what type he is.
scroll down for complicated bug people lore ⬇️
Important note that the only parts actually finalized here are the sizes and the two completed wing shape/patterns. everything else is just a base for what i will draw over it later. the red notes refer to the type of butterfly wing i am basing their wing types off of. Oh and also the size chart is a six foot scale. for convenience.
LORE: (just a tidbit)
Ive been basing my castes off of ants bc they have super complicated and interesting societies. These fairies are divided up into (in order) Queens, Majors, Drones, Mediae, Minors, and Minims. all names stolen from bugs ofc. You may note the drones are the only ones biologically male but an important aspect of the fairies is that they do not have a concept of gender especially not as it pertains to sex. Their closest approximation to gender are the castes.
the queens are by far the largest and most important part of the fairy society, they are not however, queens, ironically enough. there are multiple queens to each colony, and they will parent pretty much all of the fairies in the colony. They don’t do much work, and the smallest of the fairies (the minims) care for their every need. They very rarely take flight with their wings, and are often lifted by other fairies instead, but when they do the amount of force necessary to lift their body creates a very strong blast of air. any minims around are sure to be scattered. Majors wings are relatively larger and more designed for prolonged flight in comparison, despite their similar shapes (queens wings being more ornamental).
queens also have way bigger and more.,., im not sure how this word is used but lamellate? antennae. aka more feathery like moths. bc they are capable of reading the pheromones of essentially the whole colony to get a good read of it. their antennae are especially sensitive to them. this is likely a remaining trait from a time they had to work harder, as these days, the fairies governing body does the majority of the analysis of the colony to make any important decisions. including the queens own jobs. the government consists of minim royalty as well as big shots from just about every caste. queens typically do little work and are informed of their duties to do by the gov.
this is all im offering for now i actually have unbelievable amounts of information ive been crafting up about fairies recently.
workin on my nyx (stolen name of my god of night lmao) design and other related things. decided to use my character baetyl (who is a night angel) for my last illustration project of the semester so thats been my motivation.
^ this is the sketchh for it. i like how it looks so far <3
and here are the sketches from where i was working on revamping her design.
lore below vvv
some basic info is that she is the head of the main pantheon in the world. in terms of religion popularity the sun god is way bigger but hes dead so its kinda hard to be in charge. both the sun and night god are some form of gnc, ive decided theyre the primordial she/they and he/they-ers. uhhh shes got two daughters (the two moons), one bigger and one smaller which is reflected in a lot of the design. (she loves her weird freak neurodivergent daughters.)
uhhh the night angels (my oc baetyl being the only one designed lmao) are the main angels of the world. do all the enforcing she requires and such.,., theres also sun angels but theyre less of a.,., species? group? theyre more just a couple of freaks.
Nyxes pantheon is pretty much the main one, and she has the most power outside of a few notable gods who aren’t particularly interested in contesting her throne.
also a fun similarity between her and the sun god is the wings, shes got bat and hes got dragon wings (pretty much the same thing).
seems like ive never posted baetyl before so heres his design
hunted down a random older sun god drawing as well for reference. this is no longer accurate but its close enough
been thinking about fairies and amping up their design (more) recently. decided since theyre bugs theyll have another pair ‘a arms.,. also the drawing above is losely based on my character azalea if i wasnt tryin to be accurate <3
fairy lore n developments:
also going to give them more distinct physical classes (based on bug castes) (more specifically leafcutter ants are what ive been looking at recently). very intrigued by the giant tank ants that have little ants to defend them so im thinking about military units fashioned after that.
another thing ive decided is that the patterned side of their wings would face forwards for social reasons so other fairies can see while the usually camouflaged side would face backwards (less of a target from behind). this is specifically the opposite of how butterflies have wings to be camouflaged when closed.
still deciding how theyre going to properly protect these giant ass flimsy wings when not using them but all ive got right now is that their wings are much stronger than the average butterfly.,. and perhaps they cover their wings with some protective material.
oh yeah i was also thinking about how due to the social and physical distinctions being based on caste, and the fact that sex would not have much of a difference in their builds, that they socially would not have a concept of gender as related to sex, but their closest approximation would be caste which i think is a fun dynamic (get ungendered idiots)
(just found this in drafts time to queue this shit up)
anyways we have today: my friends character mack in a jester outfit, some freaks, volcanic god concept, another freak, and a concept.,., for a guy.,.,., bird thing.,.,
concepts for a local deity i made a but ago and remembered that it was fucking cool so i developed it more !!!
some lore if you would like:
local deity worshipped by a group of people, deity was once a creature living in the outskirts of the old growth woods in a time before it receded. it was found inside of a large hollowed tree trunk where it had been for god know how long. it would have had a species when it was still normally alive but they are all extinct now. (making it the last of its kind, or maybe not even that considering its been deified.)
it was pretty neutral towards the people there at first, did not really give a fuck. but over time has become more attached. this is helped by the fact that the religious figures of the group modify their bodies and wear clothing to look like the creature, and they become even more similar over time.
religious figures (some sort of shaman/priest deal im not sure yet) have their outfits to look like the creature, masks with feathers, a cape/cloak? with feathers, the scarf to match the neck, and so on. they also wrap their bodies tightly in cloth strips to compress their limbs and lengthen them. (to match the gangly ass look of the creature)
character up top is named willow (hes a cowboy/pirate in another universe but a selkie in this one)
i have like no proper sketches of this bc it’s difficult to draw but ive been figuring out selkies in my fantasy world. So far ive decided that they turn their skin into a cocoon within which they transform between human/seal. And going with the classic wearing their skin as a coat or clothing item bc its fun and fresh.
Solitary species, women notably larger than men (based on leopard seals). Each individual has their own unique pattern (like a fingerprint) that stays on their fur when they change into a human form. Their size as a seal is also the exact same weight and whatnot as when in human form, so it transfers over evenly.
Also some cultural shit where selkies are considered good luck and fisherman/sailors avoid messing with selkies to avoid bad luck + getting killed, but others who aren’t familiar with them occasionally try and steal their furs (very strong and protective material that also happens to be pretty).
They mingle among humans in order to steal fish from fishermen usually. Fishermen let it slide bc selkies are useful and can find fish schools easily + avoid bad weather.
hello tumblr i spent all of yesterday thinking up fairy designs and lore i actually kinda like them.
here are some cropped parts from the less comprehensible page
it was fun to figure out the life stages (basic bug metamorphosis but humanoid). i spent so long learning about butterflies yesterday.
anyways they’re divided into two classes, sun worshipping elitist weirdos, and the normal ones that are chill. I also decided to give them a sort of eusocial insect societal organization but the chill ones would be a bit less intense in that aspect.
they’re like.,., 1 1/2 feet tall? and live in little fairy cities.
i actually do not have many drawing of things ive designed i need to stop thinking of worldbuilding shit and then leaving it at that. i caint just post words
hunted down these images of a harvest god concept and her acolyte design. I actually really liked my design for both of them which is rare. I have no more specific lore because i do not rember.
i will think about her more later bc i have been collecting all my worldbuilding shit and sorting it <3
Moth race designs + the older god concept that inspired them. don’t look too close at the mouth bc i never got to a point where i liked it.
anyways current lore for these guys until i change it: the moth god is one of the two moon gods (i think the smaller moon?) and the moth race would be divided into the one living on said moon and one living on the continent. they’ve also got a whole thing with their religion and status (represented by the masks)? the ones on the continent probably have to goal of going to the moon. they’re also one of the few species that directly tied to a god and doesn’t have a clear evolutionary line.
spent the last 2 days redrawing this map. Im not good at maps but it is better than the last one!!!! ive been thinking so much about worldbuilding.,. anyways heres without the shit
and heres the older one
made more room for all the fantasy creatures by making the countries smaller.,. also theres a big mountain with a hole in it.,. which already existed but i didnt draw it.
anyways i spent so long attempting to make it make sense even though it is fantasy <3
oh and even more roads so i can think about the war
Ask me anything! Note: my world is a alternative version of Warhammers Old World.
we owe literally no one more on this planet than the woman behind fantasy name generator
Note: this is specifically written for D&D 5E.
The illnesses in the DMG mostly seem to be written as a hazard for the PCs, or a way to legally screw them over if they fail an ill-timed Constitution save. However, sickness in real life is more than that, as exhibited by everyone who’s ever gotten a cold. And as I am currently sick, I felt ideally suited to write about this.
Sickness comes in a lot of different forms, and even the exact same condition can have different symptoms depending on the day. If everything given here applies to a character, then that character is having a VERY bad time and should probably just have stayed home and rested and not gone adventuring. If it’s just one or two things though, that would be someone who’s slightly sick but “I’m fine it’s not that bad I can still go and fight”.
You’re not required to select everything listed under a symptom. They’re all different ways in which something might be expressed, and some are more intense than others.
Everything here is intended to be optional, like if you want to play as someone who is kind of sick, or have an NPC with a cold, or even as a mild curse on a magic item.
BODY ACHES: everything hurts from the neck down.
You have disadvantage on all Acrobatics and Athletics checks.
Every hour, make a DC 12 Constitution save. On a failure, if you are wearing armour or heavy clothing, you gain a level of exhaustion until you take it off; if you are not wearing armour or heavy clothing, you gain a level of exhaustion until you put some on. Note that this does not grant proficiency with any armour, nor remove any armour-related restrictions.
COUGHING: we all know and hate it.
You have disadvantage on Stealth checks that require you to be quiet. In an area of magical silence, or in a noisy environment, for example, this penalty does not apply.
Whenever you attempt to cast a spell with a verbal component, make a DC 10 Concentration check. On a failure, you are unable to properly perform the verbal component due to coughing; the action taken to cast the spell is wasted, but the spell slot is not used.
DECREASED IMMUNE SYSTEM: as if being sick wasn’t bad enough, now you’re more likely to get even more sick.
You have disadvantage on Constitution saves against contracting a disease or suffering the poisoned condition.
DISTORTED APPETITE: you need to eat, but it’s hard to eat.
Any time you attempt to eat or drink something, it has a 25% chance to seem utterly disgusting to you, and require a DC 12 Wisdom save to actually eat or drink it.
Unless you succeed on a DC 10 Constitution save, you can only ingest half the normal amount of food per day; anything more than that gets brought back up. Note that this does not change how much food you actually require.
EARS CLOGGED UP: how are ears even connected to the nose and throat, it just seems unfair.
You have disadvantage on Perception checks that rely on hearing.
You take a -2 penalty on any skill checks that require producing or hearing music.
FOGGY BRAIN: it’s hard to think when your head feels like it’s full of cotton.
You have disadvantage on all ability checks to recall information.
You have disadvantage on all ability checks to learn new information.
Your passive Perception is treated as 5 lower than usual.
If you succeed in your saving throw against an effect that would induce the charmed or frightened conditions, and which has no effect on a successful save, you don’t even notice. Unless the caster was very obvious about directing the spell at you, you have no idea that you were a target.
GENERAL BLAHS: uuuugghh.
You take a -1 penalty to all skill checks.
You take a -1 penalty to all attack rolls.
You take a -1 penalty to all saving throws.
LETHARGY: you wish you’d stayed in bed, and you probably should have stayed in bed.
Your speed is reduced by 5 feet.
You have disadvantage on saves against effects that would restrain you or render you unconscious.
Whenever you take a short rest, make a DC 10 Wisdom save. On a failure, you doze off and are unable to perform any other actions during that short rest, and can only spend one hit dice to recover.
You have disadvantage on initiative rolls.
RUINED VOICE: after extended bouts of intense coughing, you can barely speak.
You can’t verbally communicate with anyone farther than ten feet from you.
Any Performances checks to sing are both at disadvantage and have a -5 penalty.
Social checks that would involve speaking are made at disadvantage, due to how your voice sounds and/or your unfamiliarity at communicating without normal speech.
Whenever you attempt to cast a spell with a verbal component, roll a spellcasting ability check, against a DC of 8 + the spell’s level (cantrips count as zero-level). On a failure, you can’t get the magic to accept words formed with your wrecked voice, and the action used to cast the spell is wasted (but the spell slot is not used up).
Your voice is unrecognizable. You need alternate methods to confirm your identity. However, if you’re trying to pass yourself off as a different person to someone who only has your voice to go off of, you automatically succeed if they have no reason to be suspicious, and you have advantage on the Deception check otherwise.
STUFFED NOSE: if nothing can get in through your nose, it doesn’t seem right that so much mucus can come out from your nose.
You can’t smell anything. You automatically fail Perception or Investigation checks relying on scent.
You cannot breathe through your nose. If your mouth is covered, you risk suffocating.
Your voice sounds weird when N comes out as D and M comes out as B and other sounds are likewise distorted. You have a -2 penalty on verbal Persuasion, Deception, and Intimidation checks, as people have a hard time taking you seriously.
TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATIONS: you feel too hot, and then you feel too cold, and then you feel too hot….
You have disadvantages on saves against the effects of extreme heat or cold.
The only way you’ve found to stay comfortable is with an awkward and constricting array of blankets. You have disadvantage on all Dexterity-based skill checks and Dexterity saves. If you choose to not wear the blankets, you instead have disadvantage on attack rolls and on skill checks that take more than a single action to complete.
WATERY EYES: you legitimately are not crying from pain, but nobody will believe you on that.
You have disadvantage on Perception checks relying on sight.
You have disadvantage on Intimidation checks against someone who can see your eyes.

The “Necromancy is evil“ we see in most fantasy worlds stems from a christian view of having to honor the body after death in a certain way to ensure the soul’s safety in the afterlife. And while I encourage you to explore societies that don’t see necromancy as evil, I also encourage you to explore societies that see necromancy as evil for different reasons.
Drow might believe that after death, your body belongs to Lolth and must be fed to spiders. Reanimating a body means stealing from Lolth and must therefore be punished.
A Zoroastrian inspired society might believe that with death, evil starts infesting the body, so dead bodies must be kept away from the community, and reanimating them keeps them in the community and is therefore bad.
Both factions have FTL, energy shielding, large scale directed energy weapons and control several star systems, but the majority of their infantry is void of shielding and uses kinetic weapons, most frequently a common bullet loading rifle.
The Cazanans have the largest usage of energy weapons in their standard issue Blaster Rifle, a low yield 'snub' rifle with a high fire rate and accuracy. Many of the kinetic rifles out damage it however. Infantry shielding is used almost exclusively by specialist troops and those of a high rank such as field commanders.
The Dronoks field fewer but more powerful DEWs, such as a high power cannon wielded by the Hulk units. Hulks are a special type of infantry that could be classified as a vehicle. It is a very heavy set of power armor equipped with a shield down the left arm, a dual heavy plasma blaster on the right arm and dual retractable melee blades under the left arm shield and a small reactor on their back. Their armor makes them extremely resistant to small arms fire and their cannon is powerful enough for them to singlehandedly destroy light and some medium vehicles.
Cazanan starships equip a large array of energy weapons. Their primary capital ship, the M160, is wedge shaped with overlapping lines of fire meaning that if they line a ship up in front of them, all of their heavy cannons can strike it at once. The M160 has hangars on either side as well as a vehicle bay, allowing it to carry LRVs and tanks to a planet and deploy them via dropship to the surface alongside infantry. The T177 is a frigate housing a very large flight deck, primarily fighters and bombers with a few transports for the few marines it may house. The T177 also carries two particle cannons, the most powerful single weapon in the Cazanan fleet. The cannons are retractable on the underside of the ship, used for damage dealing against large ships and ground bombardment. Other Cazanan ships are not currently made.
Dronok starships use a lot of Magnetic Acceleration Cannons and railguns with a few directed energy weapons. Their P13 Battleship is a long, sleek ship that has four forward facing heavy MACs which put a hurt on shields and rend hulls apart. It has one large hangar bay which goes through the width of the ship. There are many smaller cannons and railguns down the sides of the ship. The predecessor to the P13, the P8, is essentially a huge MAC with a ship built around it. The P8's main cannon is a larger caliber than the P13's quad cannons despite the ship being half the size. The P8 lacks any sort of flight deck, but houses a large array of weapons and heavy armor capable of taking a massive amount of damage without shields.
There are also the Fronzoks (Fox people), who live in much smaller communities but control almost all the systems surrounding the Cazanan-Dronok war. They as a whole avoid the conflict, intervening only when they or their interests are threatened.
The Cazanan and Dronok's view of the galaxy is extremely narrow minded. They only acknowledge each other and the Fronzoks and only think of their immediate region of space. There are explorers who do venture off into the uncharted, frequently stopping by Fronzok worlds for supplies or advice before venturing into the unknown.
Guess who’s world-building! I need help from all my readers in regards to my new Refraction au, so ask away! Anything and everything is accepted, no matter how crazy it may be.

Summary: a girl who has been living a normal life is in denial that she is anything more than ordinary, but a sorcerer keeps pestering her into admitting she is like him
word count: 750
Authors notes: I wrote this a while ago, it's all from my brain from what I recall and I have no recollection of where I intended to take this story, but I'm willing to figure it out if you guys want me to. this is a completely original world and characters. high fantasy?

On Emily’s eighteenth birthday, she notices unexplainable things happening around her. Objects seem to move if she squints at them. Faint, golden sparks seem to shoot from her fingertips. Dreams of a handsome stranger with violet eyes plague her at night. At first, she chalks it all up to her imagination. Still, a week after her birthday, the mysterious stranger from her dreams approaches her and reveals that she is a high-born sorcerer who was hidden in the human world as a baby for his protection. He explained that Emily is now coming into a powerful arsenal of magic and is destined to be the ruler of the kingdom of Tulia, which will fall apart if she continues residing in the human world.
Emily herself had pale skin, jet black hair up in a slightly messy bun, her eyes were a vivid green that almost seemed to shimmer. The mysterious stranger has short blond hair, sun kissed skin, and bright violet eyes with a slight glow.
“Please your highness return to your rightful place in Tulia. Regain the throne from those who wish ill upon your citizens and reign a new era of happiness, peace, and prosperity.” Begged the mysterious stranger, “You do not know me, I am Zaros the right-hand sorcerer to her majesty the queen Amy Gloom.”
“My, I’m pretty honored by your request but my graduation is in a couple of days and then I was going to go to college, also if I have to leave I would have needed to put in my two weeks' notice three weeks ago-” Emily was interrupted
“Please, my darling, please follow me and save our souls”
“Uhhh…” Emily stammered with confusion “you don’t even know my name, how do you know you have the right person?”
“It is clear that you possess the spirit Uisus, all you must do is look in the mirror” Zaros stated, looking deeply within her eyes and examining her hair, as if to double check. “Have you noticed mysterious things happening, things that others might not be able to understand, see, or recreate?”
“Uhhmm. I have to go, I hope you find who you’re looking for” Emily hesitated, with an artificial wish for this mysterious man, she attempted to escape from this conversation
“I’m sorry, this all must be too much information for you. Very shocking, I understand. Let me take you somewhere where we can sit and I will explain it all in great detail, don’t pretend like you don’t see me!” He reasoned while chasing after her. Emily hoped that someone around would acknowledge this strange man harassing her and help her but no one even seemed to notice the fact that he was there, simply seeing through him. All their crazy eyes focused on her, who seemed to be arguing with and running from the wind. “Please listen to me! We need you! You can continue your education in Tulia! I will find a replacement for your job here, they won’t even notice!”
“Please stop, you're not real, you’re just a hallucination of my recurring dream that’s all. You can go away now!” Emily sounded as if she was convincing herself more than her pursuer. Emily stumbled with a yelp, falling into what seemed like the bottomless rabbit hole to wonderland.
