Fight of Mauzag.
A litle of lore: In the background is the city of Mauzag, which is suffering from an unexpected attack by the Prasesionst. Gretchen and August run to save the wounded Hans. Defending this city will take a lot of soldiers lives.
Okay so a few days ago I had to watch this ww1 video for my history class that had color corrected photos of soldiers that were alive and were killed with actual footage of ww1 and in the background there were ww1 survivors explaining what they saw and thought during the war and uhhh… let’s just say the last story hit me the hardest… to the point I become a poet who was at the brink of tears.
So this was basically the poem thingy? idk what it is but oh well.
Also cant believe my birthday is the same day as when the first episode of Riptide came out so happy how many years it’s been since the first episode of riptide came out on youtube ig?
There are two wolves inside of me, one is wanting to cry on my birthday and the other is my hyperfixations… and the two are doing the boombayah… anyway

Vasily Ivanovich Chapaev
2 мая 1892 года в Бреслау (тогда относился к Королевству Пруссии) родился Манфред Альбрехт фон Рихтгофен — легендарный (и один из самых известных) германский лётчик-истребитель, ставший лучшим лётчиком-асом Первой мировой войны с 82 сбитыми самолётами противника. Известен по прозвищу «Красный Барон» ( Der Rote Baron), которое получил за свой выкрашенный в ярко-красный цвет самолет-истребитель -Fokker.Dr.I
В начале войны Рихтгофен служил офицером кавалерии, но в мае 1915 года перешёл добровольно в авиацию, где стал пилотом-наблюдателем. Первый самолёт он сбил 17 сентября 1916 года в районе Камбре.
За свою карьеру «Красный барон» одержал более 80 боевых побед. Погиб Рихтгофен 21 апреля 1918 года от случайной пули, попавшей ему в грудь , которая пробила все жизненно важные органы. Знаменитому лётчику было всего 25 лет.
9 февраля 1887 года родился Василий Иванович Чапаев — участник Первой мировой и Гражданской войн, начальник дивизии в Красной армии.
С началом Первой мировой войны был призван в армию, прошёл обучение в унтер-офицерской школе. Кавалер трёх Георгиевских крестов и Георгиевской медали, фельдфебель.
После Октябрьской революции стал организатором отрядов Красной гвардии в Николаевском уезде, командиром полка, бригады, дивизии РККА. Воевал с выступившими против Советской власти уральскими казаками и чешскими легионерами. Был направлен в качестве слушателя первого набора Академии Генерального штаба Красной армии, но покинул её самовольно, не справившись с трудностями в учёбе. Был назначен начальником 25-й стрелковой дивизии, отличился при взятии Уфы. Кавалер ордена Красного Знамени.
Имя Чапаева получило широкую известность после выхода в 1923 году романа «Чапаев» Дмитрия Фурманова, служившего комиссаром в его дивизии, и одноимённого фильма братьев Васильевых в 1934 году.

The last death of WWI I can find information on was in 2014, although there could be a more recent one. 2 Belgian construction workers were killed by a shell around march of that year.
The problem with WWI in particular is that they sat for four years on roughly the same lines, the shells were often duds (1 in 4 to 1 in 3), and 1.5 billion were fired on the western front alone. In addition to that you have the possibility of gas shells which are still very dangerous if the gas gets released. There are some areas of France and Belgium where 99% of plants will die.
And then there are all the other conflicts and the later you go the worse it tends to get, with mines and cluster munitions.
So, uh, yeah. War is bad but you probably didn't need me to tell you that. Some estimates say it will take 300-700 years to clear out the WWI battlefields.

🇬🇧 William Claude Rains took a hiatus from acting when WW1 broke out and volunteered to serve in the London Scottish Regiment. In November of 1916, he was wounded in a gas attack at Vimy. He lost 90% of vision in his right eye and suffered vocal cord damage. He never returned to combat, but continued to serve with the Bedfordshire Regiment. By the end of the war, he had risen to the rank of captain.
