I drew some World War I uniforms of different countries. I think I liked drawing the German one the most, or the Bulgarian one.
British - Belgian, Italian, Serbian
Ottoman - French
German - Bulgarian, Austro-Hungarian
Indian, Australian - Russian
this is the style i almost settled on for the novel. it took me forever to even get to that point (because i had originally planned to put myself through the ordeal of working traditionally) and even then, after trying time and time again for a month, i still wasn't satisfied. the style just felt too soft and illustrative and i needed something sharp and bold if that makes sense and so i spent another month trying to get there :')
anyway, here's some concept art from back in april or may
no posts lately because i'm not doing great but these studies are all i had motivation for today
i couldn't bring myself to properly taking my time with this because i just closed my software after hour 1 and i couldn't keep going at all
i might need a break
I wanted to say that I love your art! I think its super cool and that when you do finish your graphic novel for All Quiet I will be shelling out money for it <3
Thank you so much for the kind words, all support means the world to me, and I appreciate all the positive feedback everyone has given me since I started sharing my process. As far as the publishing the novel is concerned, I really hope it gets to see the light of day, especially since I am taking care of everything myself, but hope dies last :')
full gear study also from a while back :)
night
