I've heard that mongo is better these days (wouldn't know, have not paid it any attention in years), but in ~2010 when this was all happening, it was dogshit. It basically had no durability or fault-tolerance, it would do things like lie to you and say a write had completed when it never even left the client (you could get early mongo drivers to say a write was done when your wifi was disconnected and ethernet unplugged), and it justified all of this with "but it's web scale!".
At the time, BASE was new and exciting and people were kinda going off half-cocked with it, and also didn't yet know that you could have BASE without it being shitty. Sirer was being a sort of corrective market short to all the hype.

I sick of people telling what I am
For the past month I look up biracial on Twitter and youtube most of the time it "you not black enough" or "you not white enough" then what am I? Bc a lot of people on both platforms said I can't be both. I'm biracial (white/black) I have a lot of black features and some white features but when I come to my skintone I both bc my mom is really pale and my dad is really dark an my skintone is in between. My hair is kinky (like really kinky) my eyes are brown
My skintone have brown in it
My eye shape is similar to my dad's
And my nose
I get this from my dad side.
But some features are on my mom side
Like my ear size
some time my face
Her height
Her body shape.
I'm both of them so please stop saying shit like " your not black enough for this" just bc I don't talk or joke the same as you same thing with the white side and I getting really tired of people saying I have to choose one side of my family and then tell me I not enough for this.
I love my both side of my family and I not going to choose one just to please your views on me!

Leslie feinberg was a real person who existed and i’m posting about hir again because i deleted the last post i made on hir.
The first photo is Leslie Feinberg from some time in the 70’s, the second is her with her wife Minnie Bruce Pratt.
Feinberg identified both as a lesbian, and as transgender. he was a queer and workers rights activist and a Palestinian liberation activist. He fought for the freedom of Mumia Abu-Jamal, who received the death penalty after an unfair trial regarding the shooting of a police officer. He believed that all communities, met with oppression, from the government, and on the social level, should come together for the sake of all of us being liberated.
Ze went by multiple sets of pronouns based on context, going by he/him, to honour his transgender identity, referring to zemself with ze/hir pronouns personally, and going by she/her to signify gender incongruence with her masculine appearance in certain spaces.
Ze wrote two novels about the queer experience, drag king dreams in 2006, and stone butch blues in 1993, which is considered a seminal text in the history of trans and lesbian writing.
Feinberg passed away in twenty-fourteen, hir last words were “Remember me as a revolutionary communist.”
Don’t forget about transmasc lesbians, they’ve been around for longer than you’d think. Their history shouldn’t be erased.

That’s not to say feminism doesn’t matter, but that it wasn’t all she wrote about.)
