I’m having a crisis. Did Victor kiss Yuuri? Did he not? Did they brush lips or did he just brush against the corner of his mouth or his cheek? I have no idea. Wednesday can’t come fast enough.

ON THIN ICE— the enemies to lovers figure skating AU you didn’t know you needed until now.
the heated rivalry between the nation’s two most prominent skaters comes to a head at the european championships. anthony crowley, otherwise known as The Serpent, is both beloved and notorious for his rebellious nature and reckless abandon on ice.
after losing to his greatest rival, aziraphale fell, and a disastrous publicity event, anthony is temporarily suspended and barred from competing in the upcoming world championships.
aziraphale, dubbed the Angel on Ice for his captivating choreography and angelic nature, takes anthony’s spotlight in his absence. as the new season approaches, anthony is released from his suspension— will the fallen from grace skater make his comeback?
neither one of them are ready for what happens next.
i can’t promise i will write it but it is in development and i’ve been getting back into writing more, so i would really love to make this a thing. and if you think this sounds like the love child of yuri on ice and blades of glory you might be correct

Another thing that I love about YOI is that Victor and Yuuri's love goes beyond your average idol/fan relationship
Because typically, a plot line like Yuri on Ice's is almost always a recipe for disaster. They had every opportunity to make Victor this huge egotistical asshole who cares for nobody but himself, therefore turning his relationship with Yuuri into something toxic and unhealthy.
But they didn't.
Instead, they decided to make Victor one of the silliest, lighthearted characters on the show. He's a supportive, energetic, loving character who spends the entire series being over the moon about helping his lover reach his full potential.
Victor isn't perfect. He has many flaws. His emotional intelligence lacks in many areas, and he isn't great at comforting people. His pep talks can be tone deaf and he tends to like the attention he gets a little too much at times. and yes, he may be a bit overconfident at times (even if that confidence is earned).
But never once has his 'living legend' status ever affected his love and desire for Yuuri.
He truly sees Yuuri as his equal, and he loves him like breathing.
This much is obvious throughout most of the show, just based on Victor's actions, words, and open affections for Yuuri (more of this is talked about in my previous post). But it becomes even clearer in episode 10, when we get insight on the real reason why Victor showed up to Hasetsu to coach Yuuri.
All it took for this man to fall head over heels for Yuuri was a drunken dance (and maybe some dry humping...)
Their relationship is so perfectly set up. All of Victor's flirting, instead of being something creepy and predatory in nature, was just him being oblivious to the fact that Yuuri had no recollection of the banquet. He'd been trying so hard to get Yuuri to acknowledge what had happened that night by teasing him and making moves on him, and Yuuri was clueless the entire time.
It's such a silly concept, but it really does change everything.
I'm so glad that Victor and Yuuri's relationship didn't turn out to be something toxic and uncomfortable, and I'm glad Victor doesn't follow the stereotypical idol/celebrity character norms. They made his character extremely likable and easy to love, and made Victor and Yuuri's relationship into something so incredibly beautiful. The entire show was so well done, and the amount of thought that was put into each and every detail is evident.
There is so much to love about Yuri on ice, and this is just one small example of that.
Yuri on Ice was one of the first fandoms I ever got into, like among the first 5. This feels absolutely wild, after years of radio silence he’s home.

Yuri on Ice holds such a special place in my heart. It’s what kickstarted my love for anime in general and led me to discover my favorite genres. It also gave me more confidence in my own sexuality and identity in general. I love seeing the community and am so happy that everyone will continue to thrive even with no more official content coming out. So, this is my thank you to yuri on ice. For showing me a whole new world of amazing people and series and for letting me learn how to love myself and find my own confidence to be unconditionally me. You have always and forever will hold a special place in my heart. And, of course, see you next level!

it doesn’t matter how many times i re-watch yuri on ice the music will always make me emotional
it’s so beautiful
it makes me feel so many things that i can’t put a label on
The overwhelming sadness i feel at the fact that i wont get to watch yuri on ice again for atleast some time because i only got to watch it the first time over a free trial to crunchyroll is fucking immeasurable, i saw a single amv and it changed my tiny child life, went searching for anyway i could find to watch it, eventually gave into the subscription gods and started a crunchyroll free trial so i could watch, and i have never regretted it once in my life.
If u don't mind me asking (/again/ *sweats nervously*), how did young Yuuri and Young Victor meet? (I'm really into his AU , ITS PURE GOLD)
I like the idea that a 15 year old Victor came to Japan and got lost. Maybe it’s for vacation with his family or business with Yakov because he was already an amazing skater at a young age.
He wanders around a bit and one way or another, he finds himself at the Ice Castle.
Now, jumping to 11 year old Yuuri and the gang. They should be walking back from school and heading to Ice Castle for their daily freelance skating. Just kids having fun, y’know. Then surprise, surprise, they witness Victor skating, being as elegant as he always is even as a teenager. (I’m not drawing all that because I’m not ready to die just yet.)
The three of them would stare at Victor’s mini performance, not even knowing that he was being watched. (Well, Takeshi’s too busy looking at his crush, but he would have enjoyed the performance anyway–)
By the end of it, Victor will notice them and skate towards them like “Did you enjoy the show?” with that sly smirk of his.
That’s basically how they meet!
Yuuri forms a new crush, and Victor thinks he’s cute `v`
Okay but imagine Yuuri retires from professional figure skating at 27, and he decides to go back to college to become a teacher.
So this boy walks into class sporting the just-rolled-out-of-bed look with the sex hair and the big comfy sweater and the starbucks cup in one hand.
And you know, he’s enjoying his life, he makes friends in his program and on the weekends he helps his husband teach cute little kids how to skate and they have this cozy little house together in a nice neighbourhood. He probably has girls and guys falling for him left and right.
And then one day, Yuuri’s out with his friends, and they’re at a cafe or something.
And a group of girls comes up to them, and they’re all blushing and nudging each other saying “You talk first!”.
So Yuuri just turns this absolutely blinding smile on them and asks, “Autographs?”
The girls squeak, and nod furiously.
“Sure!” he says, reaching out for the notebooks they’re holding out for him to sign.
And about ten minutes later, after several selfies and autographs and a lot of gushing and squealing and “Please let Viktor know we’re looking forward to Yuratchka’s upcoming season,” the girls leave.
So Yuuri turns back to his friends, and they’re all just staring at him with wide eyes and gaping mouths.
Yuuri kinda wonders if there’s something on his face.
The first thing that comes out of anyone’s mouths is, “…who’s Viktor?”
And Yuuri’s kinda confused as he replies, “….my husband?”
“YOU’RE MARRIED!?!?!?!?” his friends all shriek.
Yuuri looks down at his hand to make sure his ring is still there. “Yeah?” he says, holding his hand up.
“I thought that was just a fashion statement!” one of the girls exclaims.
“Why did they want your autograph though?” asks another of his friends, and Yuuri just looks away sheepishly.
“I’m…uh….a retired pro figure skater?” he asks, his voice going higher with embarrassment. “And I…uh…got 2 golds in the Grand Prix…and 2 golds in Worlds….and maybe a silver in Pyeongchang?”
His voice gets progressively quieter as his face gets even redder.
His friends are staring at him in horror and shocked disbelief now.
And he thinks he might as well get it all out now.
“And…my husband might be the most decorated athlete in figure skating history?”
