You yawned, playing with the rings on Eddie's fingers as your eyes began to fall closed. Eddie was in awe of you, his best friend of twelve years, as you fell asleep against his chest, eyelashes fluttering against your cheeks as you struggled to keep awake. You were so beautiful, so perfect, and he was utterly, heads over heels in love with you.

He kissed your head and stroked your fingers with his thumb. "You can go to sleep, Bubs," he murmured into your hair. "You don't have to stay awake for me."

You hummed, squirming a little before nestling into the hollow of his chest. You let your eyes fall shut and exhaled softly. "I love you, Eddie," you mumbled, too tired to filter yourself.

Eddie inhaled sharply, eyes widening. He sighed and pressed another kiss to your head. "I love you too, (Y/N)."
