While Minato and Itachi often have their skills blown way out of proportion, Kakashi has people, even fans of him and not only haters, who often think that he's some helpless depressed old man who can't do almost anything and will pass out in 0.7 seconds, and that he's weaker after losing the Sharingan
This is true and i kinda hate it.
Like i get it, he’s far from being the strongest in a world with broken powers.
But in the world of regular ass shinobi without god like powers or broken eyes? He’s top tier. Kakashi is one of the best regular shinobi, alongside A, Mei, Tsunade, Jiraiya, orochimaru, Hiruzen.
They’re all incredibly talented and people need to stop downgrading Kakashi abd making him look like this weak pathetic excuse of a shinobi.
Kakashi Hatake
people call kakashi emotionally incompetent but honestly i think he’s the opposite. he always seems to have the right words to say to people close to him when they’re hurting. like he didn’t walk away from iruka during the famous park bench scene, instead he turned back around and straight up told iruka that he’d provide a listening ear if he wanted to talk. he comforted naruto during the land of waves arc after zabuza and haku were laid to rest next to each other. he was the one to go find naruto after his talk with nagato and konan to make sure that he was okay and to bring him back to konoha. kakashi doesn’t turn away from emotionally intense situations and honestly i think he’s quite good at maneuvering them! it’s very interesting to me that in fanon he’s always shown as someone who avoids social interactions and fumbles when it comes to others’ emotions when time and time again it’s shown in canon that he supports his comrades emotionally with little discomfort.
this was the moment where i knew i was a goner.
i didn’t even LIKE this show back when i watched these episodes, and yet i specifically remember mumbling “oh my god” when i heard those steps on the porch and kakashi’s gentle voice saying can i talk to you.
the idea that this man would even take the time. kakashi met these people two days ago. he’s a total stranger to them. he’s not responsible for inari. he’s not a part of inari’s family. he’s a temporary employee, one who’s not even being paid for his work, thanks to tazuna’s lie. he has absolutely no reason to get involved when this tiny child has a meltdown at the dinner table - and yet.
out he goes onto the porch, after the crying child. the fact that he does this at all would be admirable enough in its own right, but it’s not just that. it’s the way he’s such a natural with children, the way he’s such an intuitively skilled teacher, the way he treats inari with the same kind of respect that he would afford to a fellow adult, while still addressing him in a way that a younger mind can easily understand. it’s the “can i talk to you” - giving this little child the autonomy to say no, instead of using the fact that one person is an adult and one is a child to force an interaction. it’s the way he always refers to kaiza as “your father,” even though inari and kaiza weren’t technically related (and even though the first thing tazuna says about kaiza is “he wasn’t [inari’s] real father”) - kakashi takes his cues from inari, and for inari, kaiza WAS his real father, and so that’s what kakashi calls him, every single time. it’s the way he acknowledges that what naruto said wasn’t very nice. it’s the way he gently explains the circumstances that might have prompted naruto to say something like that, opening inari’s eyes to how naruto and inari have experienced similar pains. and it’s the way he does all of this without giving away a single hint that his own childhood might have been anything other than perfectly pleasant - the complete decentering of the self, the mending of the children around him without them ever realizing a single thing about why he does it.
kakashi tells inari “i think [naruto] knows better than any of us what you’re going through” - and at the time when i was watching, i was like “sure, sounds legit!” but now, looking back, and armed with so much more information, i know the truth, which is that there’s someone in the room who understands inari even better than naruto. naruto grew up without parents, yes. but the story tazuna tells Team 7 isn’t about growing up alone and shunned as an orphan. it’s about inari having a father who he loved and revered (“the man who taught us the word courage, who was known as a hero”), and then having him be (literally, on an actual cross) crucified for standing up for what’s right (“this man has defied the gato corporation…he has disturbed the order of this land”), and then inari having a trauma-induced crisis and rejecting his father’s heroic ideals because they no longer feel real or possible to him (“since then, inari’s changed. so did tsunami, and all our people…we lost our will”), and then inari ripping his father’s face out of their family photo in the kitchen (“[inari] never laughs or smiles anymore. ever since that day when everything changed.”)
naruto and inari do end up connecting eventually, because kakashi helps them recognize where they have common ground. but the person at the table who really understands the crying child (the child who’s shouting “there’s no such thing as a hero!”) is kakashi. the person who really understands inari’s anger at being left behind - at having a beloved parent make a decision that takes them out of your life forever, when they could have just kept their heads down and stayed with you - is kakashi. the person who understands both inari’s rage at others’ idealism and his unwillingness to break gato’s rules as feelings that come from a place of fear (“gato’s got a whole army; he’ll beat you down and they’ll destroy you!”) is kakashi.
you told me that you’d protect me and this land with both your arms. you made me believe you could do it. but it was all just a lie!
kakashi understands. he knows, and just like always, he steps in to help. he sees a suffering child, and he knows he can do something about it, and he gets involved, even though he doesn’t have to, even though it’s not his job, even though there is literally no reason why he should be the one to comfort this kid when inari’s mother and grandfather are sitting right there in the same house. kakashi doesn’t do it because he’s obligated. he does it because he can’t NOT do it, because this is who he is, because this is how much he cares, because he’s the avatar for what jiraiya tells young!nagato in the pain arc: “it is because one understands such pain that generosity towards others becomes second nature.”
this scene with inari is in episode TWELVE. twelve, of one thousand. at this point in the show, we know nothing about kakashi. we have no idea what his life has been like. but this show still tells us exactly who he is, right then and there, when he walks out onto that porch and asks a stranger’s crying child “can i talk to you?” from that point on, we know - he’s The Teacher. he’s the one who walks ahead of everyone else, enduring his own pain and using it to help others navigate theirs. he’s the support structure. he’s the guide, the protector of children. it was true nine hundred episodes ago in the land of waves, and it’s true where i’m currently watching, too, in the shadow of the infinite tsukuyomi, when kakashi asks sasuke “what is your current dream?” - because never mind the war, never mind the three intervening years of conflict and bad blood, never mind the danger encroaching on all sides - kakashi is still kakashi. he’s still the one who sees a lost child and asks, “can i talk to you?”
i’m not sure he’ll get a response as positive as inari’s this time, or that he’ll get any response at all, but i think it matters to remember that nothing - nothing - has ever changed him from being the kind of person who asks this question.
it’s interesting how kakashi was made to look like a deadbeat teacher by fandom when this is literally him in the manga lmao
- Worrying for team 7 in Chuunin exam and get reassured by Naruto’s confidence
- Analyze, confirm and told Asuma + Kurenai about Akatsuki’s identity and target (Naruto) [just after receiving 3 days Tsukuyomi time of continuous stabbing]
- Encouraging Shikamaru to check on Naruto and said that he worried for Naruto’s well being more than cracking the code
- Hesitate to say to Naruto about Tsunade’s Rasen Shuriken ban after hearing Naruto’s dream and determination
- instigate Naruto to talk about Minato as his father
- Cushioning Naruto from Rasengan vs Chidori impact
- Let Sasuke dispersed Zabuza’s Water Clone
- Use his blood to seal Sasuke’s curse seal
- Trained to get stronger to protect Sasuke
- Order Sakura, Naruto, and Shikamaru to bring Sasuke to a safe place
And the reason why he gave that mission is because he can sense the danger of Gaara’s Bijuu chakra
- Investigate Itachi’s intention to Sasuke
[again, just after receiving 3 days Tsukuyomi time of continuous stabbing]
- Evaluate Team 7′s dream and how far they achieve it, then ask Sasuke about his current dream.
- Making sure of Sakura’s willingness to enter Chuunin Exam outside Naruto and Sasuke’s insistance.
- Carrying fainted Sakura and shushing the boys from awakening her (and Ino).

According to Kishimoto, Kakashi is the ideal master for him compared to Jiraiya and Iruka.
Interestingly, I find many Naruto fans from Tumblr and Reddit disagree with him. Naruto fanboys on Reddit who is full of power scaling lover dudebros thought that Jiraiya is the ideal master because both Naruto and him are not “geniuses” and Jiraiya taught 2 jutsu to him, Summoning Jutsu and Rasengan, compared to Kakashi who just taught about developing Rasen Shuriken (offensive attack speaking). As for Naruto fans on Tumblr prefer Iruka because they generally saw Kakashi as apathetic and emotionless man, so they like Iruka who is more soft and considerate.
Not gonna say that they were wrong because ideal standard is different from person to person, but in Kishimoto’s case, he explicitly said that Kakashi is the ideal master to him because Kakashi is “A protecting Master who instead yelling at you, explain what went wrong and how to fix it. Someone who pushed his student forward instead of yelling him back to square 0”.
Meaning Kishimoto prefers this :
(On that panel above, Kakashi has yet become Team 7′s teacher)
Instead of these :
In the same interview, Kishimoto also said that he had a very stern and rude master image in his head, but he wants Kakashi to be a more laid back teacher, gave him kindness and woman-like speech pattern.
The “woman-like” speech pattern here I think is about how soft-spoken Kakashi is toward children. Compared to other males in Narutoverse, Kakashi has a very calm way to speak with kids and never shy about emotional conversation, like he told Haku about Zabuza’s feeling when they got Edo-Tensei-ed although Zabuza is still in the deep of “A shinobi must never show emotion” motto XD. In fact, I found this similarity between Kakashi and Inari’s conversation :
And Mikoto-Sasuke’s conversation :
Tl : dr = I’ll never declare Kakashi as the best or ideal master (unlike Kishimoto haha). But when I first arrived at Naruto fandom, I was so surprised at fandom’s depiction of Kakashi as emotionless military teacher. Like, did no one see that Kakashi is actually a giant softie? He’s like 20x way softer compared to my real life teachers. Or is it cultural difference?
As for this topic, I wholeheartly agree with this post :
Although of course I didn’t saw him as loving mother XD (Translation error? The actual page is in Chinese and I use Google Translate Page to convert it to english).
What is it about my page that entices you? I’m not interested! Get lost!
no shade but wanting to fuck anime characters is weird even if youre good looking
no offense but i don’t give a fuck!!!!! kakashi can hit it raw!!!!
@migila I don't know, is doing literally everything we see in Boruto counts as "remarkable"?!!!
All the advanced technology, trains, computers, internet, architecture, strong economy, getting rid of the corrupted system, getting rid of Root and all of Danzo's followers, helping Sakura open the first ever mental health clinic, maintain peace between the nations, making the entire fire nation the richest, not to mention that he has forbidden killing enemies so they can end the cycle of hatred and revenge... Literally everything you see in Boruto happened in Kakashi's reign, the day Naruto became Hokage, when Kakashi retired and handed Naruto the Hokage hat, all of that was already there so... 🤷🏻♀️
I will never forgive that person who made the fake screenshot of the blow up the moon meme, the biggest misconception/misinformation in the Naruto fandom.
please be nice to me, i'm in my twenties. do you know what that does to a person
Kakashi is so humble. Like he’s the Rokudaime and just chilling with his friends watching the chunin exams. He probably could have had a box seat, but no. He’s hanging out with the rest of the sensei’s. 😭
This may seem stupid to some but i can never see Kakashi as ‘messy’
We see him cook for himself, clean his own home. We see even as an adult his space is clean (yes i know the great shoe debate but wearing shoes in his home doesn’t change the fact it’s clean and Konoha doesn’t have weather that would make wearing shoes inside super horrible (like in canada))
We know Kakashi is constantly pushing Naruto to eat healthy, telling us he cares deeply about taking care of himself and his health.
Hatake Kakashi is simply not a messy man. His idea of messy is screwed and he probably only see’s Iruka’s desk when Iruka isn’t working so it’s easy for him to think ‘oh i’m messy with my few stray papers and iruka is organized’ (there’s also the fact the hokage has way more paperwork than the academy principle)
And most importantly, being messy is not a sign of being ‘more relaxed’. I find cleaning relaxing and i think cleaning helps Kakashi to keep his mind focused and away from terrible thoughts that otherwise haunt him.
The man loves to have a clean space and he finds comfort in cleaning
Obito…..in all his near infinite power and ability, his greatest and most impressive act was manifesting his own free will through spite. He literally put his heart in KAKASHI’S HANDS to take it back from madara he trusts Kakashi to kill the part of him that is madara even though at this point he thinks that part is probably all of him. If it is Kakashi will kill it and MADARA for good if it isn’t Obito’ll become God this is a win win scenario because he loves Kakashi and trusts him.
How old is kakashi through out the series when he was young to boruto sorry
Thank you for the ask
• According to my research and calculations Sakumo died when Kakashi was 4 (I explained this here)
• According to the Manga Kakashi graduated from the academy at 5 and became Chunin at 6.
• Again according to my calculations here he became Jounin at 9 which is based on Naruto Shippuden episode 483 which is a filler BUT!! we have another filler episode in Boruto states that Kakashi was 12 when he became Jounin so like @pax-thuban said before it's the battle of fillers lol, I myself would choose Naruto fillers over Boruto fillers any given day but if you chose to go with the Boruto filler for this part, that would be okay too I guess.
• According to Kakashi Anbu arc, Itachi joined Anbu at 11 and was slightly younger than Kakashi when he joined Anbu so Kakashi was 12/13 years old when he joined Anbu.
• He was 14 years old when Naruto was born and Minato died the day of the Kyuubi attack.
• He spent 10 years in Anbu before Hiruzen makes him a Jounin Sensei so he was around 22/23 when he left Anbu and became Jounin Sensei and started failing kids lol.
• He started teaching team 7 at 26 according to the 1st databook and he was 27 when og Naruto ended according to the 2nd databook.
• He was 29 at the beginning of Shippuden according to the 3rd databook and 31 at the end of the war according to the 4th databook.
• He became Hokage at 32 according to Kakashi Hiden.
• He was 33 in Naruto the movie which was 2 years after the war.
• He was 46 at the beginning of Boruto since Naruto stated that 15 years has passed since the end of the war in Boruto the movie.
• And according to the recent Boruto episodes a year has passed so right now he is 47.
It’s okay, forget the bell. You wouldn’t have gotten it anyway, even if hell froze over.
He really can't let a chance to troll his kids go by without taking it, can he? 😂 I love how Naruto nearly had a heart attack just by thinking that he disappointed Kakashi sensei for a second. Hokages or not, their bond is as strong as ever, I love them 🥹❤️
From the latest Boruto episode 286.
It's normal to feel this way about fictional men
I love animation.
so my apartment building got a notice board to post fire alarm tests and maintenance announcements and such. the building is pretty well-maintained, so we rarely get notices. the board is big and grey and to think it would be empty like that 99% of the time was a bland boring sin i just couldn't bear, so i vandalized the corner of its empty canvas with a teeny tiny Guy
and within a few days, there was a sudden addition from my one of my neighbors along with a Bunch of thumbtacks. this was an unexpected, but welcome surprise!
well there was still so much space, i figured i'd add another crumb to the art hoard. i'd been playing genshin that day so i drew my favorite grandpa
and like clockwork, new art manifested!! this person is gonna grow to be a great artist i know it. the detail in those stones? hell yeah that's cool.
we're two weeks into it. more neighbors have joined in with their artwork. who knew there were so many artists in my building?? we're onto somethin great here i just know it.
“If I had time travel I’d kill Hitler” “If I had time travel I’d stop my favourite politician getting assassinated” you’re all thinking way too small. If I had time travel I’d stop Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin from dying on the moon due to Soviet sabotage, kicking off the Great Nuclear War and devastating half of the planet.
Tumblr telling me I can give gifts to blogs I love as if I'm not right in the middle of reporting and blocking their bot ass like ajshatfav
i don’t care about straight actors playing queer people in media all i care about is if theyre going to put their whole pussy into it. tom hardy of course ive had gay sex im an actor. keanu reeves and river phoenix going to gay clubs in seattle and making out in public. heath ledger almost breaking jake gyllenhal’s nose because he kissed him too hard. when will actors do this again.
