A friendly reminder of the existence of this T-shirt.
Hell yeah!
Me: hey Google has anyone bothered to write a book about Bob Gilruth?
Google: I’m sorry did you say “algorithm t-shirts” or “books”?
Some of my favorite parts of “Apollo 11″ were these little (way too short) snippets so I thought I’d gif some of them :)

Creation of NASA
“1969 July 16: Family watching blast off on TV with crossed fingers. NASA. Space Program"
On July 29, 1958, Dwight D. Eisenhower signed legislation to create The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The organization absorbed its predecessor, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), after the Soviet Union launched its first satellite in October 1957.A few years later, President Kennedy announced an ambitious goal for the U.S. to put a man on the moon before the end of the 1960’s. On July 20th, 1969, eleven years after NASA was created, Neil Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the lunar surface.
