(4 Dec. 1965) ā Fellow astronauts join the Gemini-7 prime crew for breakfast in the Manned Spacecraft Operations Building, Merritt Island, on the day of the Gemini-7 launch. Clockwise around the table, starting lower left, are astronauts James A. Lovell Jr., Gemini-7 prime crew pilot; Walter M. Schirra Jr., Gemini-6 prime crew command pilot; Donald K. Slayton, MSC assistant director for Flight Crew Operations; Virgil I. Grissom, Gemini-6 backup crew command pilot; Charles Conrad Jr., Gemini-5 prime crew pilot; and Frank Borman, Gemini-7 prime crew command pilot. Photo credit: NASA

My favorite things about this photo, in no particular order:
Ed Whiteās expression
Jim and Frank. Just in general. But also that weird bald patch on Frankās head.
HOLY SHIT LOOK AT PETE. PETE, I LOVE YOUR FACE.
The little blurbs about them on the side are totally distressing: why are they giving out these poor fellasā heights and weights?
On that same note, why is John so goddamn heavy? Heās the wiriest of the lot of them! My money is on that ridiculously broad upper body. And by āmy money is on his upper body,ā I mean āI wish my hands were on his upper body.ā
I totally did not just say that.
Why was this photo taken from up in a tree? I think Ralph Morse had some serious problems with being on the ground. Heās always photographing things from really curious angles.
No one is embarrassed by Bill's mug!!
Hahaha gosh.
They're like
FOR CHRIST SAKE !!!!
They're like
FOR CHRIST SAKE !!!!
Put your sweet lips a little closer to the phone
Letās pretend that weāre together all alone
Iāll tell the man to turn the jukebox way down low
And you can tell your friend there with you heāll have to go
-āHeāll Have to Goā, Nat King ColeĀ
Hahaha guys
When you and the bae bond over judging someone elseās stupidity
I always look like the second photo of Frank...
Frank BormanĀ
@meco-officialĀ @frankborman
Charming Frank! (:

I'm crying.
It's too sad and ... We miss all of you, guys!
I miss you, Neil...
I canāt believe itās been fifty-five years since the greatest group of guys in the whole world were presented as the next American astronauts
