Just watched the Ahsoka trailer and I'm very nervous for Thrawnās character. Disney is very bad about making characters Good or Evil, when many of them are super complex.
Thrawn is a guy who did what he had to do to protect his people. He was trying to amass a following to take to the Chiss to help in a war they were struggling to win. He let himself be exiled for that. But because he worked for the Empire and made some overtly bad decisions in Rebels (never in the books, he was pissed when Pryce murdered a bunch of innocent civilians) they're going to turn him into an evil monster that Must Be Defeated.
Nevermind the fact that Ezra literally murdered everyone in Thrawn's entire fleet by space-whaling them.
iām laughing at how excited i am for a two second shot of the back of someoneās head
PLEASE!?
i know hes not gonna be there but what if...... eli vanto in ahsoka show......... what if just......... what if wh
have star wars writers (dave) considered that i dont want thrawn to be evil i want him to be complex. i want him to get into Shenanigans with ezra. i want him to go home and see eli & all of his girlboss friends. i want him to meet his sister. i donāt want him to be evil let sloane bring back the empire!! let her be the evil girlboss!!

Ahsoka trailer: name drops Heir to the Empire
Me: HEREāS HOW WE COULD STILL GET MARA JADE
HEIR TO THE EMPIRE GUYS THEY SAID IT THEY FUCKING SAID IT
When I tell you I started SCREAMING!!!
I started hearing whispers, about Thrawn's return. As HEIR TO THE EMPIRE.
Who wants to have a Star Wars marathon with me?
And I'm not talking just the movies
Not just the live action
Not just the ones we like
I mean a marathon, all of the movies, TV shows, live action and animated, all of it.
That means the Prequels, The Clone Wars, The Bad Batch, Solo, Kenobi, Andor, the Originals, The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Resistance, and the Sequels. Yes even Visions and Tales of the Jedi. And I have nothing against watching all of the shorts Blips, Forces of Destiny, and Grogu and Dust Bunnies. And yes, before you start to get comfortable even the "vintage" Star Wars Clone Wars, Ewoks, The Battle for Endor, The Faithful Wookie, Caravan of Courage, Droids. Holiday Specials! And to top it all off, we'll watch the Lego Star Wars š
It's awesome! And technically the Acendancy books show this to a degree (and they are Canon). I think the only reason that so many fans see him as cold and heartless is because unlike Vader and other main villains he doesn't have the "wife died, former gifted kid, son of the savior" points that make people feel for him. At least in the movies/TV shows. Also we don't see his POV, we only see from the people around him, and even in the Zahn books the imperial around him find him extreme meanwhile the Chiss are just like "aww he shot him."
I hope that this is the mindset that Thrawn continues to have in live action.
He may serve the Empire but he is still fiercely loyal to the Chiss people. I hope we see that.
Thrawn manspreads.
OKAY OkAy BUT a fanfic about cheri stealing a cedf ship after being enlisted and finding thrawn with Ezra and what's left of the Chimera and then Ezra teachers her to be a jedi and omg she gets conflicted about her idol thrawn because he's SO different. He like BIG BAD now. EZRA is talking mad crap saying how thrawn bombed lothal and totally let a guy EXPLODE. And Thrawns all like "but it's for the good of the Ascendancy che'ri. Empire lesser evil bleh blew bleh" and Che'ri is all like "dood wtf you literally saved a species from extinction. And Ar'alani definitely told me about that morse code shit that one time in the Greater Good Book) and she re- sensitzes thrawn (that's not even a word be like you know what I mean). OMG I should learn to be a story teller. God dayum im on a ROLL
Somebody with talent steal my ideas. Make them your own. Make them š«sparkleš«
Thrawn was raised by a single working mother. After Borika was taken to the skywalker corps he was essentially raised as an only child.
Moreover, Ba'kif is Thrawn's biological father, the product of a fairly scandalous youth.
More books about the ascendancy characters plz. I need to know that my faves arenāt dead
ziinda, about thrawn: do you trust him?
ar'alani: i absolutely trust him.
ziinda: so he is not some kind of mad man then?
ar'alani:
ar'alani: i absolutely trust him.
Thrawnās expression hardened, and for that single awful moment Qilori thought heād made the final mistake of his life. Ā Ā Ā Ā āLet me explain something, Qilori of Uandualon,ā the Chiss said softly. āMy jobāthe sole reason for my existenceāis to defend the Chiss Ascendancy and protect my people. I will do whatever is necessary to achieve that goal, and will allow nothing and no one to stand in my way. Do you understand?ā ā Thrawn: Ascendancy - Lesser Evil (2021) by Timothy Zahn
I really want a chiss tv series where we see thrawn and ezra in the chiss ascendancy between rebels and the ahsoka show and with flash backs styled like how the memories are in the thrawn books so we can get more of thrass (preferably in TCW/TBB animation style).
also just seeing arāalani and eli vanto again would complete my life :)
DISNEY MAKE IT HAPPEN OR ILL CRY
Thrawn: *does something unorthodox*

Thrawn: Ah, memories!
Some portraits I painted as Iām reading the Thrawn Ascendancy books. Hereās how my brain manifested their characters looking like. Thanks Tim Zahn for the minimal descriptions so my brain can run wild
Imagine Thrawn being cast into the Unknown Regions with Ezra
Imagine Thrawn being found and rescued by the Chiss
Imagine Thrawn being taken back to the Acendancy and his home
Don't imagine Thrawn being taken in front of the Syndicure
Don't imagine them debating whether he should be accepted back into their society or returned to exile
Don't imagine Ba'kif and Ar'alani standing to the side knowing there is nothing they can do
Don't imagine the Syndicure nearly ruling against him
Don't imagine Thrawn standing up and speaking for the first time against them
Don't imagine him shouting at them that he has given his life for the Acendancy
Don't imagine him telling them that though he was ruled by the Empire his actions were for the benefit of the Chiss
Don't imagine Mitth'raw'nuruodo losing his composure
Don't imagine him screaming at his Patriarch
Don't imagine him calling himself a servant of the Chiss
Don't imagine him saying "I only want to come home"
Don't imagine the Syndicure stripping him of his titles
Don't imagine them turning him over to the Mitth
Instead imagine him returning home to his family and being granted a place in the Expansionary Defence Force
AAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!
Thrawn: You would not hold up well under torture.
Samakro: Oh, and you would?
Thrawn: I did
Samakro:
A thought: Emperor Thrawn.
During Treason there is a scene where I believe it is Ar'alani is questioning Thrawn's loyalty and makes a comment about him taking over the Empire in Palpatine's stead.
Then in the Acendancy books, Patriarch Thooraki makes a comment about Thrawn being meant to lead something greater, maybe even the Acendancy.
This is all from memory so I'm probably wrong on the exact quotes, but it would scream worthy if Thrawn was the Emperor. I know logically, he would never because of his aversion to politics, but still...he would be so powerful.
I'm going to make a collage of all of the references that I can find.
It's in Treason! I just posted that particular scene. And I completely agree, Thrawn is the villain no doubt in my mind. But he's a villain in the way that we look back on war in our history and say that the opposing side was in the wrong. His ideals and methods may be villainous, but I wouldn't call him evil. He has reasons, he's a warrior.
I said it once and I'll say it again: Thrawn has a war to win and he doesn't have time to debate morality with himself.
I hope that this is the mindset that Thrawn continues to have in live action.
He may serve the Empire but he is still fiercely loyal to the Chiss people. I hope we see that.
Thrawn to Ar'alani, Thrawn: Treason
As it should be.
Instead of Anakin and his Jedi attachments going back in time,
It's post-Vader-Anakin and Vader's closest.
Anakin wakes up after dying and one of the unused droids/pieces of droid perks up and complains that all it's gun turrets are gone - The Executor.
The two of them get a transmitter working in hopes of anyone else who knows those as of yet non-existent comm codes will respond.
They get hits from:
~ Axxila (Firmus Piett - he's fine. He's fine. Everything's fine. It's fine)
~ Denon (Max Veers - his wife doesn't know him, his son doesn't exist)
~ Rentor (Thrawn, newly no longer Vurawn, does not know why the force dragged him into this but oh no he's the oldest, isn't he?)
~ Kamino (a very freaked out five year old Chelli Lona Aphra, newly decanted from "malfunctioning" Kamino tech that the Force coopted to grow her into existence nearly a decade early and a significantly less freaked out Boba Fett, squirming in his blankets and using a children's word sound toy to emphasize his displeasure with the situation ...also a very confused and alarmed Jango Fett who is pretty sure newborns aren't supposed to act like this and is very concerned about the daughter-shaped-thing a confused droid delivered to his rooms).
How is a nine year old slave supposed to respond to "what's the plan" when the plan is "turn on everything we worked toward and kill the emperor"? Or: that one where a former-murder-cyborg, his murder ship's AI, an admiral, a general, a double agent, a mad scientist, a crime lord, and a very confused bounty hunter make history. What could possibly go wrong?
When inviting him to dance, Thrawn would bow down deep and brush his lips against the back of Eli's hand, light and enticing, before pulling him into his arms.
While meeting as civilians, Thrawn would greet him in the way that gentlemen greet their ladies in some reaches of the galaxy, with a kiss to his hand and a utter of his given name.
While gazing out of the viewport on their warship, he would grasp his hand and raise it to his lips, while they stood side by side in silence.
Before a mission, while outfitted in black armor, a helmet underneath his arm, he would pull the human to where no prying eyes could see, and lift his gloved hand to his waiting lips as they stared into one another's eyes and whispered their promises.
In the heat of passion, Eli's hand coming to rest against his cheek, he would turn into it and press a kiss to his palm.
While they readied to leave the Admiral's cabin, he would press their bodies together cupping his face and connect their lips, hot and heavy distracting the man in front of him. Pressing him up against the wall, and biting down on his neck, listening to the strangled gasps that escaped him. He would pull away and lift his hand for a chaste kiss, a tease, before leaving the cabin and him a disgruntled mess.
Long after Eli Vanto has become Mitth'eli'vanto, he would raise his left hand to his lips and kiss the ring there on his fourth finger, a symbol not only of Eli's human culture but of Thrawn's love.
Thrawn would kiss Eli, his, hand.
And then Thrawn teaches him traditional Chiss courting dances.
Heās trying to teach him how to dance
