I'm actually very excited about Swiftpaw and Longtail being brothers! They always had a sort of 'brotherly bond' dynamic in my eyes, so it's nice to see that being added in for the graphic novel adaptation. It just feels right.
99% of my criticisms are not with the books, themselves, but rather, the fanbase. Which I feel is disproportionately filled with a loud, and angry majority who don't respect other people, and who take the books and their opinions on the books way too seriously.
i KNOW someone else out there sees the parallels between walt+jesse and tigerclaw+darkstripe. i am NOT crazy for this
reblogging my own post to tack on this "additional" commentary.
whenever questions of the worst wc character come up, i can't really understand the fact that darkstripe has genuine vitriolic haters that think he's one of the worst characters in the series. like obviously morality holds some stake in character preference, and i can also understand why people hate on him in a jokey way because canon keeps putting him in a position where he's easy to point and laugh at and he's given very little on-page sympathy or reasoning unlike other antagonists, but, like. darkstripe? he serves his narrative role well, he's got room for intrigue and headcanons, he can be at least funny or endearingly pathetic if you don't want to do that, and he's still not nearly the most morally reprehensible character in the series even though he tries to poison a child/potentially his little sister depending on how much parentage retcons you buy into, so like idk what you people even want from him
It's okay to say, "That's a retcon," or "That's a mistake," or "That's OOC," guys. You don't have to accept everything that's canon as canon just because it got printed.
Even if the cat's a background character with zero prior characterization, it hurts no one to be like, "No way would 'xyz' character do or say that".
Who cares honestly, what is canon or isn't canon. It's not like Erin Hunter is going to knock on your door if you don't care about the continuity of a 20 year old book series.
Guysss look what I did! 🥳 I made the Animal Crossing voice in UTAU!
I don't know what the fandom consensus is on popular Jayfeather and Lionblaze ships, but I really do like Jay x Cinder, and Lion x Pebble. (I don't really ship Hollyleaf with anyone.)
There's absolutely nothing wrong with John or Arthur being canon straight guys in a bromance. I'm totally cool with that.
But, as a fan of the series since like— season two I have always shipped them, lol.
OMG SO PRETTY. THANK YOOOOU!! ☺️❤️❤️
I've never read WoF, I have no idea why I'm here, anyway here's me as a dragon, lol. I think the snowy ones are called Icewings, so her name is Shard.
Her horns are sharp and shiny. She breathes ice breath and guards a secret door at the bottom of a dark cavern that has a lot of gold behind it.
