love is drugging your best friend so that he can’t go blow up his career and potentially get arrested by admitting to helping his patient kill himself.

(romance is catching his head before it hits the table)

love is presenting his conference paper yourself and pretending that scenario actually happened to you so that he still gets to say what he wanted to say but you take on the risk.

(romance is when he comes to, manages to find a pair of pants, and bursts into the room— and you meet his eyes)

love is saying to the room that that was the right decision and the person who made it did his best.

love is granting him the absolution he needs.

Having hilson thoughts.

Because it's real fuckin rich that Wilson is so critical of House and Stacy having an affair when Stacy is married given that we know Wilson has cheated on his wives multiple times and his whole "you'd be surprised what you can live with" speech to Cameron. Not to mention the part where he sleeps with and moves in with a patient. (He's such a terrible person and a hypocrite, I love him)

So my thought is that mayhaps at some point previously, and I'm going to posit that it's when Wilson is married to Julie, he tries to kiss House and ends up getting rebuffed with a comment from House that he's not gonna be another affair bc he may not respect marriage as an institution but he's not gonna fool around with someone who's married*

So it's just like. Bad Feels that oh, so it's not okay to fool around with someone who's married when it's him, but it's fine if it's Stacy.

I just think Wilson deserves to be the most tremendous hypocrite with motivations that are wholly selfish and self-centered.

* this being hilson thoughts, obviously the reason House turns Wilson down is because it's Wilson and he'd rather stay friends than risk losing him over a kiss or what he assumes would be a one night stand

Sorry but I'm obsessed with the agony and tragedy of them never being on the same page at the same time for over a decade and they both think everything that happens when they're living together in s6 is just convenience/unserious. They aren't on the same page until the very end so they've been circling each other for 15+ years and now they're staring down the barrel of having five months when they could have had so much longer.

they’re not in love but they live together. they’re not in love but one of them will ruin all of his marriages for the other. they’re not in love but one of them will undergo an invasive brain surgery so the other one isn’t mad. they’re not in love but one of them would rather die than have the other one hate him. they’re not in love but one of them would give the other the last of their pills. they’re not in love but they can never stay away from each other for too long. except maybe they are in love, but they knew their narrative was doomed the second it was written

we simply do not have enough fanart of ronan standing threateningly behind gansey while he monologues. gansey, oblivious in his excitement to teach. ronan, towering over him, an ominous dark cloud, making very direct and very uncomfortable eye contact with u, daring u to interrupt or make fun of gansey or say anything vaguely disapproving. he even drags his thumb across his throat. you know, to imply that he’ll slit ur throat if u do anything wrong. and gansey is talking about tree rings

In preparation for Mister Impossible I reread TRC. This came out of it. Enjoy, or not.

[This is not in any way critical towards Maggie’s occasional inconsistency. I‘ve got full sympathy for a messy mind and no patience for fans attacking her for it. It is what it is, I love this series just as much even with the knowledge that Gansey doesn’t know Adam’s birthday.]

noah quietly sliding from time to where the gangsey has no memory of him is very sad yes, but it’s also so cool in the narrative sense. trk is essentially about growing up. and part of growing up, tho it hurts to admit or think about, is forgetting about your childhood/highschool friends. noah czerny in a way represents that slowly slipping away adolescence. as time in the series goes on he is becoming less and less ‘noah’ in the same way that the gangseys youth is. noah staring to decay depicts how as your youth slips away you are seeing the world for what it really is, horrors and all, especially if at times it can seem beautiful. it can be beautiful. blue and her raven boys may not remember noah anymore. but they are still changed. they don’t know how, but there’s a feeling burning inside them that noah’s ‘life’ and absence has left.

So job thing is still a bust and while I do have my rent covered for the month, I lost my snap benefits and will need help covering the cost of the rest of my bills. I have the misfortune of living in the california bay area which means my cost of living is stupidly high.

I’m a lesbian with chronic pain and have a special needs dog (shes running out of her meds too 🫡), and while I’m willing to do physical labor, it’s difficult to find places that are willing to accommodate me. The area i live in has very high unemployment rates and finding a job has been extremely difficult so any help is seriously appreciated.

Venmo: thea-k

paypal: @/yahargul

Please please help if u can, even just reblogging. My gift to u is my freak dog

This minecraft short comic called "A strange Coast" made by Ian Flynn I believe, I found in a book from my library I work has to be one of the most beautiful and respectful takes on the game.

It understands minecradf so perfectly and doesn't treat it as childishly as the other stories in it did.

And all that within 10 pages and no word spoken.

This week:

A 19 year old passenger with her baby, who only spoke spanish, missed her connecting flight due to weather and would have been stuck sleeping in the airport but my co flight attendant (who spoke spanish) booked her commuter hotel for her and gave her a free room for the night

Another passenger missed her connecting flight home but since she lived just under an hour from me I gave her a ride from dc to virginia beach

My pilot was contacted by the wife of a pilot he'd flown with (who later killed himself) because she'd found a photo of their crew at dinner, so now he takes group photos of every crew he hangs out with, just in case

Another passenger missed her connecting flight and was crying because her mom was in hospice so 2 other passengers who did not know her offered to rent a car and carpool down to jacksonville together

An actor who I will not name but who I'm a huge fan of was in line at the airport pizza place in front of me and my co flight attendant (also a fan) and we were trying so hard to be cool about it and he could tell and he paid for our food because "You all take such good care of us in the air, we should take care of you on the ground."

The van driver for our new orleans overnight heard me say I was vegetarian but wished I could try authentic gumbo and called his friend who is a chef and then drove us to the restaurant where I was given a creole style vegetarian gumbo he'd improvised

After a terrible night which saw me and my co flight attendant trying for 4 hours to get hotel rooms from our airline, the night clerk at a hotel finally took over the phone call and reprimanded them on our behalf, dictating the exact paperwork she needed sent over and then expedited the process so she could give us rooms

So I’ve been listening to podcasts again and I wish someone had done this for me when I started out, so let’s sum up and describe some podcasts, shall we?

The Magnus Archives - Jonathan Sims, newly instated Head Archivist at the Magnus Institute, London, is trying to sort through statements of people that claim to have had all kinds of supernatural encounters, while only having a taperecorder to do so, because for some reason, the statements won’t let themselves be recorded on anything else. But I’m sure it’s nothing, right? Supernatural Horror at it’s finest, with incredible characters and worldbuilding. 200 episodes.

Welcome to Nightvale - An incredibly cryptic podcast, set in the fictional town of Nightvale, where all the conspiracy theories are true. Listen to Cecil Palmer, the host of Nightvale Community Radio talk about the happenings in the town, his day and that strange, beautiful new scientist that has come to town. Over 200 episodes, ongoing.

Wolf 359 - Communication Officer Doug Eiffels log of the USS Hepaestus’ journey, observing the red dwarf wolf 359. Twists and turns, some expected, some most definitely not, all in all a good time for all podcast fans. 61 episodes.

The Strorage Papers - Unsetteling horror stories, found in a storage lot, unraveling faster that a ball of yarn. Can you keep up? And, perhaps the more important question: Can you keep it together? Carefully crafted stories that make you lock your doors twice. 104 episodes, ongoing.

The Penumbra Podcast - The space noir tales of Private I, Detective Juno Steel and his adventures on planet mars. A podcast so mysterious and casually queer, it’s almost addictive. Although their phonecall noise sounds like my alarmclock, the sound design, characters, storytelling and worldbuilding are unlike anything I’ve ever come across. 4 seasons with about 20 episodes.

Camp Here and There - Camp Nurse Sidneys recordings of her daily announcements. If you’re a fan of Gravity Falls, this is that next summer you’ve been waiting for. 34 episodes for now, possibly ongoing, possibly not.

This is it for now, I’ll be adding on when I can. I hope this’ll help someone…       or not.

Your OPSEC is Bad and You Should Feel Bad

Okay so one of the many things that drives me absolutely nuts about most TV shows and (some) books that involve secret or classified information or secure facilities is how absolutely not secure everything is, so these are a few basic things that people get wrong:

You can't carry around classified information. There are, I assume, exceptions in specific cases, though they are assuredly very carefully managed, but random intel agent #12 cannot legally just take home classified information so they can work on it at home. That's incredibly illegal. And that's for a reason--secure facilities are, as the name suggests, secure. Everywhere else is varying levels of not secure. Even for people working with regular business or government materials on their work phone or laptop, there are varying levels of strict rules about where you can leave it, how to report a lost device, and not keeping it in checked bags.

Badges should be innocuous and limited in visible information. Any sensible security system doesn't have badges that are numbered/colored/otherwise identified by access level, because that is a really easy way to identify targets for thieves/people who want to break in. American federal ID cards (CAC for military, PIV for civilian) have really specific layouts. Some companies distinguish between full time employees, interns, vendors, etc in their cards.

Badges shouldn't be displayed outside of the office. This is not really followed by real people (if you get on the metro on DC you will see a wide variety of visible badges), but displaying a badge is not security-wise because 1) it makes them easier to steal, and 2) it can make you a target.

Names/access level/information shouldn't be openly announced. I'm looking at you, MCU Spider-Man fanfiction. Just. Don't.

Confidential/classified information shouldn't be openly discussed. Stop having your characters talk about confidential or classified information in front of people who shouldn't know it, or even just out in the open at all. They shouldn't be telling their parents, their friends, their spouses, etc. Even businesses or government buildings that deal with sensitive information, there may be spaces where certain things can or can't be discussed, and employees/contractors will go through approximately 8 million trainings on where you can't discuss certain information. This also involves erasing whiteboards, locking computers, etc.

You can't have cell phones in certain secure facilities. People shouldn't be having their cell phones with them in SCIFs. This prohibition extends to all things that can be recording devices, including furbies.

I was in line at Aldi and this girl with two toddlers in front of me had her card declined and she looked so fucking sad and said “let me call my husband real quick” and it was only 18 dollars, so I just paid for it, and she was very sweet and then as she walked off, the lady behind me said `”You know that was probably a scam, right?” and like, even if it was, like what a sad fucking scam, right? 18 dollars at the Aldi. If you’re “scamming” me for some Tyson chicken and apple juice and cauliflower, then just take my fucking money.

“A scam” people are fucking wild.
