Hot take: it isn't a Romeo and Juliet story if the conflict dividing their respective backgrounds is in any way largely consequential - the whole point of Romeo and Juliet is that their families' rivalry is petty. It's a lot less opposite sides of a war and a lot more opposite sides of a high school football rivalry. A lot less tribes competing for resources and a lot more their parents run competing local buissnesses. A lot less Colonizer/Victim and a lot more celebrities with agents who hate each other.
