when reminiscing on old tv shows we tend to go: "OMG do you remember that one episode where *hyper-specific weird fun thing happened*?? i LOVED that episode!!" "OMG me too!! but what about the episode where *they just go on little hijinks and it's so fun and silly*? that was my favorite one!" and sometimes you HAVEN'T seen the episodes they bring up because you never got to watch that episode because it never aired when you were watching

you can't do that anymore because everything is on streaming and not only do we get way less episodes that are jam-packed with action and important details, but everyone has seen everything because if you're watching a show, you're never missing or skipping an episode you're binging it and watching in order every time.

genuinely one of the worst things that’s happened to television in the last few years (exacerbated by streaming services) is death of Filler. going from 20 episodes to 8 because “we didn’t really need that episode where the main characters went to the beach right? it had no long lasting effect” but we DID!!! we needed to see how they act without the Big Bad Plot and to establish the dynamics between the characters and lay in the sun (do they forget sunscreen? how do they react to a thieving seagull? do they get buried in the sand or do they do the burying?). the plot isn’t everything. the action doesn’t hit as hard without the quiet moments. give us character development and our little scenes back

someone give me the motivation to read a book

i really wanna read solitaire (by alice oseman) or finish the percy jackson series so i can catch up with the newest olympian but also so i can get closer to learning more information about the riordanverse bc i have literally only have knowledge of the pjo series and nothing else 😭

There was a girl my dad was working with who just flat out refused to talk to adults or anyone at all and one day I was there and I saw her wearing a homemade bracelet that had beads that said YLDNDAHFHHACYCSYCDAYDKK and since I was also once a 14 year old making niche homemade mcr merch I was like "oh my god you like dnd Audrey Hepburn Fangoria Harry Houdini and croquet you cant swim you can't dance and you dont know karate!!!" and she looked at me like I'd said literal magic words and now we talk about music all the time

my favorite movie ever is tangled. i really want to watch tangled the series, but im scared it will change the way i see the movie due to the lore and events of the series. i love rapunzel, and her and eugene, so im worried that watching the series will change my thoughts/perception. but i know the show is super good and considering it's literally tangled im sure i will love it.
