You’re a whale in the pacific ocean, spending your anniversary with your mate. Whales do keep the same mate forever, and you’re very happy right where you are. You swim past the kelp and schools of fish and enjoy the way the sun’s light moves around the water. You’re nearing the coast of Washington, and you can hear the jingle of the whale tour boats above you. The attention doesn’t bother you or your mate, and you can hear the music the boat is playing. The voice of the singer is so inspiring, you join into the melody and sing your own love song. It may not be a broadway-worthy performance, but the happiness you feel makes it worthwhile. 

Hotel California by the Eagles except it’s playing through headphones that hand around your neck while you wait at an inner-city bus stop late at night in the rain. Throughout the song it seems that a pair of footsteps get louder and louder, and the dumpster in the alley next to you begins rumbling as though something is inside it, but something tells you not to turn around. Or else you might miss that bus.

Sky Full of Song by Florence and the machine except it’s playing in a large, empty cathedral that you’ve wandered into, and you can’t decide between running around or dancing freely or laying on your back in the middle aisle and staring at the ceiling in awe of this rare moment.
