Here's some info:

This takes place in the Path To Freedom universe but it's a flashback story of Fyodor's past prior to the events of the original comic. Also, the format is a bit different since this time it will be heavily narrator based and not dialogue, so there will be more text than in The Path To Freedom but this overall project is shorter than the comic.

I know I said I will make explanation sheets for The Path To Freedom, but I realised it was hard to do without spoiling major points from this backstory, so I decided to start posting this project first xD Enjoy!

This is Golden Mentality (GM). She is an incredibly old model of iterator created nearby the inception of the idea, by no means the first, but old enough to the point customs and regulations used towards them by Ancients were not widespread. Thus the classic robe/poncho given to most iterators was not in full use! Instead Golden Mentality was wrapped in bandages and patterns alike that of Ancients themselves

I don't have alot of information on her, she's one of the ones I've worked on less.. but at least her design is cool, right? Well either way she's incredibly stubborn, standoff-ish, and craves to go back to the old days. By incident she has latched herself onto Total Eclipsing Sky, supposedly the two of them being "friends"; despite the constant arguing, GM finds a bit of comfort in someone who is equally as stuck "being a god" as she is

Ymir kept seeking for that purpose, all while she was living her life for others. She realized it was pointless once it led her to an “endless nightmare” as a pure titan. Basically equal to death, if not worse. Upon her faith, she encountered 4 honorary Marleyans in her pure titan form, who we know as Reiner, Bertholdt, Annie and Marcel. When she ate Marcel, Ymir got a second chance in life and she made a promise to herself, to live for none other than herself this time around. But in the end, she was to selfless to do so. She broke her own promise, which she realized. “I have no regrets” but she had one, not being able to marry Historia. Her character was selfless, which she struggled with and denied in the eyes of the people. She felt she owed the life she involuntary took from Marcel, resulting in her making a choice to save Reiner and Bertholdt by returning back the life she “stole”. She knew she didn’t have to, but she couldn’t refuse. Ymir laughed about it, let out a few tears. Is a human worthy of a second chance in life? She lived hers without regret, and she was loved by one, that was enough for her. in the end her character comes full circle with making a choice for the sake of others again, but with the realization that it’s not a mistake. It’s simply who she is. Which is why this time it was done without regrets. “If i Ymir, reject the person i was born as, it’s as good as losing.”

I wanted to add that her dialogue surrounding her arc were so perfectly done. She didn’t complain, she was conscious of her actions. She didn’t explain anything to anyone, her truth was with herself. Didn’t matter if the world thought of her as a selfless one. Which is what she tried teaching Historia, Sasha. She was harsh, but she was truthful. “Do You Always Want To Live Hiding Behind The Mask You Put Up For The Sake Of Others? You're You, And There's Nothing Wrong With That."-Ymir

Eren and Mikasa’s Anti-Love Story

The manga of Attack on Titan begins and ends with Eren and Mikasa’s relationship. This is because the story’s themes are built on the complicated relationship between these two characters. The various complications, miscommunications and struggles for the both of them to grow up and change, is also a metaphor at large for the world to change. This is a pretty common storytelling technique, for example Katherine and Heathcliff is also about the inconquerable social divide between the classes. I am also going to use Katherine and Heathcliff as my go to example to try to elaborate why a story would spend so much time focusing on an unhealthy relationship, where neither character develops. 

No I don’t think the author took inspiration from Wuthering Heights, however comparing two literature pieces with similiar ideas at their core can help highlight some of the ideas inherent in the text. With that out of the way, let’s begin, the central conflict of the story is also the conflict between Eren and Mikasa’s love for each other, and that’s why the central theme of the story is “This cruel yet beautiful world” which is the words Mikasa uses when she’s trying to process her conflicting memories of Eren.
