so ive been playing a lot of baldur's gate 3 recently and after i finish my current playthrough im gonna do a dark urge run but have my tav be Matt Motherfucking Engarde. and I do actually have strong opinions about his class.

wild magic sorcerer . ! because he's definitely a charisma based class and I like to think about how his life might have been affected by the chaos that only wild magic can induce. And I've thought about maybe warlock before but I think it's very important for Matt to be like. The source of his own power, y'know? In line with his acting talent being the thing that got him where he was, like, he was a Child and he was working his ass off, it was not the result of some deity/being of some kind like "hey want some power??"

Maybe there's something with his backstory like . Something really terrible happens, maybe due to a wild magic effect (scar related? possibly? like that's how he gets his eye scar??) and he swears off using magic for a while but misses the feeling of being able to do great things and in this period of confusion is when he gets approached by some devil (he would be pact of the fiend, fight me) of some kind like "I heard you've been wanting power again?" and that's the kick in the ass that Matt needs to have this resurgence of faith in himself and his natural ability.

He's a performer/entertainer but I don't think he's bard coded y'know? Especially in fantasy land. And Paladin is the only other charisma class and um. No . That's just not him. I could see him maybe taking a few levels in rogue for sneak attack and cunning action type stuff but at his heart he's a magic user, it's intrinsically tied to who he is.

I also think he's either a human or a half-elf (high elf, sun flavor).

I truly love how morally grey Hajime is.

Like in the beginning of the game, everyone’s talking and they’re all saying stuff like “we would never kill a friend to get off this island”

Meanwhile Hajime’s off on the side like “damn. I actually really wanna get off this island”

This happens multiple times, too: Imposter was like “I wont stand for anyone killing each other.”

And Hajime’s internal dialogue is just “I could and might do it”

Man considers murder so many times throughout the game and I am living for it

see 0 note flop posts aren't that bad when they're personal but 0 note fandom posts feel literally so bad. like if you don't wanna play toys with me anymore just say that. i'll pack up my super cool awesome things and go and i'll sit on the other side of the playground by myself and i won't even look at you. fuck

obsessed with engarde dropping his benign idiot persona to reveal that he’s evil and your immediate assumption being ‘oh he was pretending to be stupid as part of his persona he’s actually smart’ and then the game wasting no time at all in saying no he’s still incredibly stupid he’s just also evil

I like to think that after the comic ends, jack and kent make an effort to sit down like adults and talk their history through and apologise to each other. and maybe afterwards they strike up a tentative friendship, especially after jack receives a little package for his birthday containing a pair of bi pride shoelace locks for his running shoes. jack is delighted (bitty is both a little touched and a little furious because somehow the fluorescent neon yellow sneakers are even more of an optical assault when mixed with pink and purple)

and maybe later, kent receives a belated birthday present in the form of a snapback with a rainbow floral pattern, and maybe he doesn’t feel comfortable wearing it in public just yet but it still makes him smile every time he sees it

When the only crimes you committed to end your career before it even started were you being a team player who genuinely loved your teammates and being a good guy and ran after a flight risk ,who dove headfirst into what normal people would assumed was a trap straight out of a horror movie, to make sure he was okay.
