Let's cut to the chase. The United Arab Emirates has been arming the Rapid Support Forces RSF in its deadly conflict with the Sudanese Armed Forces SAF). Sudan has vast resources, and the UAEs motivation for their foreign interference is arguably as simple as wanting to guarantee its
access to Sudanese land, seaports, and
mineral and agricultural resources, including livestock and crops. Looting, land grabs, colonization, imperialism... call it whatever you want. It's happening because the UAE has the cover of impunity from the world. Via praxis_archives

$2.3 billion. That's the value of the precious metals that the UAE imported from Sudan in 2022, officially. This isn't new either: the UN estimates that $4.6 billion worth of gold was smuggled to the UAE from Sudan between 2010-14. They also receive much of the 80% of gold smuggled from Sudan. via praxis archives

According to United Nations investigators, the
UAE has supplied weapons disguised as
humanitarian aid intended to help Sudanese
people sheltering in eastern Chad. The UAE has been exploiting shipping networks in neighouring countries to supply the RSF with arms and
ammunitions to fight their counterrevolutionary war against the Sudanese people. via praxis archives

Although Abu Dhabi denies doing so, there is ample evidence that the UAE has been supplying weapons and ammunition to the RSF. Before the conflict erupted. Dubai was already a key destination for the RSF's gold smuggling, providing financial lifelines to the militia. There are also reports of the UAE covertly providing weapons to the RSF under the guise of humanitarian aid, as well as UAE-manufactured armored vehicles outfitted with French-designed defense systems. The Colombian passport is evidence of international mercenaries' deployment, a hallmark of UAE operations in other regional conflicts. The UAE's support-combined with its investments in mining and agriculture
-signals a calculated bid to shape Sudan's political and economic trajectory. This interventionist strategy mirrors those employed by the UAE in Ethiopia's Tigray conflict and in Libya. where Abu Dhabi expanded its influence through military aid and economic ventures. Via praxis_archives

The UAE controls several land and farm operations in Sudan. International Holding Company (IHC),
the UAE'S largest listed corporation, and Jenaan Investment are farming more than 50,000 hectares in Sudan. Abu Hamad's farming project covers another 162,000 hectares of cultivated land. Via praxis_archives

UK government officials attempted to suppress criticism of the United Arab Emirates and its alleged role in supplying arms to a notorious militia waging a campaign of ethnic cleansing in Sudan, sources have told the Guardian.
Claims that Foreign Office officials put pressure on African diplomats to avoid criticising the UAE over its alleged military support for Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF) will intensify scrutiny of the UK's relationship with the Gulf state. Via praxis_archives

Thousands are dying. Millions are displaced. Millions are starving. The UAE is fueling and prolonging a counterrevolutionary war to gain power and control in Sudan. It is stripping the land of its resources while indigenous Sudanese cannot
access or afford food while living upon lands that are some of the most fertile on the continent.
The Emirates are are far from being the only nationstate involved. Others include Russia, Egypt, Turkey, and Iran However, no one has benefited as much as the UAE and no one is invested as much into the conflict. It's time to seriously start reflecting on why boycotting the UAE has been so overlooked and sidelined.

For decades, and particularly since April 16th, 2023 - Sudan has been subjected to covert and illicit foreign interference that has defied the civilian popular liberation movement. There are two major internal factions fighting for control of the country: the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The oversimplified summary is that these two groups had aligned counterrevolutionary interests until about 2021, and since then have become enemies. As Sudanese people suffer some of the most henious war crimes from both sides, the ongoing crisis has become an opportunity for foreign entities to capitalize on this suffering.
While there are many foreign powers hedging their hold of economic power, the UAE is chief among them. Their investment into the RSF is an attempt to assert financial and military dominance within a country that is abundant in resources. The UAE has long benefited from the theft and resource extraction from Sudan, and there have been many calls to boycott them - but they have largely been ignored.
The point of this post is not to provide an in-depth geopolitical and cultural history of Sudan vis-a-vis the UAE.
No social media post will ever do that, you need to do your only research.
The goal here is to push you to actually care, to spend some of your own time to learn, and honestly accept how our advocacy for Sudanese people has been materially nonexistent. Today they face the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, where millions are impacted.
Criticism of the United Arab Emirates has been a taboo subject, but we need to address their complicity. Via praxis_archived

Mohiy's ( @mohiy-gaza ) mother suffers from chronic hypertension and she needs daily blood pressure medication that the family cannot afford. Her health has worsened due to the lack of medication and today Mohiy told me she lost consciousness and had to be taken to the hospital.

She has since regained consciousness and is doing a little better, but she still needs her medication or her health will continue to decline. You can donate to Mohiy's fundraiser to help them afford medication and necessities for the family. His sister, Wafaa ( @wafaaresh ), has a campagin set up to help afford evacuation as well.
