All right, I'm not stupid. You're saying humans need ... fantasies to make life bearable.
No. Humans need fantasy to be human. To be the place where the falling angel meet the rising ape.
Tooth fairies? Hogfathers?
Yes. As practice. You have to start out learning to believe the little lies.
So we can believe the big ones?
Yes. Justice. Duty. Mercy. That sort of thing.
They're not the same at all!
Really? Then take the universe and grind it down to the finest powder and sieve it through the finest sieve and then show me one atom of justice, one molecule of mercy. And yet you act, like there was some sort of rightness in the universe by which it may be judged
Yes. But people have got to believe that or what's the point?
My point exactly.
words cannot express just how much I enjoyed FMA Brotherhood

Not even a hurricane can turn away the sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
Every single day since April 1948 without fail, there’s been a sentinel guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. And Hurricane Irene was no excuse to call in sick yesterday.

Can't fault the dedication to duty there, I'm very impressed

when did you start playing minecraft?
October 2010 - back when Minecraft was only 10 euroes
how did you find out about minecraft?
Mostly through Owlet (a friend of mine) and after I watched a video he put up on youtube I knew I had to give it a go...
what was the first thing you built on singleplayer/multiplayer?
I built a castle on singleplayer - I've only recently starting playing smp and I don't tend to do so very often
what is your in game name/username in minecraft?

what was the biggest thing you ever built?
I'm currently in the process of building a huge trading post which will easily be the biggest thing I've ever built

I have no real idea... whatever strikes me next I guess...
what do you mainly build in minecraft? (for example: treehouses, minecart systems, etc.)
I couldn't say I build one thing more than any other, I guess if pressed I'd say bases, a variety of them...
which do you do that most: explore, kill mobs, or mine?
I build mostly really, though I do enjoy sperlunking trips... except when I run out of torches
last thing you built involving redstone?
I use redstone a lot, though I do tend to cheat because I use Ali4z's Wireless Redstone along with Feanorith's Redstone Advanced - last big thing I built with redstone was a gate system (several times) for my trading post
favourite ore and why?
I like diamonds the most - mainly because there's the whole adventure of trying to find them
least favourite ore and why?
hmm I suppose Gold is my least favourite ore, it doesn't seem to be anywhere near as useful as the others

recently I've started going into the nether more and more - since Better Than Wolves gave Netherrack a host of uses, I've more reason to go there
what mods do you enjoy using?
Better Than Wolves is my favourite, though I tend to use an absolute ton - I think my current homebrew modpack involved something like 25 mods - I won't list them all here but if anyone wants to know they can drop me an ask
favourite texture pack?
I tend to switch through several - I like the stylings of the painterly pack but I also love Carlotta4th's Modified Portal textures - I plan to make my own at some point, but that may have to wait.

I'm not sure if they count as commentators but I follow the yogscast quite closely - I'm definitely a yognought though I also follow Etho
what are you looking forward to the most in the 1.8 update?
I suppose it would have to be the added depth to the game that notch puts into most updates, I'm glad to see the game expanding
what are your thoughts on minecraft being available on the xbox?
I think it should be good, not sure exactly how it'll work (and I daresay I won't buy it myself) but I'm glad that minecraft is getting the attention and expansion it deserves
sum up minecraft in a five-worded sentence.
"get excited and make shit"

This is really amazing.
That really is lovely. I have to say though I was paranoid there’d be a screamer. There wasn’t and I was very happy. I also read it in my head in GlaDOS’s voice automatically :S
That was amazing... I read it in GLaDOS' voice too Nikili
A lion decides he’s had enough of being photographed - and tries to steal a photographer’s camera. The lion and his pride had been followed by a film crew in Okavango Delta, Botswana, for days - and obviously decided it was time to have his turn behind the camera. The lion broke away from the pride and ran up to the camera before trying to drag the camera and tripod away. The photo was taken by British photographer and tour guide John Sobey, who runs horseback safaris for photographers throughout Botswana. He said: “He had a good look down the lens and we watched, amazed. It was only when he decided to try and bite them camera that the film crew got worried, and shouted at the lion, scaring him away.”

genuinely awesome...
What a fucking stupid comparison.
While Apple are busy mugging gullible hipsters for their cash, the US Govt are trying to pick up the pieces of what the previous administration left behind. W spent 5 trillion dollars he didn't have on pursuing his various policies and Obama has had to spend 1.4 trillion on repairing the damage, given that the world is in recession and yet idiots with more money than sense are still throwing their cash at Apple, what a fucking surprise.
I really do feel sorry for Obama, if he wasn't picking up W's left behind crap, and wasn't having to cope with a hostile house, he could be doing so much good for the US - but hey, people never want things that are good for them, right?
How to hypnotise a kitty in two easy steps...
Aren't those eyes amazing though?
Such an awesome cosplay, inspiration for the expo next year perhaps?

While I respect the democratic rights of every person who voted against AV in the recent referendum, I have to wonder what the hell they were thinking. The Government said "Would you like a better chance of the people YOU want being elected to office?" and overwhelmingly the populous shouted "No thanks, we'd rather just get shat on".
With AV a party only needs 30% of the vote to get elected, so that means that 70% of the electorate can vote against someone, yet they still get in? how is this really democracy?
Honestly? We had the chance to turn democracy from "the opportunity to vote for the candidate you dislike least" into an actual choice and yet people turned it down, what the hell?
Admittedly, AV is slightly more complicated than FPTP's "Hurr Durr I puts my X in this little box thing and then I walks away" but it would have meant that we'd actually get the people we voted for rather than the people we voted for instead because you have to vote tactically or otherwise your vote doesn't count.
Granted, FPTP got us where we are to day, but then turn over that statement for a few seconds and then look where we are today, is this really such a good thing?
I've heard it mentioned (as a serious anti AV argument) that "AV means that the second choices of the BNP supporters will get considered too" Well so what? they're still human, twisted perhaps but they live in the same democracy we do, perhaps AV would have given them the opportunity to vote for a more grown up second choice that would have actually made a difference.
All in all, I am actually disappointed in this country, we had a golden opportunity to change things but the whole campaign was a total farce - the anti AV argument was based entirely on lies and the yes campaign was so whimsical that it's not really a surprise that nothing has changed.
Bad country, back in your box.

In Other News:
I've been levelling my Paladin (Lysandre) on WoW recently with Amanda, we've just started doing the Blasted Lands quests after stomping our way through Dustwallow Marsh, Tanaris, Ungoro Crater and the Swamp of Sorrows - With another few hours worth of questing I reckon we'll be in Outlands stomping yet more faces on our way to level 70. Working with another Paladin has been fantastic for levelling - we've not yet found anything we've struggled to kill together and it has impressed me just how competent Amanda has become with her class - she was more than capable of delivering the punishment on multiple opponents when a bug meant that my character was unable to provide any kind of useful support until I logged out and back in again.
Apparently it's the Royal Wedding tomorrow though I've yet to figure out if I actually care... Probably not come to think of it, though at least it's a nice excuse for a bank holiday - not gonna complain on that front.

I don't drink Tea and I very rarely drink Coffee, but when I do it has to be black, very strong and with three or four sugars (depending on how strong the coffee ends up)
