As much as I love Penumbra and seeing her be all eco-friendly, I really wanna see her be a villain. HOWEVER....she's not a good one, at least not in a traditional sense. Most villains would use insane methods like torture to get their enemies to talk, while Penumbra literally just has an easy-going talk with a hero over tea. And they so easily open up to her because she's just so nice.

Villains will brainwash their victims to join their side. Eh, she'll just invite them over to her house, play a few games, have some laughs, and oh god dangit, they can't hurt her! She's a bean! They gotta protect her now!

Villains will send spies or try to integrate themselves through very challenging ways. Penumbra just comes over to ask for a cup of sugar and they pretty much take her throughout their hideout to give her that cup.

She would be the most successful villain simply because....she's actually trying to be likeable and she's passive.

BH: Because they’re always cooking said kids in cauldrons and ovens - aka long cooking times at lowish heat. If you do that to fatty meat, the fat melts completely and the meat gets tear-it-apart-with-a-fork soft, If you do it to lean meat, you get tiny little sad meat bits that bring no joy to anyone.

Dem: Well you did ask.

BH: Also there’s wisdom in fattening them up on sweets and other carbs. A meatless, carb-rich diet makes for more tender and flavourful meat.

Flug: You are arguing over the semantics of EATING CHILDREN.

Dem: Well yeah, you gotta get this shit right or it’s a waste of 40-80 lbs. of meat.

BH: Plus if you feed them a high fat, low nutrition diet, they’re easier to subdue and less likely to run away, which would be a concern for an elderly crone.

There has been difficulties to play the game in different countries (even México), but for some reason, it can be play in Colombia. So here it is what I have so far. The controls are difficult (I miss the keyboard) but the game is fun as always.

VILLAINOUS CONFERENCE IN COLOMBIA 4.0 (7th of November)

Alan Ituriel, the creator of Villainous, went to a conference in Colombia today! He talked about animation, Villainous, its evolution and he gave tips about how to start your business in the animation industry, as well as an amazing motivational speech. He’s a wonderful person and a sweetheart, I swear. He also thanked the fans a lot for liking Villainous, and even showed some fan creations and cosplays, and talked about how he never expected his show to be successful outside of latam.

He talked about the importance of making your characters alive, allowing the audience to connect with them and feel their emotions and relate to them, and also about making the audience feel like they’re in the same world as the characters. He does this with Penumbra’s instagram and the secret websites, making us feel like they’re all real. Imo, this is what makes this show so amazing. Alan really knows how to make his characters and story likeable and attractive. He puts the story as the most important thing in a show, above animation, and I really appreciate this. It shows that Villainous has a very promising future. He’s tried to show us the very extensive lore through numerous ways, even in the 1 minute shorts. He said that all of the backgrounds are supervised by him, and everything on them is put there on purpose, to tell us the story in a different way other than yknow, the characters speaking.

He also talks about the importance of the voice actors. ‘Jefecito chulo’, aka Flug’s most iconic nickname for Black Hat, was not in the script. Flug’s most peculiar characteristics are not in the script, it’s all his VA. That’s how important they are. They give an extra layer of attributes to the character.

The last photo shows how much the project has changed over the years, as well as the others showing how the characters evolved. He animated both of those scenes. He linked this speech with the motivational one, telling how being good at something is about practice and practice, and to never let anyone drag you down, because even your closest friends can turn on you. You must be strong. You are the only one that matters in the end. ‘If I could do it, you can.’ ‘Even if everyone dislikes what you’re doing, keep going forward and show it, because someone out there has to like it. Even if it’s just one person.’ He is entirely self-taught. His family has no animators, or people in the TV industry. He did it all on his own, with perseverance and hard work.

His story is very inspiring, I have MAD respect for him and his show, and I’ll support him til the very end.

When Black Hat watches horror movies, instead of, like most people, yelling at the stupid protagonists for getting themselves killed, he judges all the cliche horror tropes and constantly comments on the antagonist's actions, saying they should've done this and that but noooo they're too dumb for that aren't they? Of course they are, these movies were made by civilians, not real villains!

And that is why he wasn’t invited to Flug, Dem & 505′s movie night in that one official comic
