This is a story that has been knocking around in my head for quite a long time, and it’s going to be a very dark story. It will include domestic violence, murder, suicide, alcoholism, drug addiction, child neglect, child abuse, as well as heavy references to sexual abuse. (However, there will not be any scenes in which sexual abuse occurs apart from one scene in which a groping happens briefly; there will only be mentions of the abuse before or after the fact or during a character’s spoken word narrative. I do not write non-con under any circumstances.)

Each chapter will have content warnings at the top of the fic and will be tagged liberally. A deep voice sounded out to Holly’s right, making her jump out of her seat a little. She turned, startled, and saw an orc, far larger than her but not nearly as big as others she’d seen, carrying a stack of books separated into two distinct piles.

“I’d like to return these, check these three out, and purchase this one, if I could,” He said in a pleasant tone. Unlike most orcs she knew, his hair wasn’t long and braided, but cut shortish around his shoulders and had a medium curl to it. It was also dyed royal blue and had at least half an inch of brown roots showing where it parted in the middle.

“This place has great cheesecake,” Holly said. “I’ve only been here a few times with Sarah, but I always get it.”

“I’m buying, so get whatever you want. Get some cheesecake. Hell, get two,” Ravadhi said with a smile.

“No, no, a sandwich is fine,” Holly insisted.

One of the first things Jaskier realized after discovering his immortality was that not being able to die doesn't mean he can't feel pain.

If Jaskier were to be poisoned, he'd still get sick until it passed through his system or until Geralt found a cure. A stab wound might not kill him, but he would still suffer from dizziness due to blood loss. Some days, like when Geralt left him on the mountain, Jaskier loathed his immortality.

Being captured and tortured by Rience was a terrifying experience for Jaskier, knowing the pain would never truly end.

Now, back at Kaer Morhen after the ordeal with the demon possessing Ciri, Jaskier is injured but doesn't see the point in telling anyone.

After all, it's only pain—not like he can die.

In almost a week of relentless violence, Palestinian authorities had already recorded 20 families completely wiped out from civil registry, meaning all living members of that family, of all generations, had been killed.
