đ (For ask game:))
Ty for the ask anon ^^
Gosh itâs a hard question because I love so many characters and they all have some horrible misinterpretations.
But for this I think Iâll go with Ron, as I rlly love this boy
Alright so letâs first get over some things ppl like to say about Ron or write Ron as being like ( all of these are horrible and just bashing ):
- Ron being abusive towards his partner and friends
- Ron written as very unattractive, being fat and nasty
- Ron written as a cheater
- Ron written as dumb, unintelligent, illogical
- Ron being shunned back from the trio and replaced by another character ( Neville/Luna/Ginny ) bc they are better friends
I hate all of those takes, Ron doesnât deserve this treatment by the fandom TwT
So letâs establish some facts now
Ronâs magical abilities are on the same level as Harryâs with the only exception being Defense against the dark arts.
However he does have his own abilities that heâs good at. Ronâs an outstanding chess player, he wins with almost everyone, even with Hermione which really frustrates her
Heâs a pretty good keeper (unfortunately, due to stage fright, it is difficult for him to show his best side when playing in front of a large audience)
Ron could drive a car at the age of 12. This is an extremely amazing achievement considering that even adults often have trouble operating the vehicle, and Ron was able to fly it all the way to Hogwarts. This means that within a dozen or so hours, Ron drove a car and flew from England, London to Scotland, without using a map and only following the tracks he saw beneath him. It is also important to remember that the car had additional functions as Arthur Wesley magically improved the vehicle, meaning it was even more complicated to operate than a standard car.
Now here's something you may not have noticed, although it's partly just me looking deeper but a lot of things points to Ron having some future-predicting power within him. Why do I think so? Especially since no one, not even Ron himself, seemed to think so?
The answer, of course, lies in the books. Just look at those quotes :>
1. Ron predicted Harry's getting unexpected cash and more
In the third book: Prisoner of Azkaban, during the first lesson - making predictions with tea leaves - Ron was examining the leaves in his friend's cup.
"(...) "There's a blob a bit like a bowler hat," he said. "Maybe you're going to work for the Ministry of MagicâŠâ He turned the teacup the other way up.
"But this way it looks more like an acorn... What's that?" He scanned his copy of Unfogging the Future. âA windfall, unexpected gold.â (âŠ)
- H.P. and the Prisoner of Azkaban
As we know, Harry became an Auror after the end of the Wizarding War. So, as expected, he works for the Ministry. But what's the deal with cash? A Well, for example, unexpected gold for Harry was the prize for winning the Triwizard Tournament - 1,000 galleons, which amounts to about 5,000. GPB or 28,000. PLN. Thatâs a lot right?
Another unexpected influx of money was Harry receiving Sirius's estate after his death. Because how could he expect that his godfather would end his life?
2. He predicted that Voldemort killed Moaning Myrtle
âI wish I knew why someone did try to chuck it,' said Harry. 'I wouldn't mind knowing how Riddle got an award for special services to Hogwarts, either.'
'Could've been anything,' said Ron. 'Maybe he got thirty O.W.Ls or saved a teacher from the giant squid. Maybe he murdered Myrtle, that would've done everyone a favour..?â
- H.P. and the Chamber of Secrets
3.He also predicted their argument during GOF and along with Harry most of what would happen in the book
â(âŠ) Why don't you get stabbed in the back by someone you thought was a friend?"
"Yeah... cool.." said Harry, scribbling it down, "because Venus is in the twelfth house."
- H.P. and the Goblet of Fire
Ron was very brave.
Despite his fear of spiders, went with Harry into the forbidden forest, that most of the school avoided, following a spider trail. We know well that this situation ended with a meeting with Aragog, but despite his obvious fear, Ron waited for Harry to finish asking Aragog questions.
He also went with Harry straight to the Chamber of Secrets, knowing full well that the Basilisk was there. One of the most dangerous creatures in the entire wizarding world.
He overcame his fears in order to help his friend.
Ron was very loyal. Yes, they had arguments, but all of the trio had, Hermione abandoned the boys a few times too, but thatâs how life works, friends sometimes argue and donât agree with each other but what makes them a good friend is that they apologize and always come back. Harry appreciated him very much for this, after all, Ron was the person Harry missed the most and whom he had to save during the 2nd task of the Triwizard Tournament.
Ron also has an absolutely amazing sense of humor, here are some of the funniest things he said that I quoted:
GOF
OOTP
All in all, I love Ron, heâs an amazing character and I hate how much heâs mischaracterized and brushed aside or bashed he is.
So let me get this straight:
You're okay with your children watching murder scenes or worse things in media, but when two boys/two girls kiss is suddenly too much for you.
Do you realize how horrible does that sound?
You prefer your children watching something ilegal and immoral (like yk, killing someone) over letting them watch two persons showing that love has no gender.
Very logical.
Very very logical.
And not inhuman at all.

I know people looooove to insinuate that Zoro doesnât like Usopp because of Water 7, but I am coming to Zoroâs defense on this (not how you think!). Usopp and Luffy were both acting and reacting based on very heightened emotions. Usopp was utilizing a very common tacticâ hurt before you get hurt. Not his best moment, but I think itâs understandable under the circumstances. Luffy, because heâs stubborn and also a little bratty, then countered with a classic baby brother tacticâ when they go low, you go lower. The problem with this is that they arenât just playing in the backyard. People have left their homes and families to follow Luffy. Theyâre fugitives. The government wants them dead. In normal circumstances, theyâd fight and ignore each other and make up. But they canât do that in this situation because itâs not a game. Zoro was trying to get the two of them to see that. Luffy may be silly. He may be lighthearted and carefree, but he is the captain on their very real pirate crew. There is no time for petty strife. If you quit, you have to mean it. If you remove someone, you also have to mean it. By the time their fight comes around, both Luffy and Usopp already regret their choices and want to just move on, but Zoro forces BOTH of them to face this discomfort and play through it so that they both understand the weight of their choices.
THAT BEING SAID!!!!!!!!! Itâs not like Zoro was like âand FUCK that Longnoseâ⊠he was the first one of the Romance Dawn trio to ask Usopp to join them. He knows Usoppâs got a big heart. He knows what Usopp brings to the table, even if Usopp doesnât. He was LIVID when he saw what Franky had done to Usopp!!! But heâs also been around. Heâs a famous bounty hunter. For quite a while he was the most famous person on the crew. Heâs probably seen tons of crews and watched their dynamics and understands that hierarchy exists for a reason. If youâre following someone without conviction, youâre risking your life every day for someone who canât stand on his own morals. They canât afford to do that. And it seems like in these âZoro Hates Usoppâ arguments, they very often leave out the fact that Zoro told Luffy that if he didnât stand by his choices, heâd leave the crew, too. He was just telling them to stand on the business theyâd put out into the world, which I think is a perfectly fair stance to have. We all know that Zoro takes the words he says and the words others say very seriously. This is an extension of that. But it doesnât mean he hates Usopp or Luffy. He just recognized that if theyâre all allowed to hop on and off the crew, and if theyâre not able to articulate their feelings without being mutinous, they were doomed to fail.
(Iâm going to pause here to acknowledge that Zoro treated Sogeking in the same way that heâs always treated Usopp. They cut up together and he still takes care of him in his own weird way and he trusts him as a crew member. Think about how he treated Robin when he wasnât sure about her. He didnât do that here!! It was like âold timesâ. He still viewed him as a member of the crew.)
And THEN!! AND THEN!!!!! When Sanji tells everyone that he overheard Usoppâs rehearsals and that he intends to come back to the crew, Zoro still says that Usopp needs to apologize to their captain. Because heâs. You know. The captain. Mutiny is a serious action. You canât just not acknowledge it. It needs to be faced. And Zoro is all hardass about it like âif the first thing he says isnât an apology weâre leaving himâ and then what does he do? He pretends he canât hear him not apologizing. Usopp goes on for a while, and he pretends he canât hear anything. And then as soon as Usopp apologizes, he smiles!!! Because he knows it means Usopp is coming home!!!!!!
And I know. I can already hear it. âWell, why didnât he just not insist on that stuff???â Because the crew needed to figure out that behaving that way had the potential to cost them in ways that are uncomfortable! Yes, we donât see Luffy doing the same. But I think itâs important to note that they are a crew and thereâs essentially only one actual assigned role and thatâs Luffyâs role as captain. Even if his decision is stupid they need to follow it. Thatâs the choice theyâve made. And they can be kind of loosey goosey in every regard except that one. Because if his final say means nothing, that could have catastrophic consequences for everyone. Plus, as readers, we get to see Luffyâs discomfort and remorse plenty. He weeps and tells Zoro that accepting the duel is hard and he hates it and Zoro basically tells him he has to lie in the bed heâs made for himself or he isnât fit to be captain. And Luffy clearly felt very uncomfortable with the fact that his knee jerk reaction may have cost him his bestie/brother/playmate. He couldnât even smile convincingly about the prospect of leaving Usopp behind. He felt a level of regret that Iâm not sure we see him feel again. I think Zoro put them through their paces pretty equally. Zoro saw Luffy regret his choice and forced him to stand by it, which is his job as a captain. And he insisted that Usopp apologize for his choice, which is his job as a crew member.
Zoroâs intent wasnât to take sides. He wasnât operating under the belief that the captain is the only one that can be right. He was trying to get all of them to understand that exploding, quitting, and coming back without acknowledging the source of strife is not a sustainable method of communication for a crew. If they canât hash it out and own their mistakes or mean what they say, they canât fully trust each other. And they need a captain with a clear vision. Thereâs no room for wavering unless theyâre ready to lose their lives.
And Usopp comes back and heâs still clinging to Zoro and climbing on him and using him as a shield, so I think theyâre just fine.
