the thing is like. cowboy bebop & trigun are functionally similar pieces of media (melancholy 90s space western adult swim animanga) but trigun is like. you are lonely and permanently running from a past that is part of you that you can't escape and which continually haunts u and affects u in the present. (hopeful) (breaking the cycle) and cowboy bebop is like. you are lonely and permanently running from a past that is part of you that you can't escape and which continually haunts u and affects u in the present. (derogatory)(the past is alive and it is going to fucking GET you)
On my hands and knees begging adults to allow children to engage in risk play.
And by risk play I don't mean handing them a gun and playing Russian Roulette.
I mean like climbing trees, getting so sick spinning on the swing they throw up, balancing on the curb, sitting in the mud, walking on slippery surfaces, building half ass ramps to ride their bike over, standing on rocks, or anything that involves a smidgen of confidence and out of the box thinking that could result in injury.
Obviously like watch your kids and such, but when we talk about the fun of being an 80s or 90s kid, it's not just talking about CDs and Walkmans or not having iPads. It's about how kids today were robbed of critical learning and experience skills we were allowed to have.
Playgrounds disappearing, helicopter parents, and sue culture really destroyed a child's development in the United States, and I think it's about time we as adults recognize that, because the kids sure have.

Please do things to strengthen your attention span. It stresses me out so much when people just accept their small attention spans and cater to them without any acknowledgment that they are making it worse by doing that.
There is a reason attention spans are worse now and it didn’t just happen by chance. Media and the internet designed it that way and we went with it because it was easier.
Some of us with ADHD and brain fog need to meet ourselves where we’re at and exercise our attention span by watching a two minute video instead of a one minute video. Some of us need to sit down and read a novel with our phones turned off.
Wherever you’re at, just realize that not doing things that feel hard will keep making your attention span worse.
Don’t let the fact that you don’t know what you’re doing stop you from doing anything. We start everything from a place of not knowing- walking, reading, dating, working. And through the doing, we learn. We may not get it right the 1st time, but eventually we know what we’re doing.
