Hey y’all, if you appreciated Martyn’s finale you should go give him some love to block out the gross comments he got!

Martyn: --of really boring, slow, decision making on what we were going to do. I literally had Grian, like, dm'ing me on discord, being like--he literally said the words "for a good story, now is the time to turn on Scott." And that was a couple minutes after I already tried to initiate one, by dumping lava on Scott for the first time. Um, and then I said, "I've already tried to do that, I think everyone's already a bit too exhausted / focused on what's going on," and Grian was like, "it's painful." And I was like, "no, I know," (laughter).

Martyn: but then, like, it played out the way that it did, um, and as soon as it was all done and dusted and everything finished, Grian just messaged me and was like, "that was the right move." So, like, its the thing where, I think I'm in this really weird position within the Limited Life, or the Life Series in general, where all the Empires lot have got their die hard fans, all the Hermitcraft lot have got their die hard fans, um, whereas me--I do have an audience, don't get me wrong, but, I think my audience is rational, and calm, and they understand that entertainment comes first versus--you know, mechanics, and things like that.

Martyn: um--and I think that if I were to ever do something wrong or something to hinder one of the other players, I knew for a fact that I would get a ton of flack for it. But also--I don't care (laughs). You know what I mean? It's like--I know for a fact that the people I collaborate with, they don't care, they were doing it for entertainment purposes as well, we're all on the same wavelength, and like we've said many a time before, if it makes it to the episode, its seen by the public, then everybody that was in the session agreed with it. Everybody that, y'know, took part in it agreed that was the decision, the right thing, whatever.

Just saw the Mario Movie and I got a few things to say

1) overall, I enjoyed it a lot and referencing stuff from the games tickled my brain. It’s a fun movie and I wouldn’t mind watching it again

2) heLLO???? THE MUSIC????? FANTASTIC. Hearing the little iconic tunes are making me giggle lol

3) the animation is so pretty! I don’t know much about art, but I thought it was really really nice. Lighting was really cool and the detail on the world and characters was impressive

4) Peach was not being an insufferable “Strong Woman” like I feared. She was there doing what she needed to do and not making a huge deal about it. Thank you for that. She’s my main in smash and kart and I would die for her.

5) speaking of Peach, she and Mario did not end up in a romantic relationship at the end. They are partners, friends. If they were to get into a relationship in the far future, I think this is a good starting point to build off of.

6) and speaking of Mario, the guy was pretty cool. The Pratt man wasn’t terrible. I was iffy at the beginning of the movie but I was over it after a short while. I cringed less than I thought

7) I am so so so happy they didn’t pull a “What is this? Im the chosen one? But im just a dude” trope. Mario is just like, “ayo im a guy and im confident that I know how to do plumbing things and I love my brother.” Love that for you, Mario.

8) The Mario and Luigi’s brotherly relationship is everything to me. It was beautiful and all I ever needed in the franchise. I want more. And to get more, i need Luigi to be by Mario’s side and not trapped in a cage for most of the movie. Luigi is my baby and I love him and he’s doing great in every scene. I just NEED him to have MORE screen time.

9) up until this movie, I did not ship Bowser and Luigi, but now I’m considering it. They’re interactions were sus as hell and the chemistry was undeniable. That’s just the truth sorry not sorry

10) JACK BLACK WAS AMAZING AND HES EVERYTHING AS BOWSER AND YES MAN SING IT

11) I love Bowser with all my heart and he was so good in this movie

That was the BEST way to introduce him and I nearly went feral when it happened

13) I need more DK and Mario friendship please and thank you

14) I want more content and I hope the internet will supply me with fun and fluffy (or angsty) content otherwise, I will cry

hey. btw. dsmp fans. dont stop creating. dont think because its over you cant retell those stories again and again. ive seen that a lot in mcyt stuff recently, ppl being like “sry this is based on smthn that happened a month ago” or “sorry im late to this thing” NO. you are not late! you are creating and you are experiencing joy! im still making art based off of stuff from 2013. there is no “late”. there is only now. keep creating. 

“you cheered for me,” grian told him, accused of him. scar looked down at the finger poking into his chest, then back at grian’s face. his eyebrows furrowed with his confusion. “during limited life. after you,” grian paused, swallowing down a sour taste in his mouth. “after i killed you, you cheered for me.”

“well, yeah,” scar said, grabbing some materials from his shulker box. scar didn’t know if it was because he had a castle to build or because he didn’t want grian to see his hands shaking. “if you win, i win, right?”

grian took a deep breath, shaking his head. “that wasn’t third life,” he said as if scar needed the reminder. “it wasn’t going to work like that.”

“i know,” scar smiled sadly. he looked back down at his shulker, before picking it back up, switching it between his hands so he had something to do.

there was a conflicted look on grian’s face. “then why did you do it?” he asked, and scar wished their hearts were still connected, that he could still feel grian’s pulse in his chest as much as his own.

“i guess i couldn’t help it,” scar said and grian ran a nervous hand through his hair. scar reached out and tugged on it, holding it so that grian couldn’t pull out his hair. grian gripped onto it like a lifeline.

Never thought I'd ship Bowser and Luigi but here we are...

god okay. keep in mind i didn't watch evo. but if we're doing stuff with watchers in traffic series. and we're doing the "jimmy is cursed to be the one that dies first to warn everyone else that it's time to die" thing. don't you think we should also do something with the fact that, if i remember right, the watchers canonically just Absolutely Fucking Despised jimmy? like, didn't they outright ditch him between updates at one point (and that's how he met the listeners)? wasn't that a thing? i could be mixing my lore up but i SWEAR that's a thing,

Painful as it was in the beginning, it only feels glorious now

Notice how Odalia did not get redeemed. It seems she is no longer in the picture when it comes to the Blight kids' lives nor Alador's. And it seems like the show hinted at Alador moving on to someone else. This is so important. Abusive parents and spouses are not worthy of redemption and I'm so proud of The Owl House for showing that.

Sure tomorrow Jesus rose from the dead to save all mankind or whatever it is he did for the christians but TONIGHT Luz rose from the dead to quote her cringe book series and beat the shit out of a puritan once and for all with the help of found family

it’s just. in the end it’s about family. it’s about Camila pulling Eda into a hug because she took care of her baby. it’s about Hunter thinking he has no one looking for him only to find Darius over his shoulder. it’s about King’s dad telling Luz to tell King he loafs him. (it’s about Caleb falling in love with Evelyn, Philip betraying him for it.) it’s about Gus and Amity and Willow finding their dads. Vee graduating alongside Luz. The Collector being a lonely kid who was abandoned. 

Luz having her quinceañera on the Boiling Isles with everyone she loves around her. This show is about family. 

*SPOILER ALERT*

You know what the best part of Watching and Dreaming for me was? The fact that it opens SO MANY doors for fans to discuss or make content. There's Hunter's new palisman, the University of Wild Magic, the political state of the Boiling Isles, and so much more. We're not going to run out of TOH content anytime soon.

So I just saw the Mario movie and

I LOVE THEIR PORTRAYAL OF BOWSER

He is everything I ever hoped he’d be. Big, powerful, scary, threatening…. but also a total theatrical goober with a soft side. Perfect.

I would love for him to grow giant for a final battle as he tends to do in the games, and for them to introduce Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings to expand on that soft side of his… but all that can wait for the sequel I suppose :P

Sorry I’m thinking about Martyn winning + the absence of Ren [has Renchanting disease]…

Martyn always acts nonchalant and independent and gossipy in these series, he goes around the entire server, he is in everyone’s business but also detached from everyone’s business at the same time. In every season (except this one), Martyn ends up gravitating towards Ren and never truly betrays him.

But this time? Martyn has Scott, who in all honesty is a wonderful and selfless ally, and despite all that Scott does, all the forgiveness and aid and asking for Martyn to kill him, Martyn still wanders around. In the finale episode, Martyn sets off before Scott can even say a word to him. And while Martyn couldn’t manage to betray Ren in 3rd Life, he betrayed Scott here (although he killed Scott first so Impulse couldn’t get the time).

Traffic Martyn is unhinged. He’s a loose canon. He can’t trust the rest. He likes hanging out around people, but he constantly lies and escapes to get himself out of trouble. He has his allies, but he still wanders. He goes around the four corners of the world, and he finds nothing but walls and edges. He’s independent. Martyn places his own survival first, vs the selfless Scott who repeatedly sacrifices time for people whom aren’t even his closest allies.

But Ren historically has always been the exception. Dogwarts. The Red Army. Hand of the King. Martyn could’ve betrayed Ren. He had multiple chances. He never did.

And now Limited Life Martyn is wrapped up in a Red Winter scarf from the old times and there’s no Ren to hold him back, to soften him, to guide the unguided hand. Martyn has Scott, but he was never as loyal to Scott as he was to the Red King.

Remember people pointing out that when Martyn and Ren team up, they always land in the middle of the pack? 3rd Life, Hermit Raiders, MCC15. And now, in Martyn’s first season without Ren, he girlbosses and betrays his way to victory. He finally achieved his Spring.

Martyn is an unguided hand, and Ren is the only one who can guide him. Yet, with Ren, Martyn dies. Without Ren, Martyn survives.

Been thinking about them growing up 🌱

One thing I love love love love *love* about the Owl House finale is that they gave Luz's titan form such an evil-coded color palette, and design in general.

I mean, think about it. Blacked-out eyes, a black outfit with bone motifs, eyeliner, fangs, and magic that's either the orange-red of fire or the classic black-with-purple-outline meant to show darkness? In any other show that would be some "evil form" of a protagonist, a dark mirror or something, but in the Owl House she gets to be the good guy while *still* looking dark and edgy. And I can't thank the creators enough for that.

Hell, that's kind of tied into the show's themes, right? I know Belos got all disgusting and goopy by the end, but the Emperor's Coven were all about the stereotypical good-guy colors of white and gold. And even Belos's goop form is the dark green and sky blue that matches Earth more than the isles. But the good side is the one that made a deal with the devil to come back from the dead, blasting the self-righteous witch-hunter to bits with void and fire.

This show is so good, guys. It's incredible.

I hope Barbie is so good and successful it makes every executive that’s turned everything bright and fun made for young girls into edgy boring teen dramas for the last ten years spontaneously combust into flames

Just realize that Martyn talked at some point about betraying Ren before the final session of 3rd life.

And now he finally gets his betrayal without Ren there, and it’s to the one person who also asked Martyn to kill him earlier in the series.

Oh we will absolutely be going insane over this for like ever.
