Random but I love when Taash handles things. They might be young and a bit confused around some stuff but they're nothing close to unprofessional and that's genuinely such a fun and compelling character dichotomy to have.

I don't know how to articulate this well, but I really fucking hate the way a lot of thin writers write fat characters. Like how men write women "breasting boobily" there is something so dehumanizing about how fat characters are often written. "He waddled", "he lumbered", the writer of the book I'm reading always mentions this characters "fleshy hand" when he does something with his hand. Like, we already know that he's fat. There is no need to describe everything he does as "doing it fatly".
I think a lot of people dislike Taash discussing gender and being non-binary so explicitly because it forces them to acknowledge those issues rather than remain comfortable ignoring them. Transgender identities in Veilguard are not an innuendo, an off-handed remark, but they're mentioned and discussed in a way that prevents working around them and disregarding them. All the talk of people mentioning how DA games should be "medieval fantasy" and not use "modern language" is just a facade for wanting to be able to ignore what makes people uncomfortable.
I feel like if you use a mod to put another character in Taashβs flirt scene and go βi wish we got thisβ then maybe you might enjoyβ¦ romancing Taash? Because I romanced them and very much did got thisβ¦
Hello my friends, I am Fairuz, married and have two children. I will tell you my story. In this war and the suffering we are living, I was sleeping with my family and my two children, Ahmed and Mohammed... The morning of October 7, the fateful day that turned our lives upside down. I had a very beautiful life. My husband worked in a restaurant and we lacked nothing. My children had many toys and many clothes. We hoped and drank the most beautiful thing. I will share with you some of our pictures before and after the war... The day came that changed my life and the lives of my children. We no longer owned anything and our house was completely destroyed on the second day of the war. We escaped from it with difficulty. My child Ahmed was ten months old, Ahmed and Mohammed were 4 years old. We took a few clothes and left our destroyed house and were displaced to many places. Then we went to the south on foot, and I was carrying my child Ahmed, and the bombing and missiles were above our heads. I was very afraid for them. We were crying a lot on the way. We did not know which way to go or where to go. My children and I cried a lot on the way and went to UNRWA schools. I couldn't live there. I didn't have a place for my children and I to sit. We set up a tent and winter came to us. The weather was very cold. We didn't have blankets, bedding or anything... These were the worst days of my life. Then came the insects that filled the place from all directions. π And Muhammad got hepatitis, so I was crying a lot during that period. And Ahmed got pimples that were spreading all over his body. I wished for death during that period, because I couldn't bear this suffering. Now we need blankets, movements, food, drink and cleaning tools.
Reblog to kiss her freckles <3
not to be dramatic or anything but this makes me wanna commit crimes
Anyway I had a dream last night that there was a part in the Taash romance where they decided that the Veilguard wasnβt killing enough gods. They asked Rook to go scrounge up an extra god to take down. Why limit ourselves to two, after all?? My Rook was very amenable to the request!
I didnβt even question that this isnβt canon for a good half hour after I woke up
This is why I can't take this fandom seriously.
Taash is in their very early 20's. They are not a βthousands of years old being who speaks in iambsβ or whatever the fuck it is that Solavellans gush on about. Not a goddamn thing they say is βcrapβ - it's short, it's to the point, it's very often funny as fuck because it pulls no punches. It serves as comedic punctuation very often simply because they don't have the patience for other people's bullshit.
I never see specifics as to what people find cringey and I suspect it's because people are uncomfortable with Taash's identity, or CONSTANTLY forget they are 20-23. And holy shit the cringe things everyone says at that age.
Taash is remarkable and mature for their age, an expert in their favorite subject, and recognized as such by people much older than them, who literally put their lives in Taash's hands regularly. I think Taash is allowed a few moments to be weird and 20 once in a fucking while without people coming for Trick and gurgling on about inconsistent writing.
Taash smiles
