its so small and arbitrary but its so interesting to me that walt is constantly intruding on jesse's spaces throughout the show to the point of jesse basically having no true private safe space of his own. walt, on the other hand, is super territorial of his home and the spaces his life occupies. fuck, walt flies into a rage in "down" when jesse is parked down the STREET from his house. but walt is constantly barging into wherever jesse is living at the time, pounding on the door and yelling his name and letting himself in. he breaks into jesse's house TWICE in season 2. walt is allowed to have his privacy, but jesse is not. its such an insidious abuse tactic. walt's like the parent taking jesse's bedroom door off its hinges.

I actually HAVE playlist for Angelfish, but it’s just MY favorite songs + artists cuz well I’m projecting myself onto them<3 and I have one for Fire Jelly that I made just because of this!
Angelfish’s genres are rock, alternative, metal, industrial, goth, and a few more… they don’t really have a strict label, their taste depends on how they’re feeling.
Fire Jelly’s are rock, metal, and punk, but he also listens to other stuff like Angelfish. Just whatever’s giving good feelings, yk? Rock music is generally his favorite tho.
Rob Zombie has a surprising spot in Angelfish’s heart. They listen to his music while kicking their feet like a schoolgirl all cutesy, cuz they’re just silly like that… my weird little bug. He’s not shy to dance when he’s just enjoying his music, but if you ever ask him to dance— he will fumble around real bad.
Angelfish’s favorite songs are King Of The World by Angelfish, Mechhanical Man From The Outer Limits by Schoolyard Heroes, Boyfriend by Schoolyard Heroes, You and Your Friend by Snake River Conspiracy, How Soon is Now by Snake River Conspiracy, and Vampire Lover by Lesbian Bed Death! They have trouble picking favorite songs, because they like so many. They change their favorites a lot because of that.
Fire Jelly’s favorite songs are Josephine by Terrorvision, Oblivion by Terrorvision, Perseverance by Terrorvision, My House by Terrorvision— most Terrorvision songs actually. Angelfish has trouble picking, but they still pick— Fire Jelly just doesn’t pick at all. He’d list every song by Terrorvision that he could think of off the top of his empty head. This isnt directed at anything specific, just want to do my best to help out the many people fleeing countries to seek aid in thailand as someone who both grew up here/speaks the language Id like to provide some specific experiences that help foreigners adjust.
First its extremely likely if someone moves to the south east that has been living in the northern hemisphere you will struggle most with the heat and humidity. White People Especially. All of you need to be drinking extra water everyday, this is not a joke heat stroke is very common for white people here because they dont realize how dehydrated they are until its already causing harm. Please stay safe.
If the summers start getting too hot take day trips to mountain towns/businesses there's a lot of local industry around people going to cooler weather at higher elevations during the hottest times of year.
Addition for health, Please get vaccinated Before coming here. We all trust all foreigners/tourists do (and since covid screenings in airports are much more common) Especially for mosquito transmissible diseases.
Thailand uses yearly field burning for crop rotation, this causes periods of the year with extreme air pollution/smog. cities will put out air warnings in advance so people can either seal their homes to prevent air from getting in unfiltered or wear smoke masks. I recommend people do this asap before its a necessity.
Language wise thailand has a large enough tourism base that most people also learn at least some english/there's businesses that teach foreigners thai. Learning before traveling is appreciated, the main thing to keep in mind is that since thai is a tonal language without tone control words can get mixed up/confused. (this is pretty normal for new speakers tho)
If people want to learn thai i highly recommend watching news broadcasts! you get to see a wide variety of speakers and use in conversations. Searching "ข่าว PP" or "ข่าว TNN" on youtube will get you fairly official political broadcasts, but even if you just search ข่าว or ข่าวดึก can bring up a lot of good examples of people speaking.
If youre an english speaker one of the best jobs you can look for is as an english teacher or tutor. It's a very searched for job and usually provides good opportunity for learning the language as well.
If youre in a big city look up the local train routes and use those, as finding parking/driving places will generally be much worse than just using the trains. That being said getting a motor bike is fairly easy and inexpensive for commutes if needed.
This is a disappointing but necessary heads up for foreigners, colorism is still a fairly wide spread issue in thailand. People arent violent but things like finding work/some aid does have discriminatory practices still and its extremely disappointing. There are local movements and people fighting to end it, but its been ingrained in a lot of people.
speaking of local communities if anyone who's coming to thailand is coming for hrt/trans support i highly recommend getting into contact with the local trans fem communities/gay centers. There's massive international culture and groups of people that will help you both get what you need and with support.
I know i said a lot here but i am genuinely really happy my home can provide safety and aid to people in hard times. I know from a lot of personal experience how scary it is when you have to flee your home, and if there's anything i can do to help ease that process even with limited resources i will do my best.

Consider who's going with you, and what kind of experience you'd like to have.
For ease of access as an english speaker, it may be worth looking into somewhere in Europe. If you've got family out of the country, it could be there.
Personally, my partners and I are looking at southeast Asia. Probably not Japan again, but somewhere in that hemisphere is where we plan to touch down. We ended up going with that region because one of my partner's is black, and we didn't want to go to a country that was especially anti-black, so pretty much every white, english-speaking colonial country was out of the question. If the goal is to go somewhere safe, we're going somewhere we can all be safe.
The hardest part is not choosing the place to go, it's getting started with the process of doing it. Make sure you pick somewhere that will be good for you, and be thorough in making your decision, but remember that you can't run a marathon without the first step.
Look up "One day living in [COUNTRY]", "Trying street food in [COUNTRY]", "First time visiting [COUNTRY]," and other kinds of videos to get an idea of the ground-level living wherever you think to go. Look up things like how much it costs to go to the dentist, how much it costs to ride the bus, how much it costs to rent a house. Look up possible visas, conversion rates between currencies, languages spoken, religions practiced, common phrases and social expectations, courtesies and customs. Get acquainted before you go, and then go.
That is my advice. I'm sorry I can't give you more.

You probably don’t expect a group of tech nerds to be all rowdy, but they are. The office is always full of loud laughter and playful pushing and such. It’s a bit crowded, though there’s just about 8 of them, the office isn’t the most spacious place. It’s okay, though.
It’s fun— they’re all friends.
It’s fun— they’re having fun.
It’s just a lot. Overwhelming. Overstimulating. A little. Just a little too much. Sometimes someone just needs a breather— a little break. Just a few minutes. Just a few minutes outside. Just a minute.
Finn pushed himself out of his little sticker-covered desk— and pulled himself out of his torn old swivel chair. He rubbed over the little stickers stuck on the wood surface for a moment before he walked off. Star stickers, flowers, cartoon characters, etc. slightly overlapping with each other, crammed together and completely covering a third of the desk. He hopes that the fact of nobody saying anything means it’s okay— because the furniture isn’t really good anyway.
He’s just a bit wobbly, sitting for too long. He wonders if that’s why the other coders are basically wrestling with each other every minute they can— so they don’t get all stiff and tired.
He slipped past them, trying to ignore the terrible jokes and music he’d been forced to overhear for hours, and made his way outside. He got bumped up against once or twice, and tried not to let his urge to just go limp and fall over win. He wouldn’t hit anything, his abilities triggered on instinct when he knew he’d be getting too close to eating dirt, but suddenly floating around in front of your coworkers isn’t an ideal situation.
He took a deep breath once he’d made it out. It’s darker than he expected it to be. How long has he been in there? It… didn’t feel that long? He didn’t want to bother pulling out his phone and checking, he didn’t really care. It’s not like he had anyone waiting up on him— or at least he didn’t think he did? He hadn’t been called in, so there’s nothing. He thinks.
He’s reaching into his pocket, because he’s realizing that maybe he should care— that the time might actually matter— but he’s cut off by someone tapping him with the back of their hand, trying to get his attention.
They had a cigarette in their hand. Right. This was a smoking spot, for when people needed smoke breaks. They were someone from another office, taking a smoke break.
“You have a light?”, they asked him quietly with their cigarette pointed towards him. “You can have one if you let me use your lighter.”, they continued.
He didn’t exactly think before he pinched the end of the cigarette between his fingers, and ignited it. The thought didn’t come across his mind, the thought of “normal people can’t spark fire from their hands, so you shouldn’t do it”. It just didn’t make it there fast enough. Apparently, it was just delayed, because he stopped and pulled his hand away a second later.
His panicked brain could only think of a response to the person’s offer, and not a way to handle his major misstep. “I don’t smoke— it feels gross”, he blurted out.
This person… didn’t seem to care much. As if they didn’t notice that instead of pulling out a lighter and igniting it, this strange guy just made fire from his fingertips. They just took a drag, inhaling and exhaling deeply as they leaned against the wall.
“Gross? Yeah, it feels pretty weird. I just ignore it.”, they spoke softly while watching the smoke float away. They took another drag.
He stared at them, dumbfounded. They definitely saw what he did, and they’re just completely unbothered. They didn’t even pause for a second. They didn’t blink. They just went on with their smoke break. He feels even more awkward than normal. It’d probably have been better if they just did something, but absolutely nothing? Does he just stand there too? But he can see them and smell the smoke— he can’t just ignore them.
“… Smoking’s really bad for you, and you feel weird smoking, so… why are you smoking..?”, he tilted his head a bit as he asked them tensely. He was turned towards them, looking between the smoke they blew out and bits of their attire. He could mostly just tell that they’re wearing the simple office attire every office worker wears. Simple work shirt, simple work pants. He didn’t look like that, because despite it being an office job, uniforms didn’t matter for his group.
They shrugged. Just shrugged.
He leaned a bit closer, so ready to ask something else, but he’s cut off the moment he opens his mouth. A phone ring. He’s phone’s ringing, and it shocks him upright. He turns on his heel and rushes off somewhere else— somewhere he’s not entirely sure of yet, but he’ll figure it out when he answers the call.
By the time he’s ended the call, he’s in the bathroom getting dressed. It was a distress call. From Angelfish. Well, less of a distress call and more of a “please come lend me just a bit of a hand..?” call. It was important regardless— way more important than being crammed in an office. To him. He can work from home anyway— he just shows up because they spent the money they didn’t use on furniture on good computers instead, and his laptop doesn’t like him very much. It can get the job done, but you can only take so much lagging and crashing before you wanna smash your computer.
He pulled on his little homemade hero uniform, and thought about where he’d take them for food this time. Any time he worked with them, he’d treat them to a meal for their good work. Like a coach buying his team pizza— except Finn isn’t much of a coach. Not much of a mentor either, but that’s what he’s supposed to be. He’s okay enough at looking after them, but teaching them? They teach him more than he teaches them. The best he offers is a few little anecdotes about his personal experiences, but not really lessons. His mentorship consists of yapping, watching, and buying food.
He’ll go with the same place again.

I grit my teeth and read the entire executive order regarding trans people, and I just want to take the opportunity to remind folks not to forget intersex people. One of the rescinded documents is “Supporting Intersex Students: A Resource for Students, Families, and Educators," and there is a huge emphasis on legally enshrining "only two sexes."
Yes, this affects trans people, but with the way intersex voices often get ignored in trans spaces, I just want to remind folks not to shut us out. Don't forget us. Don't keep talking over us. Don't act like we aren't on the front lines. Don't act like this is just about you. Please.

I searched for Hitler. Nothing came up. In fact, it told me to "get the facts". I know plenty of videos have been spread about him and WWII Germany, so this is highly highly suspicious.
Then I search for anti Trump. Only "Trump campaign 2024 commercial" shows up.
What about anti Trump rallies? Recent trump rallies, latest trump rallies, trump rally 2024, etc.
Many are participating in Operation Firewall, a similar strategy used by us here on Tumblr and gold on BlueSky. Ignore and block all conservatives while lifting up progressive and liberal voices. I will be doing this until the app is officially bought, at which point I'm fully deleting.
Please share this. I know some of you have a disdain for TikTok, but about half of America uses the app. It's used for things such as sharing protests, marchs and events many news outlets won't cover due to their own agenda or time.
