Taking intentionally bad photos of yourself is so fun because 1. you get funny images, and 2. you have transcended beauty and entered life
i learned about Marion Stokes, a Philadelphia woman who began taping whatever was on television in 1979 and didn’t stop until her death in 2012.. The 71,000 VHS and Betamax tapes she made are the most complete collection preserving this era of TV. They are being digitized by the Internet Archive. (x)
there is so much overlap between ADHD and autism (and so many people who fit the criteria for both) that it's likely they will eventually end up being reclassified as related orders, or as members of the same spectrum. this is a good thing that will make it easier for people to get an accurate and helpful diagnosis! in the meantime, I'm so proud of how much solidarity I see between ADHD and autistic folks online. I see ya'll pooling resources and sharing tools & coping strategies, and just generally offering support and acceptance, and I am so proud.
Who'd chose to be the Chosen One?
Meet Erin Parr, a non-practicing witch. She's 39 years old with three kids and a husband, and she hasn't had a paid job in her whole life. And it doesn't look like anyone is going to pay her for her new job either: saving the world.
When she first hears about the Prophecy, no one believes in her less than herself (though there's some pretty stiff competition), but someone needs to roll up their sleeves and get the job done, and it's usually her.
The year is 1961 and Erin must go on an epic roadtrip in a rundown Morris Minor with a cranky community nurse, a professor with more bravado than sense and two university students with a lot to prove and more to hide.
Another year, another group of my delightful ninth graders trying to spell the word "tragedy" for their Romeo and Juliet assignment.

My favourite thing about Abed Nadir is the fact that he is a HORRIBLE filmmaker.
Like I feel like when you think about autistic people, you think of people who are insanely good at their special interests and they’re bad at everything else. That’s the stereotype, and as an autistic person, I just kind of assumed that everyone else was just insanely good at their special interests.
But a special interest is just something you’re obsessed with. That doesn’t mean you’re good at it.
Abed cares about film as a medium so much that it is the way he processes and interprets reality. His opinions on movies and tv shows are thought out and long. He knows everything about everything when it comes to film.
And yet he’s absolute shit at actually doing it. With the exception of the documentary episodes, every piece of film we see from Abed is mediocre at best. He knows everything that goes into a good movie, but he can’t quite put the pieces together right.
And that’s why he’s the most relatable autistic character I’ve ever seen. He’s not some prodigy that can pull a movie out of his head in 5 seconds like it’s nothing. He’s just a guy who’s trying to get better at something. Give me more autistic characters that are completely mediocre at their special interests. Let me be autistic and also just a bit of a dumbass please
Maybe I’m just asexual but I genuinely think that the idea that some people are so hot that literally everyone wants them is a myth. I think some of those people supposedly everyone is attracted to are just rich or well connected
