There’s some things you have to know

Number 1: There are like 193829187391010838201038839119019389201 guys named John.

That’s all.

He was physically sick when he came onstage with us that night.  You see, I’d made “Whatever Gets you Through the Night,” and I sang on another track on Walls and Bridges, and we made sort of, well, not a hard bargain that if it got to number one, he’d come onstage.  And he kept his bargain. He came up to Boston to see us, just to check the show out .  When he saw all the equipment he said, “My God, is this what it’s all about?”  I came by wearing a chocolate-box cover and nothing else.  It was his time with May Pang and he was very happy. Just to give you an example, he would take my band to the airport and make sure my mother was OK.  I’ve never met anybody more thoughtful.  I know you read in some books that John would be cruel and had a very cynical sense of humor, and I’ve seen that side of him too.  I was with him at a particularly crazy time for him and for me.   But underneath it all, I never saw anything else but kindness.  He is sacred to me. He is the only person in this business who is absolutely, one hundred percent sacred to me.  And even if I’m doing bad things to myself, or if I’m being totally miserable or morose, or being unreasonable to people, I sometimes think, “Oh my God, John, if there is really a big pearly gate, you’re going to be standing outside of it and giving me the biggest lecture.” That’s  because he’s the only person in this business that I’ve ever looked up to, the only person.  I’ve met my equals. I’ve met people who are great like Mike Jagger and Pete Townshend, who I admire tremendously, but they are not in the same league, I’m sorry.

I found your anon talking about “Change” having a Indian influence interesting because I noticed that Louis was wearing a Sgt. Pepper’s shirt in his documentary, and that was around when The Beatles (especially George Harrison) were experimenting with Indian musical styles. “Within You Without You” from that album is a good example. Maybe Louis has been listening to The Beatles lately. I hope so; I would love to hear that influence on LT2!

You guys are talking and I'm just adding the links! hahaha It makes so much sense, I've seen a lot of people saying Change really had a vibe from The Beatles and I completely agree with it, it comes full circle for me here.

In the world of ballet the term ‘pas de deux’ means a dance sequence for two dancers. In reality, a concept like this is a little harder to moderate and achieve. Solo dancers exist for a reason. Now the big question is, how will a solo dancer go from dancing alone to 'pas de deux’?

Harry Styles is filthy rich, the son of a prima ballerina and a well-known musician, and he is surrounded by the walls he built around himself, which are extremely hard to break down. Louis Tomlinson attends CEA with a scholarship and is alien to the world of the rich and elite. Niall Horan dances in the corps, he is addicted to Capri-Sun drinks and plays every instrument known to mankind. Zayn Malik is the mysterious yet calm artistic roommate everyone dreams of having and Liam Payne is way too focused on producing music.

All these boys attend the Conservatoire of the Exquisite Arts and when it’s announced that they will perform The Nutcracker, dancing starts to mean something else entirely.
