seriously? he was more than grateful that they were working towards being in a better place and that he had a chance at being in her life, but he wanted more. he had to take a chance but her obliviousness felt like i slap in the face. “i’m not high enough for this,” he muttered under his breath. “you really don’t get it, elva. i don’t just love you as a friend i’m... i’m in love with you. i don’t expect you to love me back in that way but come on, can’t you at least let me keep whatever pride i have left in tact by acknowledging me as a man.”
lovewrotes:
“ i don’t really care . i had … nothing better to do , “ and her statement isn’t meant to be taken as mean , that much is proven by the crassness and lackadaisical nature , as she kicks her feet up and down on the seat mindlessly . eyes linger on his form , gauging his every move , before nodding . “ i like hot chocolate . if you … don’t mind . i can make it , though . you look … weird . i don’t want you to burn yourself . “
“ cool, no worries then. ” lacking tact was common place in halloweentown, it was only natural to be direct so salem didn’t take her words personally. nimble fingers ran through wild hair before he shook his head. “ i’m all good. this is how i am usually, ” he assured, moving to begin boiling the milk for the sweet drink. food was hard to stomach when he stayed sober long enough to feel withdrawals so non-alcoholic drinks had become his best friend.
sweetmvsics:
her mother had taught her well ; while chad fell asleep during classical music lessons , stella thoroughly enjoyed it . stella could only play the piano , sing a tune or two - so she was surely not going to perform tonight , but she would watch - enjoy it . “ it’s been awhile since i heard something so passionate . ” she has a fair amount of TALENTED friends , but passionate ? debatable . “ how long have you played for ? ”
some part of salem almost felt bad. a talent he had probably cultivated over years of hard work the first time he was alive, he now barely payed any attention to. “ uuh --- can’t say. years, probably. ” he shrugged. everything he could never find words elegant enough to express, he let it out when he was on stage. how disillusioned anyone from the audience must become when speaking to him.
Hey, I am sober. I’ve been sober for two - almost two days now. It feels like 45 years.
wcstelavd:
“i see,” she mumbled, mostly to herself as she started to mess with organizing the booth, anything but to look at who she used to consider a close friend and feel the pain of losing him again. “you have ?” harlow questioned, slowly raising her head but not meeting his gaze just yet, “i didn’t think you mind me that much anymore.”
“ don’t sound so surprised, that makes me sound terrible --- guess i am, after all. ” he chuckled at the tragic statement, betraying that he was definitely intoxicated if it wasn’t already obvious. he could be a surprising clear speaker despite however much alcohol he consumed. “ i don’t --- uh, i don’t know. i’m not good for people, you know that.”
blvcksail:
“Witty. And here I thought all you’d be able to manage was some pathetic, drugged up giggling.” Likely her least favorite response when dealing with potheads. His answer might’ve even made her smile had she not been so annoyed with the situation already. “As for a date, trust me when I say you couldn’t handle it.”
“No, that’s only on Tuesdays, the special day.” Salem had no filter, no sense of when to stop but he enjoyed living life that way. Truthfully, it was the only way he knew how to survive. “Ah, but you’re considering it. That’s what matters,” he teased, knowing she most likely found him just as annoying as everyone else did.
“Wow, wow.” Salem held his hands up in surrender, chuckling as she wholeheartedly rejected his plan. “That’s the whole point! Doomed for failure. Sounds like a good time to me.” Anything sounded like a good time when you were as high as he was. The male liked learning his limits the hard way.
“Sorry to burst your perfect, little bubble, but that plan is moronic at best. Honestly, I can’t imagine anyone possibly coming up with something more destined to fail.” Beating around the bush had never been her forte. Embellishing just how poorly thought out another’s decision was, however, well….that was where Eden liked to be creative.
icyelva:
Elva sighed, “Salem…” She didn’t know how to follow it. Once upon a time, they had been very close, and then the drugs and the parties…it was so dangerous for Elva to have any friends at all. But someone like Salem, who was full of potential for volatile emotions, was especially vulnerable. “Ten minutes.”
The male glanced over, resisting the urge to frown when she said nothing more. “You know ---- I think they’re already gone,” he started, pulling away from Elva. This was a mistake. He had screwed up by asking her for help. “I should get going.”
I never intended all this madness
