Everything feels awful right now but it isn't really. We still don't officially have a winner, but regardless of how the presidential election ends up, I wanted to take a minute and find what lights I can in the 3 a.m. darkness. Here's what I know:

That's everything I know off the top of my head. It's not many bright spots, but it's not zero. I'm going to try to find more and I'll add them to the post. It's the only thing I can think of to do that isn't sobbing and throwing up or looking up Canadian immigration rules.

Hey guys. It’s okay to process your emotions right now. Feel the disbelief and the anger and the grief. And then remember that your world is not the White House or even all of America but your neighborhood, your family, your friends, your local communities. Get involved on small human levels. Learn to cook tasty meals, support small businesses, volunteer, enjoy the sun. Engage with your favorite fictions for the joy of it. Politicians aren’t bogeymen who can be ever and always present— this time will pass like all others and in the meantime you have the power to root yourself and better the corner of the world you’re in. Be strong, find happiness, and do the things you love with people you love.

I know there are a lot of people thinking about killing themselves right now. I felt the exact same way in 2016 when he first got elected.
This is a bad thing, but to anyone having these types of thoughts, please don't do anything that can't be undone. This is the last term he can be be inaugurated, after these 4 years, or hopefully less, he will be gone. It's difficult to stay positive right now, and that's okay. You don't have to stay positive, it's okay to feel these emotions as they are. But please do not commit suicide, because if you do, you won't be able to feel any emotions ever again.
Even though I felt hopeless at the time, I am so glad that I didn't kill myself in 2016.

This is a small gesture of kindness that in most cases will cost you very little time or effort. It shows consideration for other people's time. Especially in the case of being in a store and letting someone with fewer items than you go first, there is no sense in making someone else wait for you who would otherwise be able to get in and out much quicker.

So like... people have broached the idea of pride flags having dragons on them like heraldry, which is of course correct and just, but like... they shouldn't ALL have dragons, right? Or at least not the same dragon. Each flag should have its own heraldic beast, ideally one that relates to the orientation the flag represents.
Which begs the question of which heraldic beasts would best suit each color of the rainbow, as it were. I think the iconic four legged, two winged dragon makes sense for the main pride/rainbow flag, since dragons are often posited as, like, the pinnacle of monsters, and so feel best suited to be the one that encompasses the whole spectrum, but I'm kind of paralyzed by the options presented to pick out ones for the others.

Undertale Cooking is a collaborative project with the vibrant community of Undertale fans. While many of us enjoy drawing or writing, others enjoy cooking and baking, and that is a perfect creative outlet for expressing our love for this game. Considering how many wild and wacky foods the game contains, and how much of the game seems to be centered around food and cooking, it really is a perfect match.
The recipies you’ll find in this cookbook come from many people in the fandom, and span almost every single food item you can run across in the game. I’ve done my best to organize, photograph, kitchen-test and edit everything into a cohesive collection. Additionally, we have some lovely art for the cookbook contributed by some wonderful artists.
Ultimately, I’d like to create a free eBook version of this cookbook, something colorful and bright you can flip through and enjoy. That has ended up being a rather ambitious goal, so it may be some time before it’s completed. In the meantime, we do have a printer-friendly compilation of all these recipes so you can download, print out and then cook to your heart’s content.

So, a comparatively high amount of states are voting on the fate of ranked choice voting this year. Missouri is voting on whether or not to kill it, Alaska is voting on whether or not to keep it, and most importantly, Nevada, Oregon and Idaho are voting on whether or not to adopt ranked choice voting, with maybe Colorado to follow.
And if you live in these states, even if you don't want to vote at the top of the ticket, I urge you to get out there and vote in favor of ranked choice voting on all of them.
Like, the two-party monopoly is a big part of the reason why politics in this country is so shit, and a big part of that is our "first past the post" system making it basically mathematically impossible for candidates outside of them to win anything beyond a local or state level.
So, if you want to try and break the cycle of voting for the lesser evil, of bipartisan cruelty towards the Global South and the country's own citizens alike, we need to change this and we need to vote on it where we can.
