to mike, this was like PROM, but even better. some might say he was stuck in high school — wanting to relive the glory days && go back to much simpler times. but honestly, what the hell was wrong with that ?? unlike many, he could only assume, he loved those days. as an athlete he got along alright, more than alright to be perfectly honest. so, mike already was having a good time, drink in hand as he wandered the place when amelia spoke to him. an easy, dimpled grin met her own, nodding enthusiastically as peered around the venue once again. “hell yeah. can’t complain — food, music — it’s all fucking perfect.” only then did he catch onto her words. “wait — you’re tellin’ me you did all this ??” raven brows arched, impressed as smirk widened. “well shit. you deserve at least one drink or something. CELEBRATE a little.”
Amelia had been working events for a long time at this point. Even for being twenty-four, she had more experience than a lot of the people she met during her internship. She probably could’ve done something great there, but her family was more important to her. Her sister was just finishing high school and her mother needed help, even if she wouldn’t come out and say it. Nice thing about Ivywood, they sometimes threw decent events and she got to help. Amelia told everyone she would meet them there, knowing she would have some work to do before the event started. As she finished getting ready, Amelia slowly moved down the stairs, eyes moving over the event happening below. It was okay for her to have fun and to forget about everything going on for a little while, plus she was in love with her dress and excited to get to wear it. Spotting someone, she smiled before speaking. “Are you enjoying the gala so far? I honestly think it turned out pretty great, but I might be a little biased.”

“When did you get here, Luna?” Hermione asked genuinely. It seemed like their whole community was turning up and it had been quite the sight. But having Luna here felt like maybe things were normal again. Now the other’s just needed to show up. “Oh this? Thanks, I wore it for someone but I don’t know if it will end up panning out the way I’d hoped. We’ll have to see how things work out with him through the night.” She said and her smile got a little bigger as she moved her focus onto Luna more. “But you look amazing! I love that you are always just yourself. It’s such a nice relief to see you here in all of this chaos. But I know what you mean about it being home.” Hermione said with a nod. “Now if only everyone else could show up, right?”

"about a month or two, give or take. you ??” truthfully the timing of it all was a bit h a z y . sometimes it felt like she’d been here for years && other times like she just go here. but that’s how time worked right ?? years that, while in them, felt like they’d never end happened so quickly when looking back. at hermione’s words gaze turned genuinely a bit upset at her disappointment. “well if it means anything, they’re foolish to not appreciate it or you if that’s the case. && not to overstep — but i’d say always dress for yourself. you’ll look just as radiant, i promise.” they muttered off, though meant it. “being oneself always attracts the right people.” eventually, even if few && far between in some cases. luna’s smile warmed all the more at the compliment. “it would be nice to have a little reunion, wouldn’t it ?? it feels like it’s been forever. i couldn’t even tell you the last time we were all in one space.”
one look at the sky was all it took for luna to be pretty sure it was going to storm later. which only meant that they wouldn’t want to be going back && forth between classes && their apartment. so alas, there they were, lugging all their textbooks around campus. she knew she looked rather FOOLISH, but at the time it seemed like a good idea. now she only had regret, jaw tight with concentration as she clung to the heavy books for dear life, GRATEFUL when the other offered a seat. “oh !! thank you. you’re way too nice.” luna breathed out, plopping down next to alice, yet carefully placing their books down beside themselves. books, whether for pleasure or for university, were things luna held in HIGH REGARD. “you’re a lifesaver.” a grin && a light chuckle, luna’s gaze peered down at the other’s textbook. “you have a test or something ??”

when alice had woken that morning, she’d been relieved to see a sky muddled with heavy, dark clouds. the past two days had been intolerably sunny, and she’d had to email her professors stating she wouldn’t be in class due to migraine. which wasn’t entirely a lie. ever since the news of the she’d been getting them more frequently since the realization that they were all trapped here. it was as if that invisible border was blocking her visions more often than not. her frustration was lessened a bit by the preferable change in weather. her economics textbook lay open in her lap, and though her head was down, she was only skimming the pages. it was all stuff she’d studied countless years and years before. besides, she’d already seen that she would pass the test. her dark, spiky head lifted with a friendly smile as someone approached the bench. “ hi. did you want to sit? i can make room. ”

“I want to run towards something, not away.”
this whole evening seemed like a horrendous idea. always such a waste, whether that be food, recourses, or time. it practically mirrored a party at the esteemed president’s mansion. ivywood already made her uneasy, && this only made it worse. all the more so when someone in particular caught her eye —— someone she’d known for years, had studied prior to her own games && worked alongside for the rest. but it was IMPOSSIBLE. capitol mutts — their eyes resembled past tributes but certainly the capitol couldn’t do more ... she hoped. johanna waited until he was alone to approach, immediately defensive, gaze cold. “what are you ?? — who sent you ??” @spcllbovnd / finnick odair.

“ So you’re… still in school, then? ” He asked, honestly surprised that the conversation had lasted this long. Still, that must have been a good sign, right? “ Well, something tells me that might be better than the muggle job I’m forced to work. ” Don’t get him wrong, he enjoyed his job, but Draco Malfoy always needed something to complain about. “ I suppose I can agree with that. There are some things that don’t compare, but for the most part the food is decent. ”

“studying at the local uni. biology with a focus on animal science eventually.” animals had always been nicer than people. “too many are going extinct these days. && maybe there’s more out there, waiting to be found or that once existed.” it didn’t matter with whom she was talking to, animals && creatures had always been a passion of theirs, they could ramble for hours. muggle — it felt like a familiar word yet when trying to define it in their head, luna couldn’t. “— well ... what is it exactly ?? but i do agree. it’s always best to do something rather than nothing. keeps the mind sane && in tact.”

Bill nodded his head, starting to realize that maybe Bev didn’t have all of her memories. “Beverly,” He started, making sure he was careful with how he asked his question. “How much do you remember? About everything.” He wanted to know if she remembered the second fight with Pennywise, or if maybe she was like Mike and had forgotten some parts. “We could definitely take that plan sure! I can promise you Richie would be completely up for it. Sure he would have a blast.”
🎈❤️🔥
it was EMBARASSING, forgetting about one’s childhood && friends. but with bill && the losers she didn’t question honesty like she did with others. “well —i didn’t really remember you or the others till i saw you. i’ve always had dreams of It but always thought they were just nightmares. some still are but it’s nice to understand them a bit despite knowing It might come back.” even now as she tried to sort the timeline out it was confusing, like there were blockages in her own mind. “why ?? did that happen to you too ?? ” a light chuckle, this time a bit more joyous at the idea. “oh for sure. maybe we shouldn’t let him pick out everyone’s fake pasts though. we’ll all have storylines that could be in any soap opera or worse, guaranteed.”
there wasn’t a lot of people left in johanna’s life — in fact there were more people now than there were just a few years ago. the quarter quell, the rebellion ... most things johanna would never chose to relive. but, somewhere in all that a few people managed to stick, not that she’d ever admit that to them. but she was getting desperate to figure out what was going on, to know she wasn’t completely alone or losing it more than she already had. the bakery, she should’ve known he’d be here. “— one of whatever’s freshest. && of course, anything you got on why the hell we’re here.” johanna managed a small smirk, warm for her ; she always was rather straight to the point.

Peeta worked easily in the bakery, finding peace among the recipes and the decorating. He was good at it and enjoyed every minute of it. He got up early in the morning and went to work, spent most of his time in the back baking and decorating everything in his path. Most o the time he didn’t interact too much with customers, but today happened to be one of the days where everyone was pitching in where they could. Peeta was spending a lot of time up front and in the back, trying to keep up with everything. On his trip back to the front, he saw a customer waiting and took the chance to help. “Welcome.” He spoke in a soft voice. “Is there something I can help you with?”

Bev had brought Tink along for this exact reason, and fae was happy to help. In fae’s opinion, instructions were for sellouts as well; fae nodded in agreement at the sentiment. As the two of them looked on at what they’d narrowed their selection down to - two coffee tables, both modest in price and very nice, either of which would look great as the centerpiece to the redhead’s little apartment living room - blue eyes studied the first that was pointed at. Fae smiled with the other as she grinned that knowing, warm smile of her’s, giving back a little shrug of Hey, if it works ! The blonde wouldn’t be the first to throw stones, considering fae’s hobby of hitting things with a hammer until they worked. Both of them seemed relatively easy to piece together, as long as she had the right tools to do so with. So, Tink went with the one that appealed most to fae aesthetically. With a point to the one on the left, there was the answer - I really like that one. Then fae looked to the other, smiling their own clever, knowing smile. As long as we do it together, we’ll be the dream team ! Both of their personalities meshed so well, their determination and passion and warmth, it was sort of perfect how they’d ended up friends. What do you say ? Ultimately, though, it was the other’s choice - they’d have to live with it in their home for the next little while.
・・・・・・
besides with the losers, it’d always been rather DIFFICULT letting people in ; the cruel words she heard from many over the years a constant echo. but with tink she didn’t worry. it was surprisingly e a s y . && while she greatly loved her childhood friends, considering most of them had all their memories she felt a bit misplaced. she could simply be herself, who she was right now. bev studied fae’s reactions carefully, making her final glance between the two options before nodding. “you’re so right. the light wood will BRIGHTEN the room quite nicely.” it took bev a while to actually believe it, but she could do whatever she put her mind to. seeing tink’s clever smirk only confirmed that notion this time around. with a confident tilt of her chin, she grabbed the box containing all the parts of what would hopefully turn out to be a coffee table, carefully placing it into the cart — as much as it would fit at least. “let’s do it. i think i still have the box of tools we used last time, but do you think we’ll need anything else ??” with tinkerbell around beverly quickly learned not everything could be fixed with duck tape or glue, && she’d forever be grateful for that && for the great company. “you need anything while we’re here ?? && by the way you’re staying for dinner. whether we get delivery or i whip us up something, it’s happening. it’s the least i can do for all your help.”
mike took a moment away from the ball’s festivities, enjoying another glass of whatever beer was on tap. after practically living at frat parties he learned not to be too picky, even despite usual high standards. raven brow arched at the others words before they wrinkled in confusion. “sorry dude, am i supposed to know who that is ??” mike was a hot 100 billboard kind of guy. “what’s the genre ??”
